The room itself was perfect for what we needed, double bed, single bed and bunk bed. The location was very close to amenities and a decent sister pub with decent food. Staff were friendly. It was only an overnight stay but was very good price for what it was.

Bunk beds were very creaky and mattresses weren't very comfortable. The location is next to a very busy road so it was very noisy, not really something in their control, but all in all the bad gets cancelled out by the price we paid. It happened to be quite a hot day (also beyond their control) so the noise of either widows open or fan plus the mediocre mattresses made the kids find it hard to sleep. One ended up sleeping on the floor instead of the top bunk. Wouldn't want to stay as family more than one night.

The room was clean and large with a comfortable bed.

There was no chest of drawers or even shelves to put out the socks, underwear etc. This meant we lived out of the suitcase. The room was not serviced. It was not so much making up the bed, but the bin was not emptied even when I asked 3 times. I had to ask the kind cleaner to empty the bins. The toilet rolls were not refilled etc. We had lunch on Sunday the service was so bad that we didn’t even get the menu till after 45 minutes. We booked and arrived at 12.45 but did not leave till 14.45 & we only had one course in that time. The food was good. Were they busy NO the waitress spend more time seeing to empty tables! There were 2 windows overlooking the main Road which means it could be noisey if big Lorries were passing.

The friendly welcome I got. The corridors are bright and easy to navigate. The room was bright and warm. The art on display in the room was appreciated (Hares are my favourite). Plenty of clothes hangers. Crisp clean bed linen.

The bathroom vanity bin was dirty. It was next to the loo and the lid was very dusty and not very clean. The basin in the bathroom wasn't very clean either. The cold tap in the bathroom needs to be re-plumbed as it doesn't work correctly.

Ideal location for our visit to the showground which is only 1.5 miles away.

The catering was a little chaotic at times. Most people there were at the show and wanted to get away quickly after breakfast but they ran out of bread for toast several times and didn't have enough whole meal for those who wanted it. The finish time for evening meals varied, we rushed to get there before 7.00pm and then they extended it to 8.00pm so we need not have rushed about.

The manager and the lady who did the breakfasts were amazing - so kind and welcoming. I felt very relaxed and at home. Although the facilities are a bit old and tired, my room was spotless. The continental breakfast was nice, with lots of options. I enjoyed a drink in the bar in the evenings.

Nothing really - it wasn't 5 star luxury, but great value. I was a bit worried about the noise from the bar, but it was all shut down in good time. I enjoyed the music playlist and the camaraderie of the other guests.

The hotel itself is beautiful and clean, definitely has a modern touch and feel, the room was perfect it was clean cozy and had plenty of amenities, the bed was so soft and comfy slept like a log, the food is out of this world I had the cheese burger an chips with salad all locally sourced but the taste explosion was beautiful, all he staff was friendly had a brilliant laugh with them, they really made you feel at home and welcome definitely going to stay here again in the future and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in or around the shepton mallet area.

There is nothing I didn't like

The staff! All had such a nice way about them and were so friendly We had a family room for two adults and a child, it was basic but clean and spacious. And very good value for money. I would happily stay again next time we are in the area

I was a bit sceptical about the location as it was on the main road but it turned out not to be an issue. At the time we were there the kitchen was not open for breakfast but there were plenty of pastries and decent coffee.

I stayed in the budget single room for one night and found it to be extremely comfortable for my needs. The room size may not be as big as some of the others, but..., hey ! Are you really that fussy..?? The bed was a small double, so a good size with very cosy bedding.. The room was at the back of the accommodation, so didn't pick up the noise of the traffic along the A37, so a big bonus there. It had a great shower, with good-sized towels. All in all , I was very pleased with the room. Extremely friendly staff, a lovely bar to enjoy a drink in, with a bowl of delicious homemade soup for my evening meal. A good continental breakfast, plenty to choose from. Fried breakfast was available at an added cost, but honestly, more than enough food was provided.

To be totally honest...I couldn't fault it.

The room was great, the inn was perfect for our trip Friendly and helpful staff. We went to the highway man pub next door for our evening meal, which was good food and good lager too😀

The people staying in room above ours were very noisy when we were trying to get to sleep. Not the pubs fault just inconsiderate guests. They were just as noisy in the morning.

Stayed in a small single room but the bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean. Large car park. Kettle in the room with plenty of tea etc. Ate in the restaurant downstairs which had a nice atmosphere and felt very safe. Good wi fi so I could do some work. Really friendly staff. Would stay again.

My room was quiet but it was on a busy road. It was easier to turn left and go up to the roundabout and back again rather than take your life in your hands. It was foggy when I stayed so that didn't help. Wouldn't put me off staying again though.
