Beautiful cottage, situated in a stunning garden. The cottage has a separate entrance, kitchen, bathroom and open plan bedroom/lounge and dining area, as well as veranda seating and a patio area. The spa pool was enjoyable to relax in at the end of a busy day. Breakfast is cooked to order and the fridge is well stocked with nibbles and drinks. This was a relaxing one night stop on my journey, and would make for a beautiful romantic getaway. The cottage is a short drive into town and is handy to the forgotten world highway (SH43) and the attractions on that route.

Fantastic host! The place is 5 min from town, the room is spacious, has a beautiful garden, is very tranquil and great for unwinding. Host met us when we arrived and she had prepared a fantastic cheeseboard and welcome drinks. She walked us through everything and we got to pick our breakfast and she delivered delicious breakfast to our room at exactly the time we asked for, how good is that! We used the spa and it was great. Everything was excellent and well thought out to give us the best stay. We travel a bit and this is by far the best B&B we have stayed. Highly recommended!

Wish we could stay longer.

Our fully cooked breaky was delicious, definitely 5 star hotel rating except I think it was better! Loved the cheeseboard etc. The lemon pistachio slice was divine! These extra touches were amazing! Location was perfect & the view was stunning which was just outside the back door in amongst the beautiful gardens. It was lovely to sit out there and take in the beautiful view. Courtyard with sitting area, pool and spa was lovely but unfortunately we didn't get to swim or go in the spa, hopefully next time. Cottage was beautiful! Room was spacious, modern and beautiful. The bed was sooo comfortable. Top notch bedding and linen. Melana was the perfect host. thank you!

Wish we could have stayed longer.

Melana was a wonderful host! The hot breakfast options were excellent and arrived at the nominated time piping hot. Cold breakfast cereal options were in our kitchen, with fresh milk, yoghurt and orange juice in the fridge. The facilities were great, with stove and oven as well as a microwave so were able to self cater our evening meal. Also waiting in the fridge for us was a wonderful cheeseboard, complete with a glass of wine that was delivered to us after Melana had shown us around. We enjoyed the hot tub on our first night. We had bathrobes to change into and towels were provided at the hot tub. The view from the back porch was stunning, we enjoyed listening to the birds getting ready for bed in the evening with a glass of wine.

We arrived back in the dark one night and, although it was a short walk to the front door, some outside lighting would have been nice.

Attention to detail was exquisite in every way. Melana has created a fabulous space, indoors and out, and you feel like you’ve arrived in paradise. Very comfy and cozy, with delightful gardens lovingly created over 28 years, a joy to wander and explore. The breakfast was spectacular with choices of French toast, eggs, bacon, etc., and presented with flair. The spa, the pool, the views and a delightful host who has thought of everything - couldn’t have asked for more!

This place is incredible - the room and terrace are beautiful and the gardens are just stunning. There were so many unexpected extras and personal touches, a warm welcome and out of this world breakfast. It's tranquil and feels completely private and luxurious. I loved it.

Nothing!

A corner of paradise which was a privilege to visit. A stroll through the gardens was a treat at every turn; Melana was a perfect and most generous host and our stay was without want, beyond comfortable.

Nothing not to like.

The little cottage we stayed is lovely and set in a beautiful garden, in a quiet cul de sac just outside of Taumarunui. It was adjoining the owner's home, but felt completely private, with separate parking, front porch, back porch and garden terrace area. The bedroom/sitting/dining room was spacious and the separate kitchen was surprising big and well equipped. Cereal and fruit was provided in the kitchen, but our host made us a delicious cooked breakfast. The decor was extremely attractive and all of the bed linen, furniture and other appointments were of a high standard. The whole cottage was clean, light and fresh. An enormous amount of care and thought had clearly gone into creating this lovely and peaceful B&B. Our host was friendly and hospitable, but not intrusive. We were able to explore her extensive garden and had free use of her spa pool. She did whatever she could to ensure that our stay was enjoyable and memorable. As an example, she informed us about a neighbour with an onsite shop who imports and sells English china (which one of us loved!).

We only stayed for a couple of nights, so it didn't really matter, but some additional space to hang clothes might be good.

Customer service was fantatic. cooked breakfast delivered to the room in the morning plus continental breakfast. 5 acres of landscaped gardens to explore. Outdoor patio so relaxing. Kitchen and supplies abundant. quiet relaxing propery located maybe 5 mins out of town by car.

Absolutely stunning location and so well presented, great garden area with pool and spa. Immaculately presented and was so much more than we thought. Cheese and crackers, fruit, drinks all on offer. Breakfast was amazing. We will absolutely book this again. 10/10
