It felt somewhat like we were in a castle. We stayed in the newer building that was not a part of the original castle. It did feel modern and new. Place was very clean. Location was very central to town

The rooms are of all different sizes even for the same type of room. Our friend got a smaller room than us and no balcony. The "castle" room in the old building were also all different so you do not know what you will get. The one that we got to see was dark and no windows that you could see out of. The windows were all very high up (15-20 feet). It felt like an old castle in that room but also creepy without the windows. I'm glad we did not upgrade. The staff was not accommodating when we tried to upgrade.

Olite is a beautiful old town and this Parador in a formidable old building stands pride of place, right in a lovely square beside the magnificent Castle. Our “room” was an impressive duplex but accessible only via a steep, narrow, wooden staircase with a thick jute stair-rope to hang on to, but worth it! Beautifully traditionally furnished, clean, en-suite bathroom, comfortable bed, crisp linen, great views, with plenty of extra cleaned/sealed pillows and not just WiFi but also ethernet connection on the upper level of our room. We did not eat breakfast or dinner in the restaurant, but we ate well and imbibed at the hotel bar, sitting outside on the square accompanied with refreshing locally bottled vino rosado. Parking is possible on the square for loading and unloading only 15 minutes, after which you may park at a nearby public car park, which was easy.

We are two cyclists on a ride from Cadiz to San Sebastian. Our needs are simple we seek a clean bed and a hot shower – the hotel provided both Reception was welcoming and helpful – we arrived with a mechanical problem with our bikes - reception were able to find a local bike shop - ensure that the engineer was available - book a return taxi to help fix the problem and send us on our way - great service We select the Parador chain for a touch of luxury and enjoy the lavish and expert restoration of historical buildings across Spain - This is one of the best and nicest conversions we have found - use of traditional walls and lay out that have been used by the designers is stuning Excellent in every way - must be one of the top 5 Historical paradors

This Parador is an exquisite property in the exquisite historic small walled town of Olete. The hotel is incorporated in a section of a 13th-century fantasy castle complete with towers, turrets, dungeons and dragons. . It is really quite an extraordinary. place. With the exception of one critical misstep at check-in which I will describe below, our stay was flawless and the service sterling. We ate one night in the hotel's restaurant which was superb in both service and quality. This parador is worth every Euro you spend there.

Unfortunately, there was a hiccup at the time of check-in. I had booked and paid for a Superior Double Room. Prior to our arrival I had twice requested twin beds which was twice confirmed through booking messenger. I confirmed this a third time with the polite young gentleman at the front desk. But when we got to the room, it was a small drab room with one small double bed. We immediately turned around and went back down to the front desk. He seemed confused, asked if we had touched anything, and immediately put us into the room we had requested and paid for. I must admit it was all handled quickly and politely, and after that, we had an amazing 2-night stay.

The staff at the Principe de Viana, Parador de Olite could not have been more caring and accommodating. Unfortunately the night we arrived we felt unwell - it turned out we had caught Covid on route. Our one-night luxury stay turned into four nights (and days) of total bed-rest, with our (beautifully cooked) meals delivered to our room. We ended up seeing nothing of Olite or the area, or much of the hotel, but the staff were so sweet and kind in some ways it was very good luck we fell ill there and not in some crummy motorway motel!

I visited this place as a child, 52 yrs ago, and remember it being very grand and lofty and austere, very medieval in feel, with many suits of armour in the corridors to the rooms. The original stonework was exposed, with huge stone fireplaces and the windows set into deep stone walls, with a four-poster bed, beautifully tiled bathroom and huge wrap-around bath-sheets. The place seems to have been very well updated, but somewhat 'sanitised' in the sense that in making it more like a normal hotel, some of the old charm and grandeur has gone. The towels are also much smaller. (And that's not because I'm bigger!!) It is nevertheless still a great hotel.

Great common areas and a good restaurant. Rooms had old styled furniture, but with character. Olite is just lovely as a place to relax.

Furnishing of the room is clearly old and a little run down. Furniture, however, has character so it is not really an issue as rooms have a clear atmosphere. The bathroom would benefit more from a renovation. Standard rooms are not in the proper castle, but in an annex, which reduces a bit the charm of the place.

If you want to stay in a Spanish castle [parador], this hotel is totally worth the visit. :) We had a very nice room with a balcony overlooking the Olite Royal Palace. It was really magical. The breakfast was quite good and the dinner at hotel's restaurant was also OK. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. As for parking, you cannot park at the hotel [you can leave your car at the hotel for 15-30min to take your luggage out]; however, hotel staff provides you information on nearby parking lots which are free of charge.

Better? Nothing could have been better .... if only we had more nights.

Location of Olitè was truly fabulous. Will remember it for a long time.

Restaurant food did not live up to the rest of the experience. To arrive first in the restaurant and be informed you first two choices on the menu ( after ordering ) were not available was not a good start.

A great historic hotel in a sumptuous location. The adjoining palace was outstanding and great value to visit. The hotel however was quite noisy though the rooms were comfortable. The breakfast was overpriced. The reception staff were friendly

The cost of the breakfast and the poor soundproofing as we heard every noise above us.
