Lovely hostel, people who work there are very friendly, easy to meet people in the bar, especially as it’s quite a small hostel. I enjoyed the quietness of the location, was a bit far from usual attractions but I was happy to be in a more relaxed area. They also let me shower when I arrived after a long flight which was kind of them.

Was a bit small, beds were ok. Events weren’t great. Was dark in the kitchen. Did have some noisy people in the hostel one night.

The staff are friendly, really nice, and helpfu!l The bar on the first floor is also comfortable and cozy, providing a great space to meet other travelers and socialize. The rooms are nice overall. The fifth floor has a more capsule-style layout, which I didn’t like, but the rest of the rooms, especially the female dorms, were comfortable. They have curtains, which is a great feature. There’s a great atmosphere with both the staff and visitors. When they heard the rooms were cold at night, they immediately adjusted the AC temperature and fixed the issue. Would recommend! .

The location isn’t very central, and there are a lot of small stairs to climb to get to the rooms. Also, you need to pay for a towel. The staff clean daily from 11 to 11:30, which is good, but they can be annoyingly loud. They talk very loudly and make a lot of noise, which can be disruptive if you’re still in bed. If you’re not a morning person or came back late from hanging out, keep this in mind.

Started my Japan trip at Bedgasm and spent 11 nights there, I already miss it, the vibes are great, the staff is super nice and friendly and it's a great place to socialize thanks to the bar on the first floor. Got close to many people and so many ended up extending their stay! Location in really nice, close to Ueno and Asakusa, away from the chaos but it's easy to reach it with the closest metro stop being just a 6min walk away. No elevator but everyone helps each other with the luggages up and down the stairs. The room (girls only on 3F) is comfy, beds are spacious and it's warm, there's even a vanity area with lit up mirrors. Will def go back my next time in Tokyo.

If I have to find a small flaw is that the bathrooms/showers area is very cold (in january at least)

It was very social! I enjoy chats in the kitchen and bar areas. They give a free beer in the evening and a drink on arrival. They were very informative and provided things to see and do around the area including best places to eat (top 100 ramen places). I can confirm Kagari ramen was the best I had in Japan! Everything was clean and refreshed. There was natural lighting throughout the hostel. Close to the train station. The area felt residential but I liked that.

I found the stairs a little hard to get up and down with my backpack as it was quite narrow and steep.

I stayed for one night only, but it was a very nice stay. The bed was comfortable, it was surprisingly quiet for a room full of guests, and it wasn’t too hot (which I was worried about). The contact with the staff was very nice too, the number of messages with the information about my stay and more was surprising in the most pleasant way. I was late to check in, as I arrived late in the evening, but it was not a problem, I just completed it the next day.

I took a cold shower, because there was no hot water, but that might be a ‘me’ problem, as I arrived dead on my feet and might have done sth wrong ^^;

- Good location, close to transport links - Very clean - Good facilities with body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided for free - Towels, earplugs and assorted toiletries available at a small cost - Spacious bunks with valuables locker - Very kind and welcoming staff - Great atmosphere Great hostel. In addition to everything else, everyone at the hostel wants you to enjoy your time there and in Tokyo. A variety of activities are organised by the hostel that provides opportunities for socialising and learning more about the country/language like calligraphy lessons. The staff have great language skills and were able to speak in English when my Japanese, often, failed. I will be returning to Japan and when I do, I will be staying at Hostel Bedgasm again.

Only downside was that there was no fan on the fifth floor where I stayed, which did result in the dorm getting hot at night if the windows weren't open.

The staff were really helpful & friendly. I've stayed here twice now and I can't really imagine myself staying anywhere else in Tokyo. The location is great, since you're not too far away from the major tourist hotspots but at the same time it feels much quieter and more relaxed. The bar is a massive plus and what initially drew me here, especially if you're a solo traveller it makes for a great place to meet other people. I'll definitely be back!

Best hostel I’ve been to! Has the most friendly atmosphere, the staff are also very friendly and helpful and speak english well. At the evening some of the people staying in the hostel are sitting in the bar and it’s very welcoming for everyone to join, and there are some local people who even come to practice their english. When I checked out I needed to send my luggage with the post office delivery service, and Kasumi even offered to help me with it!

There’s a bit of a bad smell when you enter the bar

A place that’s equal parts cozy, social, and ever-so-slightly chaotic. Bedgasm as the name says it all - it’s euphoric mix of comfy bed and good vibes. The atmosphere? Buzzing! The staff? Absolute legends! If you fancy a hostel that feels like a mate’s place but with cleaner sheets, this is the one. 10/10 would be Bedgasm again.

This was one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at whilst travelling. The staff were so lovely, welcoming and always there to help. Great social area especially in the evening and you get a free beer every night. The location is quite far out of the centre but the transport is fantastic so it didn’t matter. A 7/11 just down the road too which was perfect. Such clean facilities. I’ll definitely be back to stay here!
