Our three person party had two different rooms, and the other one was practically a spacious suite with a beautiful, high ceiling. We also had a bath tub and a massive bed. Breakfast was very good, the mushrooms and tomatoes were very well seasoned. The service was great and helpful. There was a good parking space in the backyard. The location is handy for traveling to Isle of Skye, if you don't get a room from the island.

The building is old, so there are no elevators, but a lot of stairs and steps which might pose a problem with handicapped people or just people with large, heavy luggage.

The staff makes this hotel a delight, from Rose at the front desk to David in the restaurant, they made it such a memorable stay and management should commend them.. The rooms on the ground floor still have several sets of three stairs for those booking with mobility issues. Otherwise, a perfect place to overnight after a long train ride. It is just around the block from the train station and a block from bus stops for those traveling without a car. The restaurant was lovely and even had gluten-free stickey toffee pudding!!! Let them know your dietary restrictions and they will have options for you!

If you have mobility issues, this may not be the hotel for you, simply due to the layout of the ground floor rooms. Be sure to ask.

The location was great. Almost everyone was very nice and friendly. The dinner was delicious and the bar was fun. My room was comfortable and the bathroom was nice a big. I don't understand why the bathroom light switch is on the outside of the bathroom though. Maybe that's a UK thing.

Again the light switch on the outside of the bathroom. I realize there is no fixing that. Need more hooks or shelving in the bathroom. I wasn't a fan of the breakfast. Waffles or pancakes would be a nice addition. And I don't want to cost anyone their job or anything but the older, balding, gentleman wasn't very pleasant. To me or my fellow travelers. If you're going to work in hospitality. Be hospitable.

Lovely hotel - photos & description are an accurate depiction. Central location for shops, restaurants & convenient walking distance from the railway station. Very comfortable double-room with modern bathroom & shower mixer tap operation that was so simple & not the typical, usual UK 'adventure of discovery' ! As my husband & I are in our ‘senior’ years, I requested if possible, a room on the ground floor - being from Australia & travelling for 2 & a half months, our suitcases were a little heavier than normal (!) & having to negotiate stairs somewhat of a challenge !!! Happily my request was promptly answered & able to be met with a guarantee that we'd be accommodated in a ground floor room - I /we sincerely appreciated this consideration. Both upon check-in & check-out the following day, we were welcomed & farewelled by very efficient, professional members of reception staff. We enjoyed a lovely meal & drink in the bar in the evening on the night of our arrival & a hearty breakfast the following morning. We highly recommended this hotel to future guests.

Thanks, we really enjoyed our stay at the kyle, great location for a well needed bit of down time on a big trip. We really got to like Kyle of Lochalsh.

We booked many months ago and its a shame we were put in the basement rooms with stairs for our cases. I think we could have had better prioriity. The sound travelling down from upstairs bedroom with a person who was actively walking about until very late was annoying. Sound travel is an issue and our rooms werent of the updated ones this hotel is clearly doing.

Bedding was comfortable. Parking was convenient. Breakfast buffet was great. Close to the Isle of Skye bridge. Close to the grocery store. I would stay there again.

Water pressure in the shower was poor. The water system made noise and when we showered the noise was an issue with the guest in the adjacent room and they called the front desk to complain which resulted in a visit by the desk clerk the clerk thought we had left the bathroom fan running however it wasn't the fan it was the pump associated with the water system.

Wanted to be near Skye so choice is limited. Half board at the Kyle chosen which was in the perfect place and good and clean and comfortable. Staff very attentive and helpful. Coffees in the bar are excellent as was the Tia Maria Coffee I had one night - best I had had in a long time. Evening meals were at sensible times and had reasonably good choices. All cooked very well. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Security possibly - the door leading to bedrooms could be accessed from the outside and was rarely locked. Wasn't a problem - didn't see anyone strange wandering about - but if anything this is what could be addressed.

Good place to stay on a road trip. Room had everything we needed, including comfy beds, excellent en-suite bathroom with shower (seemed to be refurbished and rather hot/powerful), pristine fluffy towels, great tea station. The option to have food right on the premises is always much appreciated. Hotel has a decent-sized parking lot round the back.

Soundproofing in our room seemed to be rather poor - no big deal for us, it was a rather quiet Sunday night, but at one point we could hear the guests in the next room using the electricity plugs. Dinner in the lounge bar was a bit underwhelming - mixed seafood grill was just two fillets of white fish (average) + some scampi (very good).

You don't get much value for money on Skye, but given this hotel is just over the bridge, this is a superb alternative to actually staying on Skye. We booked an exec room, easily the best upgrade money you will ever spend. room was big, as was the bed and bathroom. Had a great night sleep, just what was needed after 4 nights on the islands, where rooms and beds were all tiny.

We didn't stay for breakfast as struggled to justify the additional cost. the room was close to the stairs from reception, so there was some noise, also some noise from outside, but that's the only downside.

Excellent location,breakfast was good and included in the price. It was expensive , however, compared to other places we stayed in but understandable given the location .

Would have liked there to have been more information regarding transport to and from Skye given that we were reliant on public transport. There was very little information about anything and it was only through talking to locals that we discovered what we needed for our limited trip to Skye. Bar did not open until 4pm and we arrived early and could not access our room or get a drink which was frustrating.
