The property is charming and cozy! It’s located just outside the main bustle of the cathedral area. I anticipated a relaxing evening after a long day on the Camino trail. This was a splurge at $70. The 3 course $18 dinner with wine was fabulous! I joined another couple who were also dining.

Between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm I could hear a group of people in the room above, walking, dragging furniture, talking loudly. In the morning when I woke up, I saw 1 bed bug scurry across the blanket. The mattress is encased with a plastic liner which is a good prevention for bedbugs, though there was fabric underneath the bed, where they would be hanging out. Maybe the host thought I was trying to get out of paying the bill, but he appeared to be under responsive when I told him. 5 star hotels get bud bugs, but the right way to respond is to apologize and thank for the information.

This is the best stay I had on the Camino. The place is clean and quiet, the hosts are SO nice. If you want to be treated with love BECAUSE you’re a pilgrim, this is the place to stay. Also the food is incredible. Must do for both dinner and breakfast, the food is the best in town and about the same price as all the other places. They have a great menu del dia with local Rioja specialities. The hosts don’t speak English but they use Google translate fluently and you can feel their positive energy flow to you even if you’re confused! :)

This is a historical property being the old flour mill. The owners are proud of their property and work hard to make you comfortable. The owners are friendly and speak mostly Spanish but there was no issues figuring out things. We received a city map right away and we’re told of the various things to see and do in town. There was a dinner and breakfast offered. We did the continental option which was very well priced and had delicious home made cake/ lemon loaf. Rooms were clean and comfortable. It’s an old building so you can hear other guests at times.

Don’t be afraid that this is a couple blocks off the Camino. It’s easy to find and the police station is on the corner :)!

Excellent value for money. We arrived on a very cold, wet night. The hosts were excellent and very accommodating. Always with a happy face and willing to go above and beyond. The hotel was warm, cozy and inviting and the single bed very, very comfortable. Lots of hot water and a very powerful shower. They provided two evening meal sittings at 7 and at 10 and the food was lovely and not expensive.

I stayed here during my Camino and it was the best place I’ve stayed at yet! Hosts are the most gracious I have met. Food is delicious. Got both the dinner and buffet breakfast. It is just steps away from the main cathedral and town center. Room was heated and I could control the heat. Highly recommend if you need a place to relax and need some nurturing!

This was my first night on the Camino and the hosts were so warm, friendly and helpful. They even got up early to say goodbye!! The dinner was lovely (great lentil stew!) and there was a real homely feel to the place. I would absolutely recommend it as a place to stay on the Camino when in Santiago de la Calzada!

The location is within easy walking distance of the town. Our Spanish is poor and the owners have limited English but the language barrier is easily managed with Google translate !! The evening meal was good value including local wine A good stop off for those pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago . The owner gave us good recommendations for our free day in the area to World Heritage monastery, which was well worth a visit

Floren and his wife truly are fantastic hosts that provide a welcome home from home experience whilst walking the Camino. Rooms outstanding,Dinner/Breakfast and over all hospitality exactly what I’d hoped to find and nothing is too much bother.

Nothing. This place is a true gem !!

property was excellent - room was spacious, well laid out and immaculate. The owners couldn’t have been nicer - they helped with anything we needed. We dropped off large load of laundry at 3 pm, which they washed, folded, and returned to our room by 8 pm. They served us great glass of wine when we arrived for 1 euro/glass. Breakfast was reasonably priced and no coffee machine - real café con leche made by host that was best I’ve had!
