Hotel was great and looks really impressive when you arrive at reception.

We did get really sick when we were here after the buffet (cannot prove that is was this 100%). The pool could have been a little cleaner

This place seems to be a serious hotel in the past, and now way after its peak. It's not neglected or dirty - but could use a serious modern lift up. It still offers an efficient reception that can arrange safari tours and taxis for you, it has a decent swimming pool with lake views which was fun, as there's not much to do in town except for safari. We did not have any meal there and frankly did not notice a dining room to know if it's even possible, but they packed a generous breakfast for our 5am safari departure. Value for money is OK. Nice views to the lake from the room. A walking distance to the best restaurant in town - Chef Lady, highly recommended.

It just gives you the feel of 1990s. I usually prefer the small private places that offers better facilities for cheaper price, but it's definitely a reasonable option. Tissa center (with ATMs) is not within a walking distance, take a tuk tuk.

Location and the staff. It was a great location. So peaceful. The wind from the lake takes your breath away. Meditative vibes. View from the room, the lobby and the garden are picturesque. Staff is excellent. Especially sachini (hope I remember right!) Nimal and the barman were fantastic. I would definitely return. It's a little paradise out of the rush and the madness you may experience in Sri Lanka. This is a place not to be missed.

Just the pillows. It's too big for me and a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps I should have asked for a small one. Otherwise, everything else is great and can't complain.

Front desk staff is very friendly. Great restaurant too. I enjoyed the buffet there at night. And the service we got was excellent specially from Nimalsiri. But they are all very polite and friendly. And the view I got from the hotel room was very beautiful. You see thee whole lake from there.I would recommend Ekco Tissa to anyone who wants to stay in Tissa . From there it's very close to go to Yala too. I would like to thank the hotel staff for making our stay memorable.

Theres Nothing i didnt like there.

We had one night here, we arrived early afternoon, checked in and went on a Safari. The hotel is located on the lake, very beautiful room. The room is nice and clean, big bathroom. The swimmingpool is also very nice. When we arrived back from our Safari, the AC was leaking so they changed us to another room and we got a suite which was really nice. Food is good, breakfast is okay, but they do make fresh omelett which was good. The next day we relaxed by the pool before check out and also experienced waterbuffaloes swimming in the lake to the hotel area which was very funny! Would definately come back to this hotel if I visit the nationalpark again, a very good value for money!

its location facing the lake is awesome.

the rooms are small. just fits a couple. bathrooms has shower with no water curtains so the bathroom gets so wet after a bath. its dangerous as the floor becomes slippery. I left a message for hotel management to urgently fix thus problem before a guest breaks a bone on falling.

The location on the lake is fantastic. Lovely pool surrounded by big banyan and peepal trees. Very peaceful. The room is big and very clean with great lake view. We also enjoyed a superb massage in the spa after the safari. We arranged the safari directly with the park, and the driver came to pick us up at 5am and drop us back at 10 for no extra cost. Don't miss visiting the big buddhist stupa nearby.

The food is quite average and can be improved. We decided to eat elsewhere.

The views and swimming pool. Big toilet and the shampoo, gel and corporal cream smell very good. Also the bed and A/C were perfect.

I expected a better room because in the photos it seems like the room is moderm but the reality is that the room is quite old. We had breakfadt included but we did a Safari in Yala so they gave us a breakfast package and it didn't comply with my expectations. It does not included coffe, sandwich was completly dry and untasty.

Nice pool area. The room was large & clean. Buffet breakfast was about AUD$13 which was reasonable

We asked reception for pool towels & they said someone will bring us some. We waited but they never showed up & so we had to use our bath towels The door from dining room into the kitchen made a horrible loud scraping noise & none of the staff seemed to notice. They also need a bug catching device in the dining room. The walls were covered in insects at dinner.

They are an asset to this property !!
