The unit was spotless and pleasantly laid out - both functional (which makes a really nice change) and beautifully presented. It is located close to town and the waterfront, a stone's throw from the ferry to Cook's Beach. Lovely and quiet. Helpful & welcoming management.

The small heater could not cope with the colder weather. A larger heater and/or electric blankets would make the place cosy and warm. Helpful management rectified the problem with a loan heater and additional blankets for the second night which was lovely. I would love to return, once a larger heater is installed.

Location is perfection. Beach is a 1 min walk, cafes, restaurant and pub, 1 min walk. Town centre and market centre, 3 min walk, warf and ferry, 2 min walk. So central to everything yet so comfy, safe and quiet at the accommodation. Museum is 2 min walk, supermarket is about 8 to 10 min walk, even The Lost Spring is about 8 to 10 mins walk,, so convenient! Hosts are super friendly and catering. The accommodation has off street parking, safe neighborhood too. The room itself is warm, and has absolutely everything, all amenities you can think of and more, heater, fan, oven, microwave, jug, toaster, pots, pans, bowls, plates, mugs, glasses, oven dishes, utensils, cleaning supplies, bathroom with amazing water pressure, soap, conditioner, toilet paper, towels, extra blankets, super soft beds, BBQ and BBQ area and more! Highly highly recommended. We're coming back. Just loved it so much. Thank you Ross and Sue.

I rarely give reviews, but in this case I feel compelled because of just how nice people are here. The hosts of this motel are spectacularly nice. Ross has been very welcoming since our arrival and kind throughout our stay. He let us borrow his bikes for a whole day, and we had an amazing day cycling around Whitianga and Cooks beach. The place is very well located, right in the centre of Whitianga and next to the ferry to cross towards Cooks beach. Whitianga's beach is a 3 minutes walk. Restaurants, pubs, and shops are also within 2 minutes walk. It has everything you need. Would definitely go back if I ever happen to be on that side of the world again!

Super friendly and helpful host and well located motel. Loved the original features of our family room, though with two teenagers it was a little cramped. We enjoyed great summer weather so thankfully didn't need to spend much time in the room! Very convenient location within easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants, beach and ferry. Little extras such as marked parking spaces, extra room fans and shared boogie boards, beach umbrellas and spades for guests to use were much appreciated. Ross takes the time to greet guests and share local tips to make the most of your visit. Recommend spending at least 2-3 or more days in this gorgeous part of the Coromandel. Highly recommend Cathedral Cove sea kayaking.

Excellent location very close to Wharf and waterfront restaurant precinct. Very convenient parking right outside the door. Quiet location and very friendly owners giving very helpful and informative advice regarding Cruises and road conditions re temporary closure of land access to Cathedral Cove. Very comfortable beds and spacious kitchen dining area. Would definitely stay again.

No ventilation or exhaust fans in kitchen or bathroom. Seems quite common not to have such in accommodation in NZ. Results in annoying trigger of smoke alarm when cooking.

Ross was a very helpful host even before our arrival because I mixed up booking dates and he sorted it out. We also had an upgrade to a unit most convenient for us. The owner was friendly and informal. The motel is an older style, but clean and has essential stuff for a short stay. Walking distance to the town centre. The bed was very soft but comfortable for me. Car parking right outside the unit. Good value for money.

No A/C and unfortunately for us we came on the hottest day. On most days probably it is not a big problem. No fly screens.

Very clean and so spacious beautifully decorated felt homely. Loved the extras provided especially an umbrella appearing in all that rain. Our lady very kind a big help with getting the Tv going and keeping up supplies. Wonderful central location to river, town, Museum, and dining places

The host (Ross) was amazing and gave great advice on places to eat and what the best places to visit are. They have a fantastic BBQ area and offer shovels to borrow if you are off to hot water beach! Excellent location, close to shops and the beach. 1 minute walk tops to a cafe and water front views. Plenty of space inside the unit which was very clean and welcoming. We had our own carpark also!

Whitianga Motel is central to dining ,pubs parks,museum, the beach shopping ,tours and has beautiful scenery,. It is and older motel ,but units are spacious,clean and have everything you need,it was lovely ,quiet and relaxing The owner Ross is very friendly , helpful and went out of his way to make sure you had everything you needed,he also has alot of knowledge about the area, Would highly recommend, they are Family friendly and very welcoming, we loved how close it was to everything,you could walk.Woyld stay there again

Location was so close to main shops and ferry. The check in process was easy - I really liked how there was a lock box for the key to the unit, so we could arrive late and not disturb anyone with check in. Really good communication from the owner with the code and information. The unit was really clean and tidy, too. No complaints at all, would come to stay again.
