Having stayed at 3 different hotels previously in Calella, I thought I'd give the Garbi a go as they were offering a good deal which included both breakfast and dinner with a sea view. Any concerns I might have had from reading some other reviews here were quickly dispelled with a friendly welcome, a decent sized room and a great view, good lighting and a large comfy bed. The buffet dinner was far better than anything I was expecting, with lots of choice (the meatballs were excellent) and hot which is not always the case with hotel buffets, and a great range of desserts. Breakfast also had a great choice, though the hot food wasn't quite up to dinner standard, the pastries were tasty and fresh and good coffee. If or when I return to Calella, if there's a similar deal I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Nothing other than a couple of the hot breakfast dishes weren't the best but plenty of other things to choose (the scrambled egg was excellent) and an occasional slight drainage smell in the bathroom, but this seems to be common in Calella.

I stayed at Checkin Garbi for Ironman, and was very pleased for how close it was to both race village (600m) & transition area (1.2k). I got the full board option & while it wasn't a big variety of food, it was perfect for carb loading & recovery. Staff were very helpful & welcoming (especially Karen who spoke perfect English) ... Would highly recommend if you're staying for the race.

The room & furniture are a bit old but manageable & there's no kettle or coffee machine

The Italian staff at the reception was super helpful, understanding and super welcoming - thank you! Breakfast was decent, location is also good, staff professional, specious rooms. - I would go back.

We only stayed for 1 night, it was perfect for us! It is a 3 star hotel, don't expect more than that but it's ok. Be aware, they have sometimes two rooms together, separated only by a tiny door for families. If you need only one room and the other room is given to other guests it will be properly secured but you will hear everything from the neighbor room - vice-versa. For us, the staff handled this immediately, very well. We had no problems, whatsoever but someone might be annoyed by this

Great location, good food and very friendly personnel. My room was pretty ok and view from the terrace to the sea was great. That view from terrace was something what I was looking for and it met my expectations

Thin walls are kind of discomfort, but not always. It depends who is your neighbour

The beds were very comfortable, Great choice of food, staff friendly, beds changed everyday, towels changed every day, very clean. View from balcony was excellent, was close to everything.

Very busy in the hotel, train passed every 30mins, but you got used to it, the beach had a dip in the sand causing waves in the sea, and an undercurrent, not ideal for younger children

Very noisy, and our room had a door leading to the room next door. We came in April, when it's still not too busy and the hotel is very noisy, making it difficult to sleep.

I booked a room for my parents. They were delighted. Good staff, delicious food, and a beautiful view of the sea from the balcony. They want to come back next year.

Liked everything

Honestly - I had no issues. I stayed at Garbi for the Ironman Calella, Barcelona70.3. Everything was great. Ideal location for the Ironman. Great front row views if your a spectator. Checkin was fast and easy - payment taken on arrival, this made the check out fast and efficient. All front of house staff were supper nice, friendly and helpful. The house keeping were awesome - I never encountered them (they were like ghosts) but when I’d return to my room it was always spotless clean, turned over and ready. They even folded my pyjamas and put it nicely on the pillow for me ! 🥺🥰

Fully booked so got upgraded to rooms with our own rooftop balconies. The location was great, rooms nice and clean, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.
