Starting from the security at the front gate, everyone is very welcoming. The vibe is incredibly comfortable. The location is stunning and attracts surfers. For travelers, it's convenient to cover all areas from Galle to Matara from here. Though I'm not a surfer, watching them from the window of my room was so much fun. Even during crowded times, there was no rush. The staff is well-organized and very friendly. The breakfast buffet has few options, but there's nothing to complain about; every item is delicious. Moreover, the dinner and other menu items are very good. The taste is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. The pool is never crowded.

The location is perfect, right by the sea and walking distance from cafes like Cactus or Marshmallows - you can choose to walk town side or walk on the beach to reach those amazing cafes. It is also walking distance to the public beach and the staff went above and beyond to my staff comfortable. I also have the best massage in Sri Lanka so far at the spa, ask for Devi, she has magic hands.

The vibe during dinner was a little bit off because I guess most people eat in town and now at the hotel and while the staff always made sure I was doing fine, it did feel a little bit lonely with only a few people only eating in the dining area.

The Insight resort was a great location to spend 5 days in Ahangama, the location is great with the hotel actially being beach front with a nice beach, great pool. The staff were very friendly and soo helpful, they looked after our little toddler like he was their own, giving him such a great time, and us a bit of a break. The breakfast was delicious and varied. Wifi was a bit poor, but an easy fix if they get a fiber connection.

What an amazing place! it’s location is incredible! When you arrive, you are greeted with a welcome drink, refresher towels and a back and neck massage if the masseuse is free. The service is incredible and you feel immediately like you’re on holiday. Yes, the rooms may seem very old school and not modern but that’s not the look this hotel is going for. They keep the Sri Lankan way of living and style and incorporate it into the rooms. The beds are very comfortable and overall the service is a absolutely fantastic!!!

The only thing I’d suggest that they could improve on is the breakfast and the breakfast variety.

Booked online, and then immediately got aggressive whatsapp messages saying I had to pay a compulsory Christmas fee of $50usd. I wasn't happy as no mention of the dinner prior to booking. I sat and watched the hotel empty out of guests leaving, who clearly didnt want to pay up. Dinner and show not worth the money..

I think, due to the location it could have more of a laidback surf vibe in stead of a resort vibe with rules and restriction signs everywhere. The thing is, you don’t feel those rules being forced by the staff as they are super mega friendly. So this is more a recommendation that I don’t think the resort needs these signs. And just enjoy the perfect location in front of a perfect surf break.

We came on family surfing holiday- 1st time to Sri lanka. Stayed at Insight resort for 5 nights. We just loved our stay at this Hotel. Has perfect Location on the beach. sea view. staff was super friendly and helpful! All attractions close by and close to best surf locations with only a tuk tuk ride away! For kids surfing this beach was not possible due to rocks - but close to Weligama with perfect waves for kids and Adults. This hotel was perfect to come back to and relax after busy day. Quiet in evenings and great pool!

location for me was absolutely spot on! right on marshmallow surf break. top floor room was overlooking the beach great for checking out the surf. pool area was good with comfy sunbeds and all the staff were 10/10. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection, eggs cooked to order. we ate in the restaurant/pool bar and the food was delicious with good sized portioned and very reasonably priced

Great location for surfing or enjoying beautifull beach. Rich breakfast. Western and srilankan food. Service amazing. Best staff ready to serve you. I like the non modern aproach. Very special hotel. Paintings on the wall amazing. Plenty of space. Lots of glass doors to look through. Open panoramic sea view. Very rare in the area. Other places are crowded.
