The staff were so friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Jannie and Thabo that assisted us with fixing our car. All the staff made my husband's birthday so special. The lovely Lucy was just a bonus. The beauty of the area is unmatched, and the food and service was spectacular.

Nothing it was superb

What a special place nestled in the mountains. Our accommodation was wonderful. We had the Penthouse which was so comfortable, easily fit our family of 4. Very close to the main reception, swimming pool and cafe. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. So helpful and friendly. We decided from night 1 we’d eat in the restaurant as the food was delicious and the menu changed each night. We would 100% visit again. Yes, there is a gravel road for about 20 mins but once you’ve done it once it’s not so bad. Just slow and steady.

The hotel advised us to arrive before dark, but we could not make it. Driving down the municipality road with a sedan car through the night and the fog was a bit tense. The amount of lighting in the cottage could be improved, it was a bit too dark at night.

Our stay at Mount Sheba Rainforest Hotel and Resort was nothing short of extraordinary. One of the highlights was our hike to Marco’s Mantle waterfall. The experience was both invigorating and serene, surrounded by the tranquil forest and the soothing sound of cascading water. Dima’s clear and thoughtful guidance ensured we navigated the trails with ease. For anyone visiting Mount Sheba, exploring the waterfalls and hiking trails is an absolute must—it’s an experience that truly connects you with nature. The accommodations were a delightful blend of elegance and comfort. Cozy fireplaces made our evenings wonderfully relaxing, while pre-heated blankets added a touch of luxury on chilly nights. The staff went above and beyond, offering warm hospitality and impeccable attention to detail. The meals, from hearty breakfasts to satisfying dinners, were a true culinary treat. Mount Sheba is a haven of tranquility, offering breathtaking scenery and activities for visitors of all ages. It was the perfect family retreat, and we are already looking forward to returning and creating more unforgettable memories. This destination is a gem for anyone seeking peace, adventure, and the charm of nature’s finest!

We truly loved everything about the property—it’s a fantastic destination with exceptional value for money. However, one piece of advice for future visitors: plan to arrive during daylight hours, particularly if you’re driving a vehicle with low clearance. The road leading to the property can be a bit challenging, but the journey is worth it once you arrive. 😁

The location is fantastic. The staff are friendly, warm and welcoming. Dhansile and Mavis are an asset to the hotel and are well trained in service excellence. The food was outstanding, both breakfast and dinner options. Tania is on the ball and everything seems to run like clockwork. Hiking hiking hiking, the trails are magnificent.

Rooms are a little dated and the cappuccinos could be better. The rocky road to the Hotel could use a makeover. Other then that i don't believe there was anything else we could fault at Mt Sheba.

Very nice and quiet surroundings with great walking trails. The hotel is 'oldschool' colonial so you need to like this style, but if you do it is great. We had an executive room with fire place and very comfortable furniture and beds. Breakfast and diner were good quality; not exceptional but certainly enjoyable. Staff was very friendly and helpful! For those who like a quiet beautiful location for walking, this is a perfect place.

The 7km drive to the resort has some very dusty and rocky parts, so you'll need to drive very slow. High clearance vehicle certainly recommended. Some external parts of the building might look a bit outdated, but never problematic. Inside all clean and comfortable. Because we were visiting in low season the bar was not open; but when we asked at the reception, someone came to open it. The bar is very nice one by the way, beautiful interior.

The setting is hard to beat. For people who appreciate quiet and solitude at times, this resort is near perfect. We have nothing but praise for the attentive, pleasant staff. The food was excellent!

The room (6) we stayed in could benefit from the following 1) a small wardrobe under the staircase. Not all older people like having to climb stairs several times when getting dressed. 2) the soap holder for the bath should be removed or moved to wards the tap. It’s loose probably because most bathers bump it and 3) the door/s leading to the garden should get hooks to stop gusts of wind banging it shut.
