Right on the beach. Pool is nice but VERY crowded (visited in peak time- early August). They have beach chairs ( extra fee) which is very nice to have. Also shuttle to old town exclusive for hotel guests (1.50 Euros per person; but it’s much more convenient than the city bus).

Rooms are tiny. Beds are awful. Rooms are dated and have a cheap feel to them. Our shower head wouldn’t stay straight. Staff is competent but not terribly friendly, although that may be because the hotel was so busy (it may also be a cultural thing- we’ve been in Spain for 2 weeks and I’ve found Spanish people to be very cold, at least in the Catalan/Valencia regions). No towels at the pool is a bit chincy and made the scene look like a public pool as everyone has their own towels.

I had a wonderful stay at the Gran Hotel, everything was just perfect. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the amenities one could ask for. The service was outstanding - the staff were always there to talk and very friendly. The food is very good, the location of the hotel was ideal, close to the main attractions and with easy access to public transport. The breakfast was delicious and with a lot of choices. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Will definitely come back again and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay

Location and choice of food. Quiet room on top floor as per our request was a plus

There was a problem with odour in our room. The cleaning service did a proper clean daily but the smell ( of feces) was very strong. Probalby coming from a pipe. The smell was only in the bedroom, the bathroom and sitting room had no smell. We notifies the staff and they provided us with some odour neutralisors as well as making sure all is very clean but nothing helped. We were offered a different room but our room was quiet and big so we just kept the windows open all the time.

excellent location with direct access to the beach

We were given a room on the first floor with a balcony and windows facing the courtyard of another hotel. From the balcony you can see the edge of the sea. In the evening, during a musical program in a restaurant, the audibility was as if I was sitting right on the stage, the music ended at 12 at night, then they continued to move something for a long time. Not the best room for a romantic couple or for a couple with children. Apparently, in rooms with a sea view and on higher floors the accommodation is more comfortable, but when I asked for a higher room and (or) with a sea view, they said that there were no rooms available.

Location, friendly staff, front sea view, beach, large rooms, access to washing and drying machines.

Limited access for kids at indoor pool 1h, the need for scheduling everything (pool, breakfast, lunch, dinner, sauna etc), low variation on deserts, indoor parking too tight.

The beach was perfect, the stuff were very attentive, nice and helpful. The reception guy was searching water for me and two other people at 2.30 in the morning, when all the machines ran out of it. The program for the kids was nice, lots of songs, dancing. There was always a big selection of food, though I wouldn’t recommend buying the full or half-board. We were paying on spot, because we also wanted to eat out somewhere else. The bar had a great alternative to breakfast, toasts and coffee. We enjoyed this hotel very much.

The lack of parking spaces, but there is always a free parking space outside. We had some bad luck though, right before leaving back home our car got burned to ashes along with the other 4 cars. :( Not the hotel’s fault, they were kindly helping to call the police and arrange a transfer to Barcelona, but I am sure it wouldn’t have happened be it parked in the hotel’s parking lot.

this is a great hotel right by the beach with fabulous facilities for both couples and families. the bedroom was huge with 2 large double beds and it was immaculate. the bathroom was also very large and very clean and a good hot powerful shower. the buffet food choice was extensive for most tastes and we certainly ate well. we didn’t use the swimming pool or spa but they both looked fabulous! the bar staff were very friendly and we had good priced drinks by the pool. there was entertainment o. the night we stayed with great music. lovely to see so many people up dancing on the dance floor! we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

There is an elevator from the underground garage to the reception level and multiple elevators to the higher floors. We got upgraded to a room on the top-floor with balcony and sea-view. The room was clean, large enough, desk to work at, free WiFi and a large comfortable chair. Self-service buffet provided ample of choice. This is a large hotel and although the breakfast room is equally large, breakfast has to be taken in shifts. At this time of the year, first day of June, the hotel is frequented by the elderly. In the high season probably by families with children. The swimming pool was still somewhat too cold to swim so most guests linger on their deckchairs for a suntan. We took the car to visit the old city center of Peniscola, which is worth-the-while to visit..

There is no public parking available near the hotel. But underground parking is available at the hotel for Euro 16,00/day;

The room was a very decent size with a lovely sea view and distant view of Peniscola Castle. The whole hotel was exceptionally clean. We arrived at the same time as numerous Pensionistas but Booking In was well organised. As a result, due to the number of guests it meant that meal sittings times were set and there was a considerable queue, unfortunately it meant our evening meal allocation was later than we would normally dine, but it is Spain and many prefer to dine later. The beach was lovely and clean, and if you like walking then it is a lovely level walk along the beach front, but it is some distance to Peniscola Castle which itself is typically quite a climb for anyone with mobility issues. However, all in all our stay at the Hotel itself was enjoyable and recommended for a quiet holiday. I would stay there again.

Nothing to mention

Everything was exceptional! We loved every minute of our stay, deciding to stay an extra 4 nights. The staff from a warm, happy greeting at reception, restaurant staff to the fantastic cleaners. The food was amazing! Such a vast choice! We enjoyed the evening entertainment, dancing the night away with Spanish residents!
