The comfortable treehouses were beautifully made amongst the tree canopy, the views from the communal restaurant were stunning, the staff friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful, walking distance to the clean picturesque beach - amazing sunset spot, lovely place for swimming, a selection of a few delicious restaurants and our highlight, Roots Hill Cafe, a chill reggae bar with the most stunning place to swim of our trip.

Due to the impressive location, the steep steps, walkways, hand rails and high balconies were a safety challenge for our young family. Our 4.5 year old coped well but it was less relaxing for us to ensure the safety of our active 2 year old for the duration of our stay.

We loved the rustic and beautiful setting on the beach on rural Koh Jum. The beach is in good condition with a nice mix of rocky areas for snorkeling (I saw a turtle, barracuda, and schools of fish), and sandy beach which was great for swimming. Several good food options and two relaxing reggae bars on each side of the beach sandwich Jungle Hill. Lots of wildlife in the area too. Beautiful birds, monkeys, crabs, and fish. Several adorable cats wander the property, and plenty of friendly beach dogs too. The staff were kind and accommodating. We felt well taken care of. The massage on the beach was also great.

Come prepared with your own toiletries because options are sparse nearby. The bed was fairly hard but they offered a topper which helped. It seems the water is trucked in, and once during our week long stay they ran out (no shower during that time) and it took a couple hours before they had another delivery. But that was fine, the laid back island vibe means no worries.

The bungalow location was fabulous. It was however a bit annoying the trees had not been pruned back so you could see the sea.

I’m sorry to say I was in disbelief when I saw the state of the multiple sets of stairs ( this resort not for those with mobility/ health/ balance issues. Uneven set of degrading concrete steps , steps of varying size of steps , with no handrails. I had a fairly steep set of steps outside my bungalow that had a wooden hand rail as soon as I put weight on it it snapped off and fell over. I complained and Maliwan got it sorted asap. Maliwan and her team respond really well. All in all it did dampen my experience as I was perpetually worried about taking a tumble. But the superb restaurant food wonderful friendly staff, still made it a huge pleasure. Please go and enjoy just watch your footing. The team at Jungle Hill I rate 10 out 10 Many thanks Tim

I stayed in a beachfront bungalow and it was superb. Sleeping to the sound of the waves, the beautiful sunsets, the quiet peaceful atmosphere, it was glorious. A Long Beach to walk along , with a number of different restaurant choices. The massage lady at the resort was 10/10 amazing! Food delicious with a lot of choices and the staff were fabulous; friendly helpful and kind. I loved my stay here. Stayed 6 nights & left the resort only once. Highly recommend

Only point to mention is there are some steep steps to get from reception & restaurant to beach and also to where the scooters are parked. It took a few climbs to get used to it, though was surprising how quickly it became easier.

The bungalows are in an excellent location on a hill overlooking the water, with direct access to the beach. Due to the hill, you've got to walk up and down some steps to get to the beach and to the reception/restaurant. This might be a challenge for those with accessibility challenges.. but for most, it should be no big deal, and it's worth it for the location. The kind staff will help you bring your bags up and down as needed. The food in the hotel's restaurant is varied, tasty, and reasonably priced. There are also several restaurants within walking distance, either along the beach or down the road. At the end of my stay, I was able to easily arrange a taxi back to the local pier, and the staff escorted me down the hill with umbrellas since it was raining. I felt very well cared for!

The shower in my bathroom was not great -- cold water, minimal pressure, no holder for the shower head. There are some snorkels you can borrow for free, but none were in really great condition as far as I could tell. You can rent a motorbike directly from the reception, but there are no helmets available. In general, there were quite a few groups and families, so the restaurant could get a bit crowded and loud around meal times. But otherwise, it didn't both me as a solo traveler.

We stayed for 6 nights and such a relaxing time. Coming from a bungalow with AC and less jungle feeling before we were a little nervous, bit directly fell in love with the place, the people and the nature. The food was super good (Chu Chee Baracuda, I miss you), the beach next the bungalows is really beautiful, offers snorkeling spots and some more food and bar options if desired. The massage was really nice. The bungalow had a ventilator and we could sleep really well listening to the waves. It was cleaned every day, got new sheets every second day. The team was really nice and could help us with all requests including booking a snorkeling tour Koh Rok and Koh Haa which was a unique and impressive experience. Also enjoying live music and drinks served in coconut shells at roots cafe while watching the sunset was one of our highlights.

I small fridge in the bungalow would have been really nice.

We chanced upon this place and it was exactly what we were looking for - a simple bungalow overlooking the beach. The room was a decent size and the bathroom pretty basic, and it had a lovely deck overlooking the beach and we thought it was the best beach on the island as well. The breakfast was ok, the staff very friendly. There are a number of places to eat along the beach and along the road nearby.

There is no wifi in the rooms, only in the restaurant area. There is no fridge nor air con in the rooms - we knew that when we booked it but just so you are aware.

Just gorgeous! We stayed here for 3 nights and were so sad to leave. The service is wonderful, we received a beautiful welcome and always felt taken care of. The beach is stunning and the sunsets are breathtaking. 💖 The room is comfortable and the beds are great. It’s basic living but you have everything you need. This is the perfect place to switch off and spend some quiet time. Koh Jum is very rural and beautiful. The breakfast and other menu options are also delicious. We would love to come back in the future. If anyone find anything wrong with Jungle Hill, I’m quite sure the problem is with them and not the hotel 😉🙏 Thank you so much to all the wonderful staff at jungle hill!

The huts are very basic, but everything works as it should and if anything adds to the charm of the place. The location is excellent, but the best part was the service. Food and drinks were exceptional, they provide a laundry service, bikes, cigarettes and you can use the kayaks on the beach for free.

The stairs down to reception and the beach are very steep, fine for me but wouldn’t be good if you have mobility issues. The grey cat has a bit of a temper, he was fine with me but be wary with children.

The location is so beautiful it’s beyond words, food at the on site restaurant was great, staff were very friendly and helpful, we were well taken care of. We stayed in a sea view cabin and it was gorgeous, yes it was basic but that was the charm, hearing the sea in the morning when you wake up, and straight down the steps for a swim. It was perfect.. wish I had booked to stay longer, we will definitely be back to stay for longer.
