The place has stunning views, and our room was comfortable and clean, allowing us to have a restful stay. The staff were also very friendly.

Like many people have already written, the hotel needs renovation. Our room was nice, but the corridor (especially the floor carpet), pool, and spa facilities are in horrible condition. I would only return after renovation. The breakfast was also disappointing. Out of the six other places we stayed in Madeira, it was probably the worst in terms of taste and choice.

Lovely hotel with ocean view. Location is convenient to explore the North (east and west) of the island. Room was very big and cosy, classical style. Excellent breakfast and helpful staff. Very quick and efficient laundry service. Parking available in the garage and/or in close proximity.

The only minus I can think of is the hairdryer, pretty slow I really recommend this place.

I had a great stay at the Monte Mar Palace Hotel, the room is of high quality and very spacious. I particularly wonder how they manage to make the bed linen (embroidered with the hotel logo) so soft. I had a single room (with a view of the mountains) and I wonder how big they can get. The receptionist, Raimundo (who speaks English, French and German!), was really friendly and very helpful, giving me the walking tips I needed, which secured my next leg. Check-in went smoothly and I was immediately offered a pool towel with the recommendation to use the pools. The outdoor pool with sun loungers is beautiful with a paranomic view of the sea. The heated indoor pool with Jacuzzi is spacious. There is also a spa and a lobby area with large comfy sofas and even a mini-golf course, just infront of the pool if you fancy a go. The breakfast buffet is great - with lots of choice. As a side tip, just outside the hotel is Kare's Café, where I had a good portion of beef picado and toasted garlic bread, along with a pint of Carol! It may be a simple café but the service is amazing, the friendly young Maderian waiter speaks perfect English and was really helpful in explaining the drinks and food.

The room was large and clean, bed was huge and comfortable. There was a balcony with mountains and ocean view. It was really nice falling asleep when listening ocean waves. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was also a pool and variety of books to read. All in all, very lovely stay!

The room was a bit old fashioned and the palms on the picture have aged significantly, but that's perhaps also a question of taste. However I would recommend to consider adding some extension cord in order to have charging opportunities for the electronical devices for two people also next to the bed.

Overall it was a good experience thanks to a friendly and cool stuff. Hotel located in an amazing place with beautiful sightseeing. Easy to get and secure parking.

You can feel that there was a days when this hotel was full with people and had a real 4 star rating, with labeled and soft sheets and good pillows. But now lots of small details need renovation, and hotel should be more accurate around cleaning, as our bathroom had memories from previous visitors, it wasn't really bad, but you didn't expect it from 4star hotel. I believe this hotel has a huge potential and can attract more visitors even with slight improvements, cause the location and stuff are good.

It is a rare occasion when my husband expresses emotions, especially of amazement. When we arrived and opened the curtains to get the view from the balcony, here it was and I was the happiest. I have a strong desire to write an essay about how great our stay was, but I won’t. Room was spotless, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast rich and extremely delicious. The pool area clean, sunbeds comfortable. Enough parking spaces. Absolutely mesmerizing views from literally every spot of the property. The location is also pretty convenient to get to different destinations around the island.

Stunning view from our bedroom! An ocean view room of the mountains & sea. Our room was big, very clean & comfortable. Great facilities overall.

Our mattress was a bit lumpy & could go with bring upgraded. The surrounding area is v.quiet so a car is definitely needed to get about.

I liked everything, the staff, the room (big, clean, terrace), breakfast (so many choices)! I loved the pool area and the garden.. adored the little cat family living in surrounding bushes. Please keep them safe and fed 🙏 😊 The location and the views from the property are superb! I simply wish i booked a longer stay!

Nice place with great view of the see and also close to small village. If you are traveling with a car its a good starting point to explore other places of interest and also to have a walking tour.

perhaps a bit change of breakfast, but on other hand everything was availible.
