The hotel location is great - metro and bus stops with transportation to different parts of the city are really close, and when the weather is nice one can also just walk to Gamla Stan and other central areas. Check-in was quick and easy, and so was the check-out. We also got to enter our room earlier than we were supposed to. Staff was always kind and polite. Breakfast was great - it's typical buffet, but it also has some local bites, sweets and even pancakes! Mini-croissants are delicious! Food stocks are constantly refilled and everything's always fresh no matter when one comes to the breakfast. Room was big enough, clean and warm. Beds are comfortable and pillows are nice and fluffy. All in all, it was a great experience staying there!

I basically only have good things to say about Hotel Birger Jarl. It is a topclass hotel very central in Stockholm. I had booked well in advance, but it turned out that my daughter could come and stay with me for three out of four nights, and it could be done without any problems. We only payed extra for her breakfast. The breakfast was fabulous, a huge selection of everything from several kinds of eggs, cheeses, yogurt, bread, cold meats, fruit and everything else. The bed was very comfortable with top mattresses and really a good quality bed, although a little too small for us in our lovely little double room, but it worked. It was very quiet, the staff were ok and friendly, the food at the restaurant was also very delicious, although I felt nauseous and sick the day of my departure, but that could be due to so many things. We also got an extra duvet and an extra hard pillow for my daughter welpur, very good service.

The pillows could definitely be better. I prefer feather duvets and feather pillows and there were none

Great location, friendly and super helpful staff, nice hotel, cosy lobby area, clean rooms. As a solo female traveller, the surrounding area felt safe and quiet whilst also being central to many popular cafes, restaurants, nearby attractions and transportation. The room had an easily accessible hairdryer, iron and safe which was useful.

My double bed was 2 single beds together, so there was a gap in the middle and the mattress was very thin, more like a mattress topper, so i think the beds could be more comfortable. Slippers are not provided in the rooms, you need to ask at reception for them if needed. It would be great to see more food options in the hotel’s restaurant to cater to wider dietary needs and preferences.

Some of the staff at the reception desk were less motivated than others to assist Showerroom quite small and the step into the showerroom should be made more visible (made me stumble several times) Seating situation at breakfast: first morning at 7h30: nearly impossible to find a free table(for2) as one third of the tables were reserved for conference participants. The 'table not available'- card-system only works if people respect it which isn't always the case (we got our reserved table 'stolen'), I would recommend to maybe put the roomnumber on these cards

The staff are invaluable and friendly. They helped me with restaurant and food suggestions, provided me with a map of Stockholm, helped store my luggage on my checkout day so that I could have a few extra hours to shop around, and even helped to keep my snacks in the fridge. The breakfast is amazingly delicious, with various cold and hot dishes. Even the staff at the nearby supermarket, Hemkop, spoke fondly of the breakfast when I chatted with them. The only downside is that the restaurant can get pretty crowded on the top floor while the lower floor is more spacious but not as well stocked as the upper floor. Also, having breakfast for 3 days in a row, the dishes are the same each day, which might become a bit repetitive if someone stays for much longer than I did. The location is outside the city center, but getting around is pretty convenient, as trams, buses, and metro stops are just a stone's throw away from the hotel. The advantage is that the rooms are more significant than you'll get if you stay in the city center, and it's less crowded and noisy too. On my checkout day, I learned that the room comes with two bottles of complimentary drinking water daily (placed in the mini bar fridge), which I greatly appreciate. Still, my room wasn't replenished on the 2nd day, which made me wrongly assume it was only provided on the check-in day. The room is relatively well furnished and has a nice comfy bed. It's also clean, and the housekeeping crew does a great job daily to tidy up my room. However, My sleep was constantly disturbed by a strange screeching sound coming from either the upper floor or outside. It happens several times a day, even at 2 am. The curtains block the sunlight nicely, but there are gaps at the top and bottom of the curtain, which allows a fair amount of light into the room.

Clean and comfortable triple room with tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, hairdryer and toiletries in the shower room. This hotel is located in a very quiet area just outside of the City Centre and Old Town which can be accessed on the Metro from Radmansgaten Station which is only a few minutes walk to the hotel. The breakfast buffet is fantastic with a big variety of things to eat, hot drinks and juices. Though we did not eat lunch and dinner at the hotel, the bar had plenty of choices of drink and is open late on Friday and Saturday evenings. We had a great stay and would highly the Birger Jarl Hotel.

The best thing about this hotel is its staff. All were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and I mean every member of staff we encountered. The bar and reception area is comfortable. Wi-Fi was perfect and the bed was very comfortable. It took us roughly 12/15 minutes to walk to the centre and it’s a pleasant walk with loads of cafes and bars. Plenty of nice places to eat near to the hotel too. We stayed for 3 nights and could have stayed longer. Be sure to book onto a walking tour to orientate yourselves and then a tour of the parliament and also the city hall are a must. The Vasa museum is incredible, nothing else like it.

The bathroom was a little on the small side but perfectly functional.

Great hospitality, everything went really well. We had a 2 day booking and were visiting Stockholm for the very first time. We were reaching earlier than our check-in time but the hotel gave us an early check-in which is extremely helpful considering the rain and cold. The location is just amazing, lots of fancy restaurants and bars close by. The breakfast was just not what I was expecting, it was too good for European standards. The staff was just too kind and helpful and were happy to accommodate any requests. We got into a bit of an accident where my son accidentally burnt his skin, it was pretty bad and we had an awful day. It really kind of ruined our trip but the hotel people made sure they comforted us, they were aware of the situation, not only they asked us about his health but also upgraded us to a suite.

Nothing that we didn't like. It exceeded our expectations to the point where I am definitely going to stay here if I am visiting Stockholm again in the future. Thank you guys! Highly recommend this hotel.

- Very well equipped breakfast buffet: bread, yoghurt, eggs, sausages and cheeses amongst the "normal" breakfast meats. - We had a very large room, which was lovely and a lovely bathtub (although we did have to ask for help in getting the showerhead to work. The fault was ours). - Helpful staff - Great location close to Sveavägen, Observatorielunden and if you're in need of T-banen it takes (at most) 5 minutes to get to Rådmansgatan. - Hemköp is located on the other corner of the building for all your late night snacking needs. - The gym is located on the 7th floor, and is nicely equipped with an opportunity for both cardio/strength training.

- I would have liked more visible vegan/vegetarian markings in the breakfast buffet. - The gym equipment is a bit stale and old, and some of the machines could use a check and perhaps some oil.
