Large spotless room with plenty of storage space and huge bed. Very good bathroom. The shower was the best I've had. Good water pressure and adjustable temperature. As a solo traveller, I couldn't ask for more.

The breakfast was disappointing. Plenty of choice, but the simple buffet food was not covered and was exposed to the numerous flies that were very grateful for the freedom to jump from the bread, to the cereals, cakes and even the help yourself fruit bowl. After a couple of days I narrowed my options down and only chose the boiled eggs and coffee. There is a great little bakery further up the hill that serves excellent sandwiches and cakes, so I went there to complete my breakfast.

Great location in the heart of Santana for exploring the northeast of Madeira. My room was clean and had a balcony, which is always nice. The bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly and the WiFi was good. The breakfast was very good (everything I needed). There was lots of parking space available. Having an adjacent restaurant is a considerable advantage after a very long day outside (but enough alternatives are within walking distance).

Everything could do with a bit of modernization and overall, it appears as if the hotel has seen more glamorous days (this is especially apparent in the indoor pool area). The walls are rather thin (greetings to the couple from the next room :-)).

For the price, the hotel was great. The room was quite spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and I slept well. The restaurant was decent, and conveniently attached to the hotel. The brunch was pretty nice.

The hotel was a bit dated. After a big rainstorm, both the wifi and more inexplicably, the cold water went out, so I couldn't take a shower without scalding myself. The registration process was very strange. I received someone else's reservation materials via email, and the address that Booking.com has for the location is somewhere else entirely. Oh! And be advised: There are churchbells. They start at 7am sharp, and repeat, every 15 minutes, until 10pm.

The hotel was spacious with a pool and gym that was free to use (although I didn’t use them), the room was comfortable and clean with a large bathroom and balcony, the included breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. The hotel was a 2 minute walk from the centre of Santana where the old style houses are. I also found it easy to get a taxi / bolt from here.

It’s a little dated and could do with some redecoration. The room was peaceful until someone used the door to the stairs, which slammed and woke me every time, it just needs a self-closure arm.

The room was spacious, with a large balcony. The price also included a jacuzzi and a swimming pool (indoor). The breakfast was delicious, with a choice of boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms and sausage (hot food). In addition, sausage, cheese, tomato, muesli, yoghurt, fruit salad, sweet pastries, etc. The location was convenient. The bathroom had a spacious bathtub.

We missed a trash can in the room. The shower rooms downstairs by the pool could have had some racks.

Breakfast was good? Plenty of choice.

There was half a papaya (still in shop packaging) on the floor in the main double bedroom. It was half sticking out under the long floor length orange curtains which has strange. The bed and the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The views were stunning! Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location, restaurant, pool area. Very clean and spacious room with a comfortable bed. Large bathroom with deep tub and separate bidet.

Water ran back and forth between cold and scalding hot. They need to fix their plumbing. Noise from the next room was horrendous. Could even hear someone’s cell phone buzzing. A party one night and a family with loud children another kept me up until past midnight. Bad behavior on the part of those patrons, but hotel needs to do more to soundproof rooms.

It is a nice place, old in some way, quite, charming, friendly staff, but I can't say that is not as a 4 star Hotel , when I compare to other hotels we've been.

We have only breakfast, but there wasn't so many options of food, it was not bad but this can improve to have more options for allergens and more dried fruits and hazelnuts and the connection from airport with public transport...buses is very bad with the North of the island.

The hotel is really very beautiful. the staff is nice and helpful and smiling. The breakfast was varied and a large selection. I had dinner in the restaurant and the local fish and mussels, including Madeiran wine, were delicious. The room was luxurious with a balcony and a view of the garden and the ocean in the distance. In addition, they also have parakeets and a great talking parrot in a cage near the hotel. He was absolutely charming and not only talked but had a great laugh.

I liked everything here, so there is nothing I didn't like.

Front desk stuff was very nice. I particularly asked for no stairs & no smoking room & we got a room on the ground floor which look like a newly renovated wing of the hotel. Room was very nice, looks newly renovated, very modern, clean, spacious, big comfortable bed, with all necessary details needed for a very comfortable stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

First impression on the outside of the hotel, didn’t look so impressive, looks old & entrance was hidden behind the restaurant. Lobby looks dated & a little dim, but we love our room.
