Service at lunch was slow and our waitress got the order totally wrong!

Game drive. Young children on our drive who were very noisy and loud, especially when we were close to animals as they got over excited. Drivers should at the beginning of the drive should ask everyone, especially children, to keep quiet when in the vicinity of animals.

The location of Bakubung at the entrance of the Pilansberg National Park. The room had great facilities and lots of extra for example the evening turn- down service. The wonderful options at breakfast and dinner buffet -Excellent. Great game drives with knowledgable guides. Great swimming pool with towel service. Wonderful friendly staff everywhere.

We arrived with bat droppings in our room and bat appeared the evening. We had to switch off lights and let the bat out ourselves. Unhealthy staying there with bat droppings and smell in the room. The game drive guides "etiket" of driving in the Pilansberg - speeding and bumping the front side mirror in haste at a sighting.

Beautiful location, the property is stunning. Our room was beautiful and luxurious. The food is amazing.

One:The waiters at the restaurant give special preferential treatment to white people, local whites and international. As a local black couple they were not as friendly, talkative and conversation as they were with the white groups. I tip very well but when I noticed the difference in treatment and just didn’t want to tip anymore. People say black people don’t tip but want they don’t understand is we don’t get an equal service so we are not motivated to tip generously. Two: for such an expensive luxury place I was expecting my room to get cleaned every day like most hotels do. They only came in to make the bed only. They didn’t clean the bathroom or tidy the place for us. No impressive.

Just back from a one night stay. We did two safari’s one early evening and an early morning one. Safaris were very well organised. Very well organised and tasty dinner at the end of the early evening safari and very good breakfast at the end of the early morning safari, both included in the price. Lovely swimming pool in the complex.

We had the buffet lunch on arrival which was not included in the cost. I would avoid this as we felt very expensive for what you got. Food at the pool bar was better value for money.

The executive room was nice and big with a king bed, couch and good size balcony. Bathroom large with 2 basins and his and her wardrobe… very comfortable. Clean and daily towels and turn down of bed plus coffee machine in room. Game drives were good though be prepared to see or not see the cats .. 3 hours drive and some might find that too long. We did 5 drives and 3 of the drives were brill the other 2 disappointing so if only going for a couple of days you may not see much. The Boma was fabulous and the food was great as well as the entertainment.

Pool cold, loungers uncomfortable, wine never cold.

Bakubung Bush Lodge is an amazing place to rest, relax, recharge, and to go for Game Drives in the Pilanesberg National Park. The price includes 1 game drive. We took the afternoon drive and saw the BIG 5 plus many other animals. A wonderful experience. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the breakfast buffet is fantastic, the small lobby is beautiful as it is open and overlooking a waterhole where Hippos, elephants, zebras and other animals came to graze and bath. Stunning.

The pool and the sun lounger area would benefit from an upgrade. The restaurant probably too, although it is comfy and the service was great throughout.

Good room, nice and big with lots of room. Breakfast options and dinner is excellent. Service can be a bit slow where there are large numbers of tourists but in general really good and great experience.

Children on the game drives, there should be an age restriction on children that can be taken on game drives younger children get bored and or exited and can be very noise where the parents are not in control, this spoils the experience for everyone else. The game drivers were very accommodating when we asked to be moved to another vehicle. The main tar roads in the reserve are in really bad condition, clearly no money being spent on upkeep of roads and hides that are all deteriorating.

They have a full board package meaning whatever you paid includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and a morning and evening game drive. Everything for my 5 year old child was free. There's a kiddies play area with swings and trampoline and a kiddies room . Swimming pool . Saturdays they have a boma braai for those who love their pap and meat.

The game drive takes 3 hours .If check out can be around 11am to accommodate for those who went for 5:30 am game drive to be able to enjoy the buffet breakfast and still go back to the room to get ready.

It was a very short but pleasant stay. The rooms are slightly dated, but they fit the atmosphere and location of the hotel. There were many small animals around the hotel, so it got the international guests exited

The roads are in bad condition for the game drive, so take that in mind when you book a game drive because it can get really bumpy. My colleagues went, and they did enjoy the first half hour of the drive, but then said it was too bumpy and they could not concentrate on much except holding onto the vehicle.
