My one-week stay at Niyagama House was fabulous with the high standards the facility offers, the green with all those bird sounds in the morning mesmerized me. It was also so relaxing for my body and soul doing meditation & yoga with Elke every day, nourishing myself with the great food from the restaurant. I am looking forward to visiting that 'paradise on earth' again.

There is nothing that I can offer, Niyagama House is already a great facility.

Niyagama House is stunning, peace & tranquility at its finest…I stayed in the Ruby Suite which overlooked the pool as well as outstanding views across the tea plantations, monkeys playing around in the trees every evening was a wonderful watch, as well as the most beautiful sunsets. Elka & Prasad are excellent hosts, but I have to give an extra special shout out of gratitude for Sanjeewa who ran me around everywhere daily, as a solo traveller I was constantly made to feel safe and well looked after…highly recommended all round.

My wife and I had the most wonderful stay at Niyagama House. It felt so good to check in there after our two weeks of adventures in Sri Lanka. The property was beautiful with a big and beautiful pool. The staff was super friendly with an amazing service and the food was made by a true masterchef. Definitely the best food we had on our two weeks trip in Sri Lanka. Thank you for a beautiful couple of days at your amazing retreat! We will definitely come back.🙌🌸

Our second visit to Niyagama house and it was just as perfect as the first time. Elke and her team provide a brilliant service, we were so well looked after with a lovely room, great food, brilliant yoga classes and big pool. Gorgeous setting and possible to walk a 5k circuit from house which we did every day. It’s 15 mins from Galle fort in a car.

The property was calm and clean - walking barefoot throughout was so relaxing. The food was delicious and the yoga was well managed and great. But I would recommend it most because of the family staff running it were amazing in all the details from organizing a beautiful stay and attention to additional details.

Amazing place to relax! Everything was absolutely perfect. The welcoming, the team, the house, the pool, the location… I could go on and on and on… It was a very memorable experience. We took advantage of getting a massage which was great. The yoga facilities look great too. It is only a 20 mins ride into Galle which is far better value than staying in the Old Town directly.

the peace and quiet I cannot thank Elke (the owner) enough for making my stay amazing .. she is the heart and soul of that place very caring and attentive and supportive in every way possible .. the place is a slice of heaven on earth in the middle of a very calming environment … open space with a magical view .. you are part of nature in a peaceful and beautiful way .. you wake up to the sounds of the birds and beautiful rays of sunlight … I had the most relaxing sleep of my life there .. the breakfast and the food there was soooooo tasty .. my morning yoga and meditation sessions are the perfect way to start the day … I stayed for 8 nights and was so recharged by the time I left xx I loved everything about the place … I had nicely decorated beautiful room with its own theme every room there comes with its own vibe... I was so in love with their bedtime ritual when someone comes to prepare your room for you to go to sleep it felt lovely and like a very cozy addition... I can’t put into words how happy I was there and for sure I’ll come back to visit and recommend it to anyone who wants to detox and disconnect that’s the place for you .. love you Ilka and thank you for everything you’ve done to make my time there super special and for all the lovely staff at the property .. this was the perfect getaway ❤️🌹

From the moment my husband and I arrived we felt like we were in a little piece of paradise. The place is so calm and peaceful and we were exceptionally lucky to be the only guests here for a couple of days. We stayed for a total of 4 nights. We really appreciated the wet towel and fresh coconut on arrival. We were very kindly upgraded to a balcony room which I enjoyed drinking a cup of tea on each morning and listening/watching the monkeys and the birds. The swimming pool is huge and big enough for exercising in. The food here was very tasty. We particularly enjoyed trying a new Sri lankan dish each morning for breakfast. Janika (waiter) was particularly attentive to all of our needs without being intrusive. The staff in general at Niyagama House are gentle and friendly. Elke is a beautiful soul who has an air of calmness and kindness about her. She has designed a beautiful property that has western comforts yet in the middle of a tea plantation in Sri Lanka with all the beauty of nature this brings. We also enjoyed trying a couple of yoga classes with Elke. She is an excellent teacher and was able to find a style that my husband and I as beginners were comfortable with. I enjoyed these classes so much that I feel inspired to begin regular classes back at home. During our time at Niyagama House we both tried Ayurvedic massages. I had a 60 minute massage and my husband a 90minute massage. He enjoyed his massage so much that he had a second one two days later. Niyagama House was part of our honeymoon stay and the staff went above and beyond to make this extra special for us with flowers on our bed and dinner table each evening. The bedroom itself is big and spacious with an excellent mosquito net so we did not have any bug bites during the night. Everything was very clean. We really appreciated that the bed was prepared for sleeping each night with beautiful flowers whilst we went for dinner. My husband and I have just returned from our time in Niyagama House.

We can't really complain about anything. Perhaps a little more choice on the evening menu would be nice especially for a longer stay but everything was fresh and tasty.

Peaceful, quiet, serene, beautiful, well-tended. The rooms are everything you could wish for - spacious, comfortable, cosy. The food is delicious. We were taken care of in an extremely detailed manner, the attention to detail is what makes this place exceptional. 10/10 would come back.

Great Stay - staff was really friendly and competent. Beautiful scenery - it looks just like paradise with its own tea and fruit plantation. The pool was gorgeous with a magnificent view of the Forrest and wild monkeys in the distance. Also the owners of the hotel are fantastic people!

The location is a little bit far away from anything. You do have everything at the hotel however its not easy to just leave the hotel and explore on foot. You do need to call a Tuk Tuk in order to get anywhere. However if you are looking for peace and quite its a great place.
