It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Beacon Hermitage. Even before arriving, Jim and Joe were extremely thoughtful, considerate and welcoming, making our check-in and stay easy and comfortable after a long day of traveling. They are very attentive and gracious hosts, anticipating our needs and respecting our privacy. The breakfast was excellent each morning of our stay, and the residence and surrounding grounds were beautiful, peaceful, and exciting to explore. We came to Beacon without a strong idea of what to do, and Jim made excellent suggestions. They have lived in the area for a long time and know it very well. Our room was comfortable, and the entire home was very clean and well-decorated! We’ll be back!

The grounds of the property were a pleasure to explore. Behind the house there’s a hill that overlooks the property where they’ve cut several little paths up, with multiple little sitting areas and nooks. The house itself is very cozy with a lovely dining room and sitting area. The rooms are very spacious, ours having a large walk-in closet. Two IMMACULATE bathrooms upstairs and downstairs, both equipped with a shower, so even though they are shared with other guests, it never felt like it. Great location, just minutes from downtown Beacon. Additionally, there’s a path from the property into the woods that leads to a small waterfall with a pool you’re able to swim in. Gorgeous!
If there was something not to like here, then I missed it amidst all the things to love.

The attention of Jim and Joe was beyond any expectation as they helped me with logistics and picked me up even a couple of times in the train station of Cold Spring .
I found was I was looking for.. and there are always things to be improved in any accommodation but the place, the forest surrounding and the attitude made everything incredible . Actually I m coming back in December for my new visit tot New York for work.

Jim and Joe communicate very well and were very nice with us. They were thoughtful and made sure we had everything we needed. The house is very well decorated and the Blue Room was comfy, clean and had everything we needed, including towels, a coffee machine and hair dryer. Breakfast was homemade and was good before a big hike! Easily accessible by taxi/Uber from the centre of Beacon.
Walls are not super well isolated but that's a house so understandable.

Jim and Joe are outstanding hosts who truly care about their guests. They consistently checked in to make sure everything was perfect and made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our stay. Their friendliness and local knowledge were invaluable offering great advice on things to do in Beacon. Thanks to their hospitality, we felt completely comfortable and had an amazing experience at Beacon Hermitage. I can’t imagine better hosts for our visit!

The Beacon Hermitage is the perfect place for a Hudson Valley weekend getaway. We loved this space! The bed and breakfast is decorated with wonderful antiques and paintings, and very quaint and lovely. Our room (the Green Room) was very comfortable, quiet, and romantic. The location – halfway between Beacon and Cold Spring and a close drive to both – was perfect, and the B&B is nestled right up against the mountain and state park. There is easy access to all the nearby attractions and hiking, and there were plenty of ride-shares that we used with no problems. The owner, Jim, was the most gracious host I’ve ever met and a great guy! He drove us into Beacon one day and gave us a driving tour on Main Street of all the best shops and restaurants – his knowledge of the area is unparalleled! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Nothing - it was perfect.

The place is perfectly located, not too far from the town and in the middle of the hiking trail. The host was delightful, he offered us some figs from their three, made sure we had everything we needed. In the morning, they bake some delicious pastries and he gave us directions for hikes. He even drove us to the town a couple of times. Great exoerience
Nothing!

We loved everything about this adorable bed and breakfast! To start, the homemade pastries baked daily by the owners were French bakery worthy! All the beautiful art adorning the common areas were so lovely to study. My favorite part of the Hermitage was the gorgeous terraced garden that had all these cute little seating areas nestled in the trees and flower beds.
Nothing.

Rev. Jim was an absolute sweetheart and a great host. He was very generous and helped us get into the town by driving us because we didn’t rent a car- which definitely saved us some money but also was nice to see the town that way- and he also let us know we could visit the Blue Barn, where we had breakfast in the morning. The property blew me away it was so beautiful and also eclectic and unique with statues, flowers, and a running creek/waterfall right on the property. The room was very pretty & comfy and I felt safe there. We will definitely return!!! My partners birthday went perfectly. Thank you!!!!

Our stay at Beacon Hermitage was so special. It was lovely to be greeted by such a kind and welcoming host. The little touches he added - like a birthday cupcake for my wife's birthday or hot cider for the chillier days - made it even more memorable. We went with our small, shy dog who was welcomed and loved on by the hosts. I think he really came out of his shell by being there! The house is beautifully decorated with art and comfy furniture, so we enjoyed cozy breakfasts in the dining room and reading books in the lounge. Our room was also great for watching a movie and vegging out, with an awesome view of tree-covered hills. The microwave and fridge in the room's closet was especially helpful when we wanted to snack on leftovers. The bathroom is shared, but we were the only guests at the time, but had no trouble storing our toiletries in our room since there is plenty of room in the closet as well as a dresser and mirror in the room. The gardens are equally decorated and expansive, leading to various places to sit and enjoy the sun and even a longer trail. The b+b is a short and straight-forward drive from Beacon and Cold Spring and we had no problem driving into town to explore and eat. We can't wait to visit in the Summer!
