Breakfast was excellent, wide choice, quality ingredients and very well cooked. Good variety of pillows, good toiletries, comfortable bed. The staff were quite superb, nothing was too much trouble and they struck an appealing balance between courteousness and friendliness. They were helpful regarding local info. Food in the restaurant was good but pricey, the beer was reasonably priced and very satisfying. The bus stop to Shepton, Wells is just outside.

Personally, I didn't like the forms for ordering things like teabags, milk etc, though I could see that pre-ordering breakfast was practical. The en suite in room 4 is cramped and would benefit from shelving to stick one's washbag, toothpaste etc on. The carpark is up the road and easy to miss when you arrive, parking outside the pub is tight and limited.

We had a good stay at the Oakhill Inn in a dog-friendly room which had plenty of space for us all - and the whole of the pub was accessible to our dog which made our stay more relaxing. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfasts were very good too. We chose to eat in the pub on two evenings over our stay and on both occasions enjoyed an excellent meal.

Our ensuite bathroom was clean and perfectly adequate however it was very tired and careworn. Another bathroom was being replaced so it is possible that this will be the intention for this one too. The stairway was a bit grimy but with workmen in and out, this may be understandable.

The food, both breakfast and evening meals were top class, this made up for the slightly lack lustre room and made the price still competitive. The staff were lovely and service was very good. The pub was cosy with sofas round a wood burner for relaxing in the evening.

The room was not quite what I was expecting from the booking photographs. We were in room 4 which I now realise is the lower end of what is on offer. The bathroom was tiny and in need of an upgrade, the bed was also small (not quite double size) but the bed and pillows were very comfy, which is the main thing! Overall this room needs a spruce up.

Great place to stay, easy access and lovely staff. Very comfortable bed, room nicely decorated. Quirky old building with sloping floor! Good menu and superb food - I had a delicious home-made pork and leek pie with perfectly cooked vegetables. And the best breakfast ever! Smashed avocado with poached eggs on sourdough toast with baked tomato and rocket - amazing fresh ingredients. Enjoyed my stay, felt very well looked after.

Took me a while to find the car park as it’s just over the road. Some traffic but good double glazed sash windows keep the noise out.

Wayne and his staff were very friendly throughout our stay. The room was spacious, comfortable bed and plenty refreshments including bottles caring water. The en-suite bathroom had fantastic free-standing bath that I enjoyed relaxing in. The shower was very nice and also the supplied toiletries were really welcoming. The food was delicious and breakfast each morning was amazing 🤩 🤩

We liked everything 👌👌Although there’s not much parking available it wasn’t really a problem for us

Family weekend away. Rooms all next to each other as requested. I had room 1. Bathroom had free standing Bath as well as a separate shower and was HUGE! Crisp white sheets on the bed (Which for my taste could have been a little firmer but we all like different levels of support). Tea/coffee/biscuits/water in room. Excellent breakfasts. Highly recommend Smashed avocado/poached eggs on toast) Ate in the pub the first night. Evening slightly marred by the slow service but they had a couple of large parties in so I think we were just unlucky that night. ALL staff were AMAZING, friendly/helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Would we go back.....OH YES and very soon I hope!

Evening food and Breakfast was great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant was friendly we had two dogs and we were well excepted although there was no on site parking it wasn’t to difficult to get into a space on the off site car park although I would avoid arriving at traditional peak pub hrs. A great stay

Nothing we didn’t like tbh. Sink in the bathroom was awkward to use and the room being on the corner of the building got all the traffic noise. But nothing can be done about that and certainly not a down on this stay.

Breakfast was expertly cooked, presented well and tasted divine. The location was great and as it was the last Monday in the month it was quiz night. We had a fabulous time teaming up with some locals and a great laugh. Wayne, who was our host, was a very nice friendly person to know and made us most welcome. The room was clean and tidy and spacious. All in all the stay was lovely.

The only issue, if I had one, was the car park was slightly up the road. But you can park outside to unload your luggage.

Serving freshly cooked Eggs Royale will always earn 5 stars from me! A pot of peppermint tea added to my joy. My room was comfortable and warm. The staff at dinner and breakfast were attentive, friendly and helpful. My beef was an evening treat with loads of fresh vegetables and some excellent wine. Obviously a popular, well-run, local pub.

The car park was packed when I arrived and my small car only just fitted into the only space, but there was some room for parking on the road.

My stay at the Oakhill was exceptional. My room was very clean, and the room had refreshments of good quality. I dined at the pub in the evening and my meal was very good as was breakfast. Good quality and well-cooked. There is a potential for traffic noise to disturb you as the hotel is adjacent to a road. My room (number 1) was further away from the main road and was fine for me. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here!

I had no complaints.
