Safety. Bags screened through scanner at entrance and k9 sniffing dog. Another example was when wanting to enter our room while it was being cleaned; staff asked your name and to swipe your card to prove it's your room, great! Privacy. Private beach. Own cabin during massages at Chi Spa. Quality. Everything is so beautifully laid out, designed, high-quality fabrics, bed, etc. Everything is so fabulous that even the trashbins look good. A must-mention: the food. Whatever you're having, it's all delicious. We recommend the Chinese restaurant, specifically their Chef's signature prawns with mango (starter) and the Australian beef (main).

Sometimes children are too loud (yelling/screaming). Usually not the child's fault, but their parents, more often than not, don't do much about it. This can't be at a peaceful, serene hotel (note the name!). Therefore, we feel it's up to Shangri-la staff to go to the parents and request action on the matter, perhaps reminding them there are other guests..

The resort itself is beautiful. The facilities and gardens are just gorgeous. The breakfast each morning was superb. Its great having a choice of different restaurants to have dinner each night. The beach and pool areas were fabulous. The water at the beach was clean and clear and there were plenty of fish to see when snorkeling. Hopefully the coral will regenerate over the years to come. The staff were very accommodating. We travelled as an extended family group and they were able to change rooms for us so that we had interconnecting rooms. There is plenty for the kids to do.

There is room for improvement in the efficiency of food orders at the pool area. Drinks were delivered quickly but sometimes we waited up to an hour for food which wasn't great with young hungry children! The resort was a bit of an oasis located within a impoverished local area. Apart from the Mactan Shrine, there isn't much to see within walking distance outside of the resort.

The hotel is located directly at an amazing beach where you can snorchel and do other water activities. Also it is super close to the airport and not far from cebu city. We paid for an upgrade at the check in to get a bigger room as we were a family of four plus my mother. The Suite had an amazing view directly over the swimming pool and overlooking the ocean. Diane from the reception was so nice and we got a surprise gift and also a small goodbye gift on checkout. The restaurant at the ocean is amazing and due to the ocean breeze not too hot. Also breakfast has a lot of choices and options.

The hotel facailities (we were ocean wing) are getting old and there is need for renovation due to the huminity. The room itself was nice and comfortable with everything needed., however due to the huminity the carpets etc. need renovation. Still, the stay was exceptionell and would go again !!

This is an oasis with beautiful gardens and facilities. Rooms are very well appointed with really comfortable beds. The staff are numerous, efficient and friendly if not always engaging. Restaurants are super.

The constant demand to sign pieces if paper to confirm payment for things that should really be part of the price to stay. examples, water, use of ancient putters on a crazy golf course, snorkels etc. feels like you are being milked.

Our stay at Shangri-La Mactan was nothing short of exceptional. The two buffet restaurants offered a delightful culinary experience, complemented by the attentive and friendly staff, notably Alvin and Mai at Tides, who went above and beyond to enhance our stay. The Chi Spa surpassed expectations, providing my daughter and I with the best pampering sessions we've ever experienced. Overall, a truly luxurious and memorable retreat.

Our experience at Shangri-La Mactan had its drawbacks. The cost of the room didn't align with the expected quality, and while the bathroom was spacious and clean, it was in need of updates. The use of a sofa bed for our daughter's sleeping arrangement proved uncomfortable, especially during our six-night stay. Additionally, the location, though beautiful, posed a bit of a challenge for accessing major attractions. In hindsight, a shorter stay might have sufficed given these considerations.

Daily hotel plans for yoga, dance and snorkeling safaris are well received. Beach was clean and had a lot of safety precautions. Breakfasts were on point in terms of range and quality but it's not as wide in terms of type of juices but the Shangri-la premium coffee more than made up for it. Ice cream treats were very high quality and there is a dedicated section for Korean which has originality. Bed quality is top notch resulting in very restful sleep. Getting around the large estate was easy with directions. Staff are always courteous and helpful especially with photo taking.

Some hotel amenities like comb and extra pillows could have been precluded. Eco tours should be complimentary given the green vision for the hotel group

My first impression upon arriving at Shangri-la was the friendliness of all the staff from the greeter to the receptionist and all the other employees we encountered. The area itself was simply beautiful with its well manicured gardens, swimming pools, and obviously the beach. There was quite a lot of things to do to keep oneself entertained without having to go out of the area.

The only thing I could think of that they could show some improvement is their fitness center. It's rather small with very few exercise equipment for such a large hotel. It could also stand some renovation and perhaps have a larger facility.

Stayed here for two nights and the hotel exceeded our expectations! We took an upgrade offer so we stayed at the top floor that has access to an exclusive dining lounge. The highlight of our stay was our daily breakfast buffet (I truly felt the 5-star here, keep this up) and the Happy Hour, set in a dining area that has an amazing view of the sea. The dining staff's attention to the guest (Order ala carte for chef-curated dishes such as Eggwhite frittata and Poached egg) without being too overbearing, was great! A kind staff gently reminded me that we cant bring food from the buffet to our rooms, but she helped me pack some pastries anyway - love her! We also had a chance to take a yoga class at the hotel and she really gave us a great workout. I wish we had more time to enjoy all the amenities.

Complimentary iced tea/buko juice/ice cream would be a nice treat for all guests lounging at the pool!

nice surroundings, relaxing, typical "tropical island" feeling Clean hotel. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was huge, a lot of choices, but crowded at certain moments. Good they have 2 places to have breakfast. The ocean view resturant , called aqcua, was the most relaxing space to eat your breakfast. They have 2 pools , the oceanview pool and the main pool. Again to have resting and relaxing moments choose the Oceanview pool and last but not least the sea , a lot to explore, don't forget your snorkling gear, the sea is a live aquarium with colourfull fishes everywhere. Be carefull of the Trigger fish ( just look up in google to be informed ) The resort is filled with a lot restaurants, chines,buffet,seafood and grill,burgers, a lot of choices. Price $$$ to $$$$$ Average price for drinks as softdrinks is 4-5 euros , beers around 5-6 euros and the strong ones from 10 euro to ... unlimited . The buffet, in restaurant Tides, was our favourite , actually price person 35 euro without drinks. Depending weekdays or weekends ( 43 euro ) We had a good staying, relaxing ,enjoying the things what this hotel gives you for your money. For the kids there's the Ezon, with billards , gaming. I wil recommend this hotel other peolpe who are looking for a hotel in cebu.

The rooms can have a small refurbishment. You can see it's already a bit used. The bathroom can use a small paint job and few replacements.

A fabulous resort for a family. Lots for young children to do. The water play area and pools were exceptional and our grandchildren had heaps of fun there each day. The free activities such as the archery and mini golf provided a change from water play. The beach area was better than expected - clear water and lots of fish. Good choice of places to eat.

Although the staff were super friendly and accommodating, delivery of food orders (particularly from the Buko bar) often took a long time and was on several occasions, not what was ordered. Prices were also very inflated over the Easter period - particularly for the buffet.
