During a long trip with more than 15 stops around Europe, this is the accommodation that stands out. It is exceptional at all levels, the perfect package of warm hospitality and a property with the views and comfort levels you would expect of a luxury hotel. Ana, Marco, Antonio and the rest of the team will do everything possible to ensure your stay in the Douro is memorable. Breakfast and dinner (particularly the beef) are first-rate, as is the wine list (including their own label). And all things considered, the price of a room is a bargain.

We were recommended by a friend to stay at Casa Do Arco. We ended our amazing trip in Portugal with two nights at Casa Do Arco and it exceeded our expectations. Ana and Marco have done such a beautiful job with the property. The second we arrived we were greeted by the lovely Ana. She gave us a private tour and set up dinner reservations and taxi services for us that night in town, since it was Monday and the kitchen was closed. The next day we did the most amazing private tour with Ana around Douro Valley. I highly recommend anyone to book their experience tours as well. Our last dinner was at the casa with Marco leading the night. It was such an incredible meal. I would also like to shout out the staff at the casa who really made us feel welcomed. Wow Casa Do Arco is a very special place!

Nestled in the heart of the Douro Valley, Casa do Arco by Douro Exclusive is a spectacular gem that promises an unforgettable stay. The meticulous attention to detail throughout the property is evident, from the elegant decor to the expansive windows that perfectly frame the stunning views. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a spectacular range of pastries, muesli, and eggs to suit every taste. On Sunday and Monday evenings, as the restaurant is closed for dinner, we opted for a picnic basket and were delighted with the spread of artisan crackers, cheeses, salmon, patties etc. It was truly magical to sit in front of the beautiful windows, enjoying our meal with a bottle of wine as the sun set over the valley. The staff are exceptional, offering delightful conversations and invaluable insights and recommendations about the region.

Would be cool to see the outside developed further to compliment the interior and landscape.

The views were amazing and the accommodation was beautifully presented. Breakfast and dinner were lovely and freshly made. We particularly loved our day tour with Sandra, who was extremely knowledgeable about the Duoro region and took us to a beautiful vineyard where the owners went out of their way to accommodate us.

The pool looked a bit murky and not clear , so I didn’t feel comfortable swimming iin it. There was also a sewerage smell in the bathroom. The staff did not provide clear instructions for our hike and we got lost in the heat with no water able to be provided for us from the staff. There was also often no water available in the guest lounge. Options for a drink in the lounge other than buying a bottle would be a nice touch.

Marco, Tony and team looked after us from the minute we arrived to the moment we left. The suite we stayed in was stunning, with huge windows throughout to see the perfect views. The breakfast each morning was exceptional, and Tony provided us with excellent hiking, dining and winery recommendations throughout our stay. The highlight, however, was the restaurant - we had the best meal of our trip there, with locally sourced produce, winery from their vineyard and olive oil from their local grove. A perfect stay, thank you!

This is an extraordinary property! We had visited once before for lunch and were simply astonished by the views, the food, and the service. This trip, we stayed overnight in one of their lovely rooms and had dinner. It was amazing! The room was stunning with giant windows and gorgeous views, a comfortable bed, and every single thing you could want or need. Plus there is a downstairs guest sitting room that is so nice. The dinner and complementary breakfast the next morning were outstanding. Perhaps the best part, though, was the service. The house manager, Antonio, is exceptional! In addition to providing great service and communication, he helped show us the trail (very close) for a beautiful hike to Provensende through the vineyards. In the summer I can imagine it might be a little too hot, but in January it was perfect! We will definitely be coming back to Casa do Arco and bringing friends!

There isn't a single thing that could have been better.

Casa do Arco is exceptional. From the moment you arrive until you leave, you will feel at home. The building and interior decor are just stunning, with high quality natural materials and colours that create a relaxing, luxurious feel. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom/ shower also beautiful. The views from all sides of the building are incredible. We made use of the lounge and the garden a few times, savouring the views, absorbing being in the amazing environment and relaxing. Breakfast was absolutely perfect. Their scrambled eggs were the best we have ever tasted. We walked down to Pinhao, which is about a 30 minutes walk, very steep downhill via a small cobbled road, but is perfectly safe with no risk of slipping, however not for anyone who is immobile. No problem getting back up as we got a taxi from outside Pinhao train station, which takes you back up the way you would otherwise drive. You can get a train to various towns from Pinhao, recommended as the train journey is a great experience. Ana, Marco and their small team have created a truly magical place and the genuine care and attention of every single one of the team shines through in everything. We look forward to watching them grow in the coming years, (we would like to go back at a different time of year) but their ongoing success is truly deserved.

Casa do Arco was an amazing boutique hotel. Location was only 10 minutes from Pinhao (by car) and very easy to get to. The house and rooms were beautifully decorated and clean. The huge glass windows really makes it special as the view is spectacular. We loved the restaurant as well, I would fully recommend dining here. Excellent wines. The owner Marco and his whole team were so friendly and service exceptional. I would book before this place becomes too exclusive / fully booked. I really look forward to coming back and wish Marco and Ana all the best with expanding the hotel and growing their business.

That we couldn't stay longer!

Chose this place because it looked calm and comfortable and because of the restaurant, so we didn't have to drive again after all that wine consumption. It's a gorgeous area. Bed was very good with a stunning view. Staff are good natured. Dinner was on the pricey side but worth it for a very amazing experience - if you reserve a room here, you're messing up if you don't reserve the restaurant at the same time. Breakfast was also great. Wonderful walk-in shower. Only stayed one night but wish it was at least 2.

Nitpicking here: Bathroom door is a bit finicky. Also the road is a bit scary, but that's the case with roads in the area and many are far more scary. Again, would not want to drive on them at night after a bunch of wine.

Casa do Arco is a memorable place located 5 minutes away from the town of Pinhão (by the Douro river), that I'd 100% recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful yet luxurious place to relax and enjoy the sights. The house is located on a hill, with magnific views towards the Douro valley, and possesses only 3 rooms, providing that intimate and private feeling. The house is perfectly architectured, with slight resemblances to alpine wooden chalets. The room provides panoramic views towards the valley (river included). All room components are of top quality and the bed is super comfortable. The outside space provides the perfect spot for relaxation, while enjoying the views and drinking a glass of Port wine. It also offers a small swimming pool. I'd also strongly suggest anyone who stays in Casa do Arco to book a table at the restaurant at least once. The dinner was superb, and please do choose the Vaca Gallega (matured beef steak). It was one of the best meat meals I ever had in my entire life. The owner and collaborators will go the extra mile to provide you the best stay possible, and I can only say that we will definitely be going back to Casa do Arco when we visit the Douro Valley in the near future.
