1. Thee location is perfect. In the heart of Estepona old town and on a beautiful plaza. 2. Hotel is fairly new and it has a nice feel about it - the interior is well done. 3. The staff were great - always keen to help.

1. Only 1 working plug in the room, which, when you've got smart phones, laptops and cameras that need charging it was a nightmare. We mentioned this to the hotel at check-out and they said it was a problem throughout the hotel - disappointing that it hasn't been resolved. 2. We had to keep asking for tea and coffee to replenished (not even top ups) just the daily items. There was bottled water on arrival and we assumed it would be daily (but no) so we always had to buy our own.

Fantastic quality hotel in a great central location. Good breakfast with both help yourself continental option as well as served hot option. We had a suite and it was so comfortable and large with superb views of the Plaza de las Flores fronting the hotel. The staff, especially our housekeeping lady, are so customer centric, and nothing is too much trouble. On leaving I’d left some clothes behind and they assisted fully in arranging return to UK - over and beyond what you’d expect. Overall a superb hotel.

No fresh salad options, such as tomatoes, cucumber, etc, and no yoghurt varieties available on continental breakfast. The windowless basement breakfast room is a mistake when there are other eating areas available including outside. Thought the hotel’s bar options would be open before 5pm each day. The English Pub, Coopers Barrel, does not stock English beers, and gets quite full of locals occupying a lot of the outside tables and it can be quite raucous and noisy on Friday and Saturday.

The property itself was very charming. I loved the decor. I think it was a converted palace. Retrofitted with a good elevator. We were greeted very warmly from the manager on duty, Lourdes. She could not have been friendlier nor more accommodating. She even sent a cold bottle of Spanish cava to our room for no reason at all. Little did she know that my partners birthday had just happened two weeks prior. It was a real treat. We really enjoyed the expensive breakfast offerings. They will also make you a hot breakfast. The staff all around the hotel were exceedingly friendly and accommodating. Definitely would visit this Hotel again. Also, there are three restaurants that surround the hotel, and they were all excellent. There is a rooftop bar and food service there. Absolutely beautiful. Staying in this hotel is a real treat.

Cannot think of one thing that we didn’t like or that was unpleasant.

The hotel façade and entrance has the most beautiful architecture. Set in a gorgeous pretty square in the centre of Estepona. The staff at the reception are super friendly. My room was really large. Enough for 3 people. Big soft towels with a lovely clean bathroom and fast shower. The bed was very comfortable. My room was located at the back of the hotel. Which I was extremely happy with. Which meant it was quieter than being at the front. Although there was no view. It didn't matter. As you could walk out into the square in minutes. This must be the best location. Beach was only a five minute walk. And plenty of quality restaurants near by. There's a glorious room top bar which was quiet when I went. The views are stunning. Thank you to all that made my stay memorable.

My room was a disabled room. Which would be great for anyone disabled. Everything has been thoroughly thought out. Although I am not disabled. Which really didn't bother me. As I loved the room. I would of liked to have some drawer space. For such a big room there is plenty of space where this could be located. Not enough coat hangers. Then again. All hotels have this problem. The mini bar wasn't cold enough. And the acoustics sound from upstairs wasn't great. As you could hear the chairs moving around some of the time. Although it did go quiet for a good nights sleep later. I would definitely return to this beautiful hotel.

Super friendly and helpful Staff 😍 Room and Hotel spotless clean . Very thoughtful appointed room . I thought I would never write about a toilet bowl , but this time I have too . In the toilet bowl , there is a light bulb , 💡 that lights up when it is dark .This makes it so easy getting up at night .What a clever Idea 👍 The food at the Terrace Restaurant should be a must for every Guest 😋 We Travel every month , but the Breakfast Buffet 😋 at el Pilar is far the best .The price is unbeatable. Location absolutely fantastic 👏 Parking Garage close by , 17 Euro for a day 👍 Looking forward of coming back in the Spring .

This isn't an complaint but please tell customers beforehand, you can't leave the window open in room 114 because the window is at streetlevel . I signed up to become a member , I think booking on Silken's website will give me a better understanding what room I book , than on Booking.com Thanks again to everyone at Reception , Terrace Restaurant and the lovely Lady that served us Breakfast this morning

Staff friendly,very clean, great location. Rooftop terrace lovely and the food was good.

Breakfast in the basement and tea and coffee wasnt great. Would have liked option for freshly made tea and coffee at breakfast. When on holiday the breakfast expereience is important and breakfasting in the basement which is more suitable for a gym or spa wasnt what we like. As a business hotel would be fine. Plenty of places to breakfast outside with much better offerings. Would book room only next time. Limited room service menu and no snacks in the mini bar to purchase.

The location was incredible, right in the heart of the old town of Estepona. It had a wonderful roof terrace as well as some wonderful bars. The room was immaculate and the staff were all very friendly.

The breakfast was ok, but not amazing. It is located in the basement of the hotel, which seemed a little cold and lacking atmosphere. Only one member of staff serving but it was very much a serve yourself breakfast. We were also a little mislead, as the hotel said it had parking, but the parking was a public car park a few minutes walk away that required payment - it wasn't a problem, but I would have liked to know in advance.

amazing location, very tastefully done and very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. The air conditioning was so quiet and really efficient which made the room very comfortable in the heat. Amazing views from the rooftop area.

was disappointed that there was no rooftop area to sunbathe- it was given over to a restaurant and bar so it all seemed to be about making money from guests rather than a relaxing space for them . The cups in the room were unusable as they had no handles and we like to drink tea in a cup with a handle.

I'm in the golf business here in Ireland and bring many groups to Spain to play golf, we have many locations throughout the Costa del sol but will find it hard to better this location and hotel for a certain section of our clients. Fab location very friendly and helpful staff, Maria in the bar/restaurant was so so nice and a excellent ambassador for the hotel, Michelle was another member of staff that was so helpful and always smiling. The overall staff were just amazing, we had tapas in the hotel one night and Roberto(I think that was the young man's name) was again very friendly, and very attentive. Lourdes and Samuel at reception made us feel very welcome upon our arrival and gifted us a bottle of cava to enjoy the start of our holiday. The whole experience was just wonderful and when we are back in this region the EL PILAR will be our choice of hotel, thank you all so very much

Fantastic hotel right in the middle of Estepona. Super service throughout the hotel - the staff is really geared to ensuring a excellent guest experience. We have tried the bodega, rooftop bar, cooper’s bar and the restaurant - all serving top notch quality. The hotel is extremely clean - and has a very good ‘vibe’. Walking distance to many great restaurants, bars, shopping, harbor and beach - all within walking distance . The rooms are spacious and equipped with excellent beds (and pillows!!). Comfortable bathroom with nice Yves Rocher amenities. Staff friendliness and willingness to support in any way is of absolute 5 star quality / Level!
