August 2024

Room was updated and very clean and comfortable. A/C worked great (we were there in August and it was hot). Very close to Seoraksan national park; you can walk the 2 miles to the entrance if you don't care to wait for the bus. It's also easy to catch the bus as it picks up just a block or two away from the hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful despite the language barrier.

Note that the English name on the sign doesn't exactly match the name on the Booking.com page, but the street number matches. The common areas of the hotel are not as up to date as the rooms, which was fine for us but may not be the vibe you expect from the photos. The town around the hotel is quite run down with many abandoned buildings and there are not a lot of nearby shops and restaurants. However, we took the very fancy pedestrian walkway to the local GS25 convenience store which was great and had everything we needed.

Spotless rooms for a very good price. Free shampoo, noodles, breakfast and coffee. The area is a bit run down with lots of empty hotels, no clue why, but that doesn’t make it feel unsafe. The owners great and does his best to make you feel comfortable. There’s a direct bus going to the park. We chose to walk back from the park which took 40min. You can also stay in Sokcho, but we liked the calm vibe outside of the chaotic city and close to the park.

The village doesn’t have many food options, but there are some and alternatively the owner offers free noodles.

Great hotel, rooms (korean style) very big, warm and comfortable, with a large bathroom and a mini kitchen. Staff is excellent, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, too, enough food and enough variety. Loved it!

The hotel will soon need some modernization and the area is unfortunately a little downgraded (full of decadent hotels and touristic structures that evidently degraded because of a low touristic flow). It is quite close to the Seoraksan N.P. (15min walking to the entrance), but not close enough in the evening, when you are dead tired after a day of trekking. Luckily there is a bus that drives from the entrance (in 5min you are at the hotel).

The property is very clean, albeit in a quite part where there are lots of old buildings due to a massive influx of tourism that then reduced so lots of empty places. however this place is great! comfy beds, clean. free noodles, coffee, soft drinks. free laundry service. the owners don’t speak English but will easily translate via google and be sure helpful. they bought us beer at the chicken shop and drove into town to give us information leaflets! Wi-Fi is good and easily accessible to the park via walk (30-45 mins) or bus. would definitely recommend and stay again.

only issue is the shower takes about 5-10 minutes to warm up. so run it before you get in otherwise will be a long wait!

Pretty close to the Seoraksan mountains which was definitely the highlight. Free drinks in the lobby which was convenient. Room was big and you could watch YouTube and Netflix on the tv.

Beds were very hard so I had to layer the blankets up underneath me to cushion from it. There were some mosquitos but they didn’t last long after I declared chemical warefare with the bug spray. No Hot spring as mentioned in the name but I probably could’ve figured that out with some research

The room was large and comfortable. The location is great. The room I stayed in had heated floors and bed! Breakfast was also good. There are some nice touches like a water cooler on my level and ample towels in the room.

I think some warmer, soft lighting like a lamp in the room would be good. The hot water takes quite some time to heat up but will get there eventually.

Comfortable hotel room close to the Seoraksan park entrance. The room is simple but they offer amenities like soap, tooth brushes, towels etc. There are also complementary cup noodles and sodas. The owners are so lovely, they let us store our luggage while we went for a hike, and then offered to drive us back to the city afterwards!

It's perfect if you want to go to Seoraksan, but if you want to enjoy the city it's perhaps a bit remote

The kindest owners ever. - We arrived at the wrong hotel 1km away and he picked us up for free. - I asked the lady for a yoga mat, she found one and lended it to me for the entire stay. - She's also doing laundry for free. - We had a minor water issue after 2-3 days so they gave us another room immediatly and made us a discount at the end without I even ask for it. - Whenever I had a question about anything like the bus timeable for exemple he would take time to respond using google translate. - Everything in the room is clean, confortable and the location is great you can walk to the entry of Seoraksan park in about 30-40min. You also have a bunch of restaurant on the main street like 2min walk from your room. - Plus there is free drinks and food in the entrance, such as ramen, biscuits, coffee, tea, fruits juice... Amazing services !

I was not using the address but just the name Mammoth on google maps (koreans dont really use google maps but rather Naver map) and that's why we ended up 1km away so that's my bad. Maybe they should just try to add Mammoth Resotel on google maps for the next lazy customer like me. Nothing else to say it was great.

The location was convenient, close to the bus and only 15 minutes by public transportation from the entrance of Seoraksan National Park. The buses run regularly there. The room is exactly as described. Everything is provided, and it is very, very clean. The staff is super helpful. Very good value for money.

Very friendly owner. You have to use the translator but nevermind. A HUGE room. It's about 3 stops from the NP.

Communication before arrival was a bit difficult. They could not tell me the name of the bus stop. It's called something like "Shopping district". (A couple of kiosks and restaurants, I didn't need more).
