This hotel is absolutely stunning and is clearly one of the best hotels we've visited in Sri Lanka. We felt at home since the hotel has only five rooms, ensuring privacy and an intimate atmosphere, which is the ultimate luxury for us. The decoration is beautiful, with a true attention to details. The hotel has direct access to the beach, which is beautiful, unpolluted, and very quiet—ideal for relaxation. The staff is absolutely incredible, especially Lakmal, who took excellent care of us throughout our stay. He even organized a surprise moonlit dinner with torches and candles for our four-year anniversary and offered us a daily tea time along with many other thoughtful gestures. The hotel manager is also very kind and attentive. If you come to Tangalle, this is definitely the hotel you should visit. Thank you a thousand times for everything. We loved our stay—everything was perfect, and we will recommend it to all our friends!

We recently stayed five nights at Villa Blu in Kalamatiya, Sri Lanka, and were very impressed with the experience. The hotel has a stylish interior that made us feel comfortable right away. It also has a calm and relaxing atmosphere, which is great for a peaceful vacation. The service at Villa Blu was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to fulfill any special requests we had. The manager was also very approachable and quick to sort out any issues, ensuring our stay was hassle-free. One of the highlights of our stay was definitely the food. We had some of the best meals at the hotel, much better than anywhere else in the area. The Sri Lankan breakfast is highly recommended; it gives you a real taste of the local cuisine. The hotel’s location is perfect for those looking to unwind. It’s very quiet and has direct access to the sea, allowing us to enjoy long walks on a secluded beach. The pool is also a great feature, providing a refreshing way to cool down.

Had the most amazing time at Villa Blu. The architecture is incredible and the setting is amazing right on the beach. The hotel is quite secluded with only a few other small hotels around, which meant we often had the beach to ourselves. It was a very relaxing place to stay. Kamal and his team Lasantha, Lakshita and Lalith were all so friendly and helpful. Kamal organised for us to see the turtles, do a lagoon tour in the bird sanctuary and to see the nearby fishing harbour - all amazing experiences! I would recommend Villa Blu to everyone

Villa Blu is truly a great experience. It has that wow factor that never goes away throughout the stay. It is expertly clean with an amazing pool with a view of the beach that is easy to access. We were there for three days and two nights and we never left the premises once because it has everything they you need in one place. Complete serenity. The food on offer is wide ranging, with the staff picking up the ingredients throughout the day. Lasantha was a great chef and we enjoyed his meals. Sohan and Lakwal kindly arranged us a moonlit dinner which will forever be a core memory. Lakwal was always on hand to offer his help and recommendations and even sorted us out a gift upon our departure. And finally, Kamal - he made sure that everything was perfect throughout our stay. He went out his way to go to the pharmacy for us and was very kind in offering me advice. He manages the villa well and we left feeling like VIP’s. We can’t wait to reccomend this place to our friends and family.

Our stay at villa blu was exceptional. The hotel is beautiful and the room was amazing. Kamal the manager and his team were honestly incredible, they made our honeymoon stay unforgettable. On our first night they arranged a valentines meal on the beach for my husband and I, we were overwhelmed by how beautiful it was. Lakmal was our waiter that evening and he was incredible. Kamal also helped organise a trip to Yala safari for us which we loved. Even though it was an early start (5am) he was there waiting in the lobby for us with coffees and a packed breakfast for us to take on our trip. It’s such a beautifully relaxing place to stay, with the best staff! We would come back to Villa Blu in a heartbeat!

Stunning hotel on the coast. Spacious, light and airy modern interior. Beautiful decor, very nice comfortable rooms. Fantastic pool area with sun loungers, in the morning in the shade. Very quiet location. Beach is narrow, at the time of our stay not suitable for swimming due to large waves. We had only booked one night and regretted that our itinerary did not allow us to extend our stay. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the breakfast catered to us being vegetarian; it was without doubt one of the best breakfasts we have ever had whilst travelling. Cannot recommend Villa Blu highly enough, just a beautiful place to get away from it all and relax. Nearby is a family run restaurant called My Son with delicious food. The family are lovely people.

Villa Blu is in a beautiful, secluded location. It's quiet and right by a beautiful long beach. A great spot for beach strolls. The manager and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The building is modern, the rooms were clean and the bed comfy.

We stayed over NYE and the hosts organized a dinner for all of the guests. As there isn't much else around the villa, we appreciated not having to organize our own dinner, however, we felt that the NYE dinner at the villa was very expensive. It was delicious though and the fireworks display organized by the villa was lovely. The NYE party was also a little awkward because the other 8 guests were strangers yet the setting was kind of intimate. There was also a DJ which we didn't feel necessarily matched the vibe and atmosphere otherwise. This might just be our personal experience and preference though. I'm not sure what the catering situation is like during other times of the year. Perhaps just check about this in case you're staying over NYE...

Kamal is Truly friendly with the best of heart for his guests. As does the staff. We had a smooth check in and check out. Above all, we celebrated our engagement and Kamal provided a diner on the beach with sunset, torches, music, etc. He didn't ask for an extra service, Kamal and his staff just did this with their hearts. The location is as beautiful as you can see in the pictures. Nice pool, beautiful view, sound of the Waves, extremely good kitchen (compliments to the chef) with fresh fish, excellent Wines, extensive and fine breakfast. If we could give 20/10, they would certainly get it. We Truly regretted staying only 1 night.

We had the best time of our life at Villa Blu. It is such a nice building with great facilities and an amazing beach right in front. Everything was perfect. The Villa Blu team (Kamal, Lakmal, Mithun, Lasantha, and Sampath) did a great job of making our stay extraordinary. Our toddler loved the pool, the beach, and going out in the morning to see some birds and chipmunks. I am a big fan of the skills of their chef Lasantha; everything we ate was a culinary delight. I am looking very much forward to a further stay at Villa Blu.
