After spending an amazing two weeks travelling around Portugal we wanted some downtime and space to relax. The accommodation is comfortable and the owner and her staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are exemplary - a great start to your day. Great views and walks to enjoy.

Our suite was in a block of four set away from the main building - offering privacy, one assumes. I would have preferred a dividing wall (or at least a privacy screen) between the patios so we could enjoy the loungers and view without having to engage with neighbours. There is a delightful communal pool - but too “busy” with shouting kids for us. But perhaps that’s just us being picky and needing personal /quiet space.

We stayed in the Villa, a smallish one bedroom apartment in one of the original buildings near the pool and breakfast building, which made access very simple. Direct view of river from our bedroom and private patio. (Another guest structure is much further away and is a bit of a walk, so if you have small children or issues walking, pay attention to which room you book). The grounds are very expansive with many hiking trails and picnic areas, even a primitive spring you could hike down to, as well as picnic areas and viewpoints a ways away from the main structures. A donkey and sheep (as well as goats?) can be enjoyed if you’re an animal lover. Very peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was served rather than buffet style, which was a refreshing change as well as complete and high quality with amazing views of the river and countryside.

Our bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but not a big deal. Some might complain that furniture is dated, but I thought it kind of fit with the vintage style of the old building.

We loved our stay here, the views across the river are amazing, Monica and her team were brilliant, helpful and friendly. room was great for 2 adults, 2 teenagers, WiFi worked well, breakfast with choice of wonderfully cooked eggs, muesli, fruit, the best coffee (we are vegetarian) enabled a great start in the morning. Best by far was just the location , so serene, swing overlooking the river is beautiful, yet short drive to great beaches and also Vila nova de Milfontes.

We had an amazing time. Monica made our stay so special. She made us dinner reservations, a picnic to take on our hike and was so welcoming. Homemade breakfast was a highlight as were the beautiful views. Highly recommend! Accommodation was large, clean and had everything we needed. Family of 5 with little kids-this was their favorite stop on our Portuguese holiday. The hike to the river, the donkey, the tree swing, the pool.

Monica was amazing! We received a wonderful welcome upon our arrival and then a reservation for a meal out for my birthday which was that day! She was so helpful and let us know about the time change that was happening that night (March 26th). Since we had to leave early to get our rental car back to the airport, Monica brought all we needed to have a little breakfast in our Villa the next morning. The amenities were great! She also upgraded us to a suite that was in the main building which was great as we were close to the pool and all the beautiful views overlooking the valley. We would have stayed longer and left behind some of our other a tops if we had realized how beautiful it was. Next time 😉 We felt very taken care of and highly recommend this property!

Needs some updating (charming but dated) and a few maintenance issues but nothing that negatively impacted our stay.

Wow, what a great holiday experience. The location was perfect to relax. The facilities were great, the pool was sitting perfectly on the property that you got amazing views of the river whilst taking a swim. The villa we stayed in was very cute and well equipped. The staff were very helpful and booked us into amazing restaurants for our evening meals in town. The breakfast was well catered with very friendly staff serving, and of course there were great views from the breakfast room.

The dirt road into the property was extremely bumpy, I would just be very cautious on the drive in. This did not takeaway from our experience though, just something to keep in mind.

The place is fabulous so many, the grounds are amazing and wonderful to walk around with loads of different places to sit and be The breakfast was just right and your privacy was upheld at all times

Everything ! Fantastic location and the views were amazing ! The villa was fabulous and so comfy with everything you would need . Also yummy cake for us ! Great breakfast too .

Front desk accommodating when we arrived hungry. We enjoyed Fred the donkey and his sheep followers cleaning up the weeds around the patio in the morning.

Door locks barely functional. At one point we were locked in our room and had to exit via the patio door. Breakfast room and chairs small and uncomfortable. Too windy to be outside. Had to ask for things at breakfast, we not offered like juice and jam for bread.

A rare find! A a group of self-contained, characterful villas on a stunning estate and swimming pool within a protected nature reserve, with riverside & hillside views, and only a 10 minute drive to the nearest seaside town.
