Joana was a fabulous host and was kind and considerate in getting the room ready fir me at short notice (within 24 hours because of the forest fires). I even requested an iron to be left which she kindly brought. Check in was smooth and through self service and I loved her tea station and biscuits. The location could not have been better and there is a great pizza restaurant in the square called favor something and the historico restaurant does a fado show on Thursday for free if you dine or drink! Would 100 percent go back. If you visit braga just drive if you can as I only though the bemo Jesus was worth climbing but the city was not that nice when compared to guimares

Nothing!

The location involved a steep gradient walk - that was probably the only snag. Otherwise it was decently signposted. Breakfast was satisfying ( I loved the fresh oranges juicing them ), the space overall was good, the mattress was fine although my power socket ( bed 10 room 1 ) was unusually placed and a little loose but worked. The place was very clean and felt much like a home. Bruno, Joana & Rosa made it all welcoming for - Joana taught me to use the kitchen stuff properly, I made a pot of steamed rice 😃 🌾 🍲, Rosa met me in the morning once I picked up my key from somewhere upon advancing my ID as I was arriving around 1:30am 😀 when nobody was around & Bruno let me stay for a while after checking out and called a cab to the Guimarães railway station ( €1.60 call fee & €4 for the distance & time ) - I headed towards Aveiro using my CP 72hr Tourist Card for Urban trains Urbanos. The Restaurant Penguin / 🇵🇹 Ristaurante Pinguim was right opposite where I could see it from the hostel's TV / Computer room desks and a good POI for GPS & cabs in order to find the place. Pictures uploaded to assist others in making up their minds ...

Nothing really

The host/staff was wonderful - so knowledgeable about the area and lovely to chat with. Breakfast was simple but delicious and very convenient to have on-site. We loved that our dog could join us as well. The space we stayed in was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Overall, a truly lovely stay and we will definitely be returning!

The basement felt slightly damp due to the humidity. That is not the fault of the host, as it has been very rainy - and they did supply a dehumidifier. Just something to be aware of for people who are sensitive to things like that!

We stayed in the studio for 5 days at Easter. We liked that it was open-plan and had private access and faciliites. We really loved the garden area (and so did our dog). The breakfasts were good and the hostel felt like a home stay, really cosy and we had access to the entire kitchen and dining area. Our kid loved the bunk bed in the studio also. The location to town was brilliant - close to everything and all the major sites. The hostel is so comfortable, the staff are great, and it felt like we were visiting good friends. The atmosphere also made it easy to meet the other guests. Just a lovely place!

The plumbing was a bit odd - the sink in the studio kitchenette dripped onto the floor and the tap made water explode everywhere! Also, the shower fittings were falling off the shower wall. But, I guess we still just really like the hostel even with this.

Super nice place to stay, very cozy, very clean, with two nice outside areas, a nice tv room and an amazing breakfast. The staff were super nice and very helpful so thanks ! There’s actually curtains on the beds which was a very nice surprise :) Located just a few meters away from the castle and the city center, the location is also perfect

The mattress was not the most confortable one, I could feel a little bit the springs, but that’s the only thing !

I was lucky enough to get there during low season, so I was the only person in a room for 10 lol It's a beautiful house! You can see that Johanna and the other hosts tried hard to make it feel like home. The area is quite chill but just 5 min away you have the castle and 10 min away is the city centre. It is not a hostel per se, it's more of a small guest house. But it's perfect to stay a couple of days, chill, rest, enjoy the small town vibes. The breakfast is the usual stuff but it is included into the price. I loved the idea of squeezing my own juice in the morning :) Good interner connection and cute living room area to work.

It was alright for me being alone, but some curtains would be great, if there were more people. Also, the dorm room has tripple bunk beds, so might be a bit high, if you get the top one.

I had a late check-in and the proprietor was more than helpful and sending instructions, pictures, and it was very easy to gain entrance

The first night I had a room, which was taken the second night, so I went in the dorm and that was a tad bit more uncomfortable. The bunkbeds were very low, and the ceiling was very low because they stacked them three high.

I loved the breakfast foods offered and big kitchen space. Joanna was very helpful, friendly and spoke at least 3 languages.

We wish the room would have had more comfortable pillows and 2 chairs (one could even be a folding one), since there were 2 of us. When more than one set of guests are using common areas, there is always risk of issues with cleanliness. It was very difficult to find parking and acquire a space. A sign would've helped.

Everything! The host was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, full breakfast with 🥪 bread and dessert. Workstation in the living room, cable TV, courtyard, backyard for outdoor sitout. Towel change, regular cleaning...etc

Nothing really, maybe the beds were too low and too many people in the room of 10 however it most times doesn't exceed 4-5 persons per time.
