We were here 2 years ago and had a great time, so booked this place again but with slight hesitation as we were not sure if the service and our experience would be as good as last time but we needn't had worried as the staff knocked it out of the park again as the service was excellent and we left the hotel just as happy as last time. From the time we got there nothing was too much for the staff. The head chef introduced himself on the first day and asked us if we would like freshly made baby food for our 8 month old baby and for the 4 days we stayed there we received fresh baby food 3 times a day for him. Special mention to the children's coordinator Senuri, who was great with our 6 year old boy. She organised activities for kids each day and put them at ease. The Christmas eve buffet was phenomenal and well planned and organised. Special mention to our waiter on that evening, Charith, who although was a trainee had great communication skills and made our evening enjoyable. Apart from the staff, the amenities in this hotel are excellent and well looked after; especially the Pool, the gym and the various bars in possesses. If you are looking for a family friendly hotel where you can relax and have great food then look no further as this hotel is second to none!

Not a huge issue and I know this was the busiest time of the year but the rooms do need a deep clean as the hotel is surrounded by nature. We found deal flies and dust behind the curtains that should have been cleaned by the staff before we checked in.

Our stay in Yala was one of the best days of our lives. The hotel location in the middle of the nature makes this place magic. Facilities are luxurious and brand new. Huge room, supercomfy bed. It was calm, perfect to chill with your couple. We were in the swimming pool and spa and it felt like it was just the 2 of us. Compared to 5-stars hotels in europe, the quality-price of this place was insanely good.

I didnt like to get an extra charge in terms of taxes and fees out of the price shown in my booking. I think its unnecessary and not nice. In my case I just noticed it in the check-in.

Very well maintained and modern hotel complex right on the lake. From the large pool you could watch birds, monkeys and other animals all day long. The food was excellent, both a la carte and buffet. The entire staff was very friendly and we would like to highlight Senuri from the reception who helped us with any questions or requests. All in all a wonderful stay, we would definitely come back.

The floor and especially the carpet in the room were very dirty when we arrived (but this may have been due to the fact that we were able to check in earlier). The room was a bit worn out for this price range.

There are open space above the 2nd shower so heat and insects could get into the room. We killed a few bugs. The gym is super small and limited equipment All drinks are extra charge if you are on half board

Spent here beautiful 4 days❤️ it’s really best hotel in Sri Lanka which extends the expectation. The staff is brilliant, everyone from the reception to the house kipper. Definitely worth it if you are planning Yala or other safari tours, because it is located near 3 Safaris. Planning Safari? Ask Harsche- the best Safari driver, a real eye hunter of wild animals with very comfortable car. Greetings to Sinury- a beautiful and kind girl from the reception ( sorry, if I wrote your name not correctly) . Spa and balinese therapists were professional. My whole family is grateful, you have taking good care of us.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Doubletree by Hilton Weerawila (11th – 13th Oct 2023). Ever since we stayed at Hilton Weerawila it has become our benchmark hotel. From the guy who sweeps the floor to the executive chef were delivering an exceptional service to the guests. We had a very warm welcome from the concierge and a quick brief about the hotel facilities, which was very good information as we decided to have dinner at the Red Shank restaurant immediately. The gym was very clean and it had all the equipment you need to get a quick workout. Even though it was buffet the food was on par with Michelin star standard, we loved every dish we tasted and special thanks to Sesh Fernando (Executive Chef) who looked after us every time we came for a meal. He was very courteous/ welcoming and it seemed he was managing his restaurant staff very well. I have to admit hotels can have all the luxury facilities but it’s the staff that makes the hotel a 5 star not the material things and the Doubletree by Hilton Weerawila delivered to the highest level. We would like to give special thanks to Sesh Fernando (Executive Chef), the chefs who worked at the Red Shank restaurant on the 12th night including Praveen (Trainee), Amilan at the pool bar (such an amazing bloke, good positive energy and we had a really good conversation about the hotel, thank you for doing us a nice cocktail), Spa ladies and all the staff who work at Hilton Weerawila. You can tell they all are very genuine and lovely people who are very passionate about what they do. Please keep the same standards we will come back again next time.

Incredible pool, beautiful rooms, fabulous food in both the Hornbill (buffet) and Red Shank fine dining restaurants. The roof top bar is a must visit too. Staff were lovely and did I mention the amazing pool and pool bar ? We will come back again, as it is a really special place. Property is on a lake and is also well located for safaris to Yala or Udawelawe. The crab curry was awesome - so thanks to the chef for that !

Maybe would have preferred a ground floor room as pool access is easier from ground floor.

A nice pit stop if you’re including Yala in your itinerary. Although it is still a drive from the national park that wasn’t a problem for us as we had a driver but keep this in mind. Lovely hotel, really comfortable/luxurious bedroom suite. Breakfast and lunch were good and the staff were all extremely pleasant and accommodating.

We ate off the a la carte dinner menu and it was pretty average, would rate it the lowest for our entire holiday. You are also limited in where you can eat as it’s in a small town.

The design of the property is stunning and the pool area is beautiful with the colours blending in to its natural surroundings. We’ve stayed in a lot of hotels travelling around Sri Lanka and this was one of our favourites. Lovely room. Well equipped and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I also had a massage in the spa which was wonderful. We booked here for two nights ready for our safari which the hotel organised. The company they used were good with a very experienced guide. We learnt lots. The quality of the food on the a la carte menu was very good. We dined from this both nights.

Our one-night stay at Doubletree By Hilton Weerawila Rajawarna Resort was amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the beauty and luxury of the hotel. Located near the Safari Park, the hotel's surroundings were breathtaking. The service was really good. The food at each restaurant was delicious, offering a variety of options to suit every palate. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the lake. It provided the perfect setting to relax and unwind. The room was spacious, clean, and everything you would expect from a 5-star hotel. We especially appreciated being able to check in a few hours earlier, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We only wish we had more days to spend at this beautiful resort, as it exudes a luxurious and peaceful vibe. We highly recommend sitting at the rooftop bar to watch the sunset, as it is truly breathtaking. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway.
