Very well located, cute building, good breakfast, charming area. I liked that we were able to go to our room early (about 12PM)!

The room was not well cleaned. There was sand all over the floor and inside the shower. The AC was noisy, and the room smelled moist.

The hotel is very close to the beach and has a very nice porch.

Sadly we didn’t have any hand soap or shower gel in our room. We asked the staff for it and she said she would take care of it. She didn’t!

We were first-time visitors to the area and were there to enjoy live music in Asbury Park venues which were easily walkable from Ocean Grove for two 50-somethings. The inn was very clean, easy to find, ample parking (in December), and just steps from the beach and boardwalk. There was no check in or check out, which was actually very nice. We received a text saying our room was ready (three hours before check in time!) and directions to our room with our unique room code. Easy peasy! We will definitely return and recommend!

I imagine that parking could be an issue in the summer months, but in December there were more than enough spaces right in front of the inn.

The value of the hotel, given the amazing location was exceptional and the innkeeper was very kind and helpful. The front porch and downstairs area were so lovely, the cookies, cold drink and coffee were an added and appreciated bonus. The small fridge with freezer in our room was very helpful. Easy contact less check in and check out. The location was absolutely perfect, super close to everything, just steps from the beach and a very short walk into Asbury Park.

It would be helpful if the room had some storage to put items away besides the closet (shelves, drawers, etc). It was just two of us for two nights, so it wasn't an issue for our stay. It's an older building, so we heard a lot of footsteps/people above us, but it didn't bother us. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

The location was lovely on a very pretty street adjacent to the beach. It was the perfect location for accessing the beach and the Main Ave shops. It rained during our stay but we found things to do including shopping at the Outlet Mall and sitting on the porch sipping coffee and wine. The linens were crisp and clean, the room was well laid out and had just enough for a beach front (3 buildings away) property. The main floor / lobby area decor was really stunning, well designed with comfortable seating. The inn felt a bit like a convert boarding house, narrow stairs and hallways, but it's an older building, so this wasn't a deal breaker or anything, just something to note. It's a very quiet locaion, the people who were walking by tended to be in their 40's-70's, no loud music. The innkeeper said the property was fully booked, but we didn't hear any of the other guests after 9pm.

The coffee bar could be improved by adding a Keurig or Nespresso, I was missing a non-dairy option for a creamer.

Breakfast was great, location excellent. We stayed on the 2nd floor Junior suite, beautiful spacious room with very large balcony and view if the ocean. Inn keeper was great, helpful and pleasant. Great to have snacks and coffee out during the day and at night. Thank you for such a lovely stay, we will be back.

A suggestion would be to fix the loose toilet seat in the bathroom and also the toilet paper is not on a rack holder… would much better to get a free standing rack. Also the chairs and tables on the balcony are somewhat worn and approaching needling to be painted/cleaned up a bit Everything else was fabulous!

Check-in was seamless, quick, and welcoming since we received all the information to access our room hours before our arrival.—exactly what you hope for after a long journey. Bernadette was an absolute gem! Her warm hospitality and attention to detail made our stay truly special. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-appointed with everything we needed. Breakfast was a delight—fresh, delicious, and with plenty of options to suit all tastes. It was the perfect way to start each day! Check-out was just as smooth as check-in, making for a stress-free departure. This hotel exceeded all expectations, thanks in large part to Bernadette’s exceptional service. Highly recommend!

I love this spot. Accessible on foot to so much in Ocean Grove and Asbury Park. The Beach Liner has its operations in great hands with Bernadette! Everything was well presented, welcoming and easy going. Wish I could stay longer and look forward to returning.bi thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts, and snacks! Big improvement from the last owners. Thank you Bernadette for being so welcoming.

I did not have a bad experience or transaction. The only confusion was getting the hot water to work ( it was reversed in the shower, the Cold is actually the Hot). In an old building from the 1800's, not unusual, at my age, I should have known better to try that myself before inquiring! lol!ank you for being so welcoming

Great beds, coffee/tea in the room. Lovely breakfast with fresh fruit salad, croissants, waffles. For breakfast we sat out on the porch watching the sea which is approx 75 meters away. Really good location, very near the sea and only 10 minutes walk over the nice boardwalk to Asbury Park. Parking in front or near the property. Any questions got answered very quickly by Bernadette, the innkeeper.

Not really anything we did not like. The floor in the room was uneven, sloping a little bit but that is to be expected in those older wooden properties and for us added to the charm of the place. The space around the sink/toilet in the bathroom was perhaps a bit cramped, but there was a full bath with shower over, so perfectly fine.

The location, price, breakfast included and ease of check-in were great, but the real star of this property is the innkeeper, Bernadette. All of the reviews mentioning how lovely Bernadette is, is the reason why I booked at The Beachliner. My husband and I really enjoyed sitting and talking with her in the lobby - it's clear she loves her job and pours a lot of love into the inn. We were visiting for work and she was kind enough to store our bags for us after checkout so we could enjoy the area before we left to go back home. We enjoyed our stay so much, we went ahead and booked a room for our next business trip before we left. The location can't be beat, the breakfast was fresh and delicious and the room was comfortable. Street parking was plentiful as it is the offseason. Can't wait to come back!

Not at all a complaint for us, but if you have mobility issues, be mindful there is no elevator as it is a historic building.
