We had a room at the end of a wing and very quiet with good views out to the gardens. The room was cleaned well during our stay and towels replaced on a daily basis. Breakfast was buffet style with a good supply of cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, pastries etc. We used the swimming pool most days. There was a good supply of loungers with shade provided by a good distribution of sun umbrellas. The pool area was kept very clean with a plentiful supply of clean towels available from reception. A real bonus at the hotel were the gardens and this is a real oasis in Algeciras. The staff were courteous and helpful at all times. A good bar on the ground floor which leads out to a lovely terrace where you can sit with a drink and order light meals.

We cannot think of anything. Bear in mind that this is a historic hotel and therefore "older" than some you will find in the city but we think it has been maintained well.

The Hotel is outstanding and in a good location for someone seeking a good rest. The staff, with a pleasant attitude, gives service and support 24/7, whether Monday or Sunday. The staff is taking care of all Hotel matters immediately and giving guests a satisfactory feeling.

A few minor remarks for future improvement. The Hotel has two elevators, and the old one has steel doors on each floor. Those doors are very noisy when opening and closing. The Hotel is super quiet, and those elevator doors are super loud. I do not recommend booking a room anywhere near the old elevator unless someone does not mind. There are places where the carpet should be replaced. The Hotel could acquire a sauna (which is not available).

If you're making the crossing to Morocco for adventure this is the only place to stay. The lobby and bar is often filled with similar folks and the car park has lots of bikes coming back or just about to set out, not to mention 4x4s and other whacky racer type vehicles. The bar staff are friendly and fun. There is beer and cheap but good wine if you wanna have one last night before you go somewhere without alcohol. The car park is safe and the place is 2 mins from the ferries. Good Wifi Nice, helpful staff at reception and even the cleaning staff are helpful and friendly This time my room was wonderful. I had a little balcony and an amazing bathroom and the bed was so comfortable... But...

The previous time I stayed (a few weeks ago), the room was quite tired. This time my room was great, but last time, it was shabby.. The shower didn't get hot and I couldn't get it to the right angle. So I think if you're lucky, you get a nicer, better maintained room, but some feel older. And I think it's just a question of capacity and luck.

Overall an excellent hotel with some history and great grounds. In grand hotel fashion actually had centeral lobby, in house -resturant and bar, billards and reading rooms, at least one pool and extenstive patios and terraces, etc. Had excellent breakfast bar setup.

Age is showing in places, while all carperts are fine the center of stairs and edges color different from ware. Similarly, some veneered pieces need repair or replacement. etc. Looked to be treading to large functions such as weddings, conferences, etc.

There is a lot of history and old-world charm in this hotel. Staying in this hotel gave you a sense of what the world was like in the turn of the century, and much of the furnishings date back to the days of the Titanic. The hotel had a British charm, and sometimes we felt like we were in a ghost hotel, and that was actually very cool. Our favorite person was the barkeeper named David he made us feel at home and went out of his way for anything we needed.

The front desk was OK, and they did give us a stand-up fan. We asked for a fan because there was no air conditioning, and if you opened the windows, the flies would be all over your room. Also, Tarifa is a better destination if you intend to take the ferry to Morocco.

Two couples stayed here two nights before taking the ferry to Morocco and we found it very relaxing and comfortable. Short walk into centre of Algeciras and short walk to the port. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening buffet - a varied and tasty selection. Special mention for the attentive and helpful service by Nayara at dinner and breakfast. The swimming pool is clean modern and very inviting set in extensive grounds. This is a classic old style hotel and a delightful contrast to hi-tech modern chains.

We were not at this property for very long, I wish we could have stayed longer as it seemed there were a lot of amenities to take advantage of. We did appreciate that it was within walking distance of the ferry terminal, the bus station, and the train station. The room was a good size and included a balcony.

We tried to ask the front desk for some help determining options with a bus/train after we had issues with a rental car and unfortunately they were not very helpful. However, it might have been due to more language barrier issues than their unwillingness to assist.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, excellent location. Food was very good both breakfast and dinner. Room was very large with large bathroom and roomy balcony. It felt like a step back in time with the large number of fully draped windows and high ceilings. Furnishings and wardrobe were stunning and appropriate to the feel of the hotel. Bartender and bar were extremely nice. It was too cold to use the pool but it looked lovely and well kept.

Weak air conditioning and no screens on the large number of windows in the room (mosquitos).

Beautiful old hotel set in spacious grounds. The food was great - breakfast and evening meals were both generous and varied buffets. Our room had a lovely balcony with space to sit comfortably. Staff were polite and helpful.

We could only get in via the back, vehicular entrance and as we walked up from the station this made our journey considerably longer which was unpleasant in the heat. The air conditioning wasn’t particularly good and our room got quite hot.

We chose this hotel because it is close to the port, as we returned by ferry from Morocco, and the transfer to the airport after 2 days was from another hotel directly opposite the port. The hotel is quite old and has probably seen better times, but after the many nights spent in a tent, it felt like a castle. Reception very friendly, there was also a separate room for our 6 bicycles. There is a balcony and a view from the window to the garden, finally we sleep in real silence. We have ordered the rooms without breakfast, because we have a different travel rhythm, there is a shop nearby and a 10-minute walk from the port, where the old town soon began. The hotel has a pool where only 2 pensioner couples sunbathed, maybe it's not the holiday season, but it's fine for us.
