We were here 5 years ago, and were absolutely overwhelmed by this oasis of beauty. So glad to see nothing has changed, if only for the better. Excellent restaurant and breakfast. Excellent bathroom. This is one of my three favourite accommodations in the world, the other two being Stary Mlin in Upalty (Poland) and Ivan Apartments in Skopje. Too bad it is so far from home, but we will definitely be back nevertheless.
Yes, the fridge in the apartment is a joke, the bed is a little too soft and the AC a little weak... but who cares, you cannot help but love this place! You do forgive your loved one some imperfections, right?

The room was large, tastefully decorated with an amazing view of the garden. Very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was great too, with a wide selection catering to all tastes and a wide variety of homemade appetizers. The garden and domain were amazing: well kept and very clean, full of flowers and ceturies old trees. Always quiet, with just constant bird song as a background. The restaurant was beyond any expectation, with a very wide selection of choices. Everything we tried was very nicely cooked and plated. The drinks were also well prepared, and everything was at a fair or even low price. Eveyone at the property was friendly and always looking to make guests feel welcome. Smiles all around and a great atmosphere. We will return any and every chance we get!

Palatul Brukenthal Avrig is more than just a place to stay; it’s an experience. The blend of historical elegance, modern comfort, and unparalleled service creates a perfect setting for a memorable getaway. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply in need of a relaxing retreat, this palace has something to offer. The dining experience at Palatul Brukenthal was a culinary delight. I wholeheartedly recommend this exquisite destination for anyone seeking an exceptional weekend escape.
There was a minor issue with the shower drainage, which was slower than expected and led to some water pooling in the shower area. This was a bit inconvenient but manageable.

Excellent Location. Parking space free. Personal very polite and ready to help you with everything you need. Breakfast wat good and had everything. The personnel from the restaurant were extremely polite and treated our child very nicely :) Highly recommend the place. All in all a pleasent experience, but will nor rebook in cold season.
The heating didn't work for both nights. My opinion is that when you know you have guests coming and they also have a 1 year old child you check if the heating works. They tried to fix it but with no success, finally they offered us a radiator. We were also offered the option to move into a double room but we refused, we booked an apartment because that was the type of accommodation needed.

The room was large and clean. The staff is very nice and accommodating, good food and great garden space. We had access to the pool, which was actually across the street, but it was a good experience. Good place for families with small children.
The lack of air conditioning in the room was an issue as we stayed during a heat wave, and the playground area could use an update. The bathroom was nice, modern, and large, but it lacked hanging devices for the towels, and the floor tiles are really slippery once wet.

The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The restaurant is fancy and it has a very nice (and romantic) atmosphere. The food was good, the breakfast spectacular. I loved in particular the honeycomb. For us as a family it was convenient that the rooms are very close to the restaurant and to the playground.
It is a bit strange that the rooms are particularly basic and small for such a fancy location (and restaurant).

The place is very nice and quiet. The restaurant outside was very beautiful, situated in the garden. The food was tasty. The appointment we stayed in is probably the biggest one we have ever rented. The kids loved it. The breakfast is great.
The AC in the room wasn't big enough so it was quite warm during the whole night. Most of the staff don't speak English. But they were all very polite.

Good parts: You stay in a historic place with a vibe. The garden is very beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast seems to be costly but it worth it. The staff tries to help you to solve your questions. The check in / check out time is pretty flexible and they give you a lot of opportunities to arrange your arrival/departure in a more convenient way.
Not so much privacy. The windows of our room faces the garden. It would be perfect, but there is a restaurant’s terrace outside. So you can see and hear the people sitting directly near your window. And as the restaurant is closing at 10 pm, you just need to wait for this time to have some quiet time.

Everything, the domain is absolutly wonderful and deserves to spend more days there, u will not get bored. I guess in summer the swimming pool is also open (we have been there in May, and it was not filled up yet) Also, a nice surprise it was the kids playground, I did not expect to have such thing there :)
We have been in low seasons, and therefore thebrekfast was organized individually, not as buffet (and the choices were a bit poor). I guess in full season is better - but is just a guessing

The room was clean. We staid in rooms 206 and 207 in the attic. The rooms size was rather small but we knew that from the beginning. There is a nice vibe staying in this palace. The garden is beautiful. Also the dining room looks nice and gives you a good old vibe.
We had a little problem with the heating, we announced the people from the Bruckental Palace and they fixed it. There was some problem with the hot water and cold water in the shower - very hard to find the right position to mix the water. Also, the prices in the menu are quite high comparing with the quality of the food. Most likely the prices are made considering the place where you dine. The breakfast was very nice but again rather expensive comparing with other nice places we staid (45 RON/person). We also had a small dog traveling with us which was never let alone in the room - we were charged 60 RON/night, again quite expensive comparing with other places, better ranked than this one.
