The location of the hotel was right in the city and not a very far walk from Thun SBB (>10mins). Staff here are amazing, super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and beds are extremely comfortable and spacious. The views of the room are spectacular and the hotel provides welcome drinks at the restaurant opposite the hotel which is a great bonus!

Despite that Krone was amazing, there are some takeaways to the hotel which are the pillows were too soft for my liking and the room walls were on the thinner side as I can hear people walking and talking, the windows are not very well sound proofed as you can hear what is happening outside.

We loved Thun! It is a beautiful and quiet little town. The hotel is located in the center of Thun, which makes it very convenient to visit many of its attractions. Not too many tourists. We highly recommend people traveling to the Interlaken/Jungfrau area to stay in Thun. It is approximately 10 minute walk to the Thun bus/train station. Friendly staff, we felt welcomed. Breakfast is good. They offered us a welcome drink from the bar across the hotel, it is a very nice gesture of the hotel. The water pressure of the showerhead is by far the strongest! I personally loved it. The room does not have a microwave or fridge like the hotels in U.S, but it has a common area that has a fridge to store your food in. If I bring my family to the Jungfrau area again, I will book this hotel again.

The room does not have a microwave or fridge like the hotels in the U.S. The common area only has a fridge but not a microwave. If people need to heat up their food, they have to ask the hotel staff, who will be gone by a certain time. In this way, I think it is inconvenient. They should just put a microwave in the common area as well.

This lovely hotel sits on the Rathausplatz and has a section that faces the Aare River. It is just lovely. It sits within the Old Town area of Thun and has all of the charm that offers. The staff could not have been more gracious and professional. We stayed 3 nights and I would have loved to have stayed longer. Connections to local buses and trains are within a very easy walk. We loved the coffee/tea/fruit station provided on our floor and the air conditioning was fabulous for our warm August stay. Even our basic room was very comfortable. Though Thun is about an hour from Interlaken, so kind of far from mountain excursions that are even farther, it is a treasure of a place that should not be missed! Thun and Hotel Krone Thun won top awards from our trip!

I loved everything!

Fantastic location in the middle of Thun. Staff were very kind and cheery. They let us park our motorbike in the basement which was very much appreciated. Room was really big and comfy, and also very clean. Breakfast was nice with plenty of variety. The football was on one night we stayed but our room was facing the other side of the building from the square so it wasn't loud at all. Air con in the room! Very useful! You get given public transport passes for your stay with discounts on local attractions, and also a drink at the cocktail bar opposite. Great value for money for Switzerland. Thun is a beautiful little town with a great dining scene - Recommend Parada 30 for excellent Mexican food and the Ribs restaurant for a hearty meal.

The only negative was it would be nice to have shampoo + conditioner instead of generic wash-everything soap in the bathroom. For a 4 star hotel I expect this. But it's not a huge detractor!

Clean, adequate size, easy access to coffee area.

The ventilation system was shut down, and locked out of use, NO VENTILATION… The operable window provided some ventilation, however, it opened to the front of the building where a bar and restaurant provided patrons outdoor service and seating until 1:00am in the morning. We listened to loud people drinking, laughing, and singing. We paid full price for a room with no ventilation and had to make the choice of disruptive noise or ventilation from an open window.

This was a typical 4+ Star Hotel. The staff was very friendly. Hotel has even offered discount in the public parking Garage in Thun Center. Room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Hotel Restaurant was good as well. Hotel is located in the old center of the City. Maybe it was little bit noisy late in the evening, but this is how city centers are with a lot of bars and restaurants around. This is very normal and acceptable.

Everything was perfect.

Comfortable clean rooms and lovely staff. We had two rooms with a view of the square and one on the 3rd floor with a view over the river. Lift access.

The restaurant was not open on the two nights we stayed (Sunday and Monday) which we didn't know before we booked. There wasn't much open around the hotel and we had an elderly person with us who couldn't walk very far. On the second day we didn't get another bottle of water when the rooms were refreshed which was a shame and it was too late to buy any when we got back. The tea/coffee station (very good idea) on that floor had also run out of water. It may have been available on another floor. The vending machine was out of order. No shampoo or conditioner but had shower gel.

A friendly welcome from Larissa & Isobel with information about the local area too. Lovely area & hotel in great location by the square. Short walk to the Riverside & lots of restaurants although we found the red ox just along the road & had a lovely meal there. Room lovely & looked out over the street. Nice comfy bed & very nice breakfast! Liked that you could boil your own egg so have an egg exactly how you like it & hot too! 6 minutes gave you a perfectly cooked egg with a nice soft runny yolk! Wish we'd had longer than 1 night! Thank you Hotel Krone!

We liked everything!

We loved the very spacious room with the huge bathroom with a proper shower and large shower compartment! The area on the 2 nd floor with coffee, tea and fruits was a nice touch too. It made up for the absence of coffee and tea kettle in our room. The welcome drink in the bar just opposite was great too!

It was a little far from the train station- 15-20 CHF by taxi. But the hotel had an arrangement with the taxi people.

i like the location, where there are lots of interesting creators' stores on the street, and along the riverside, there are good restaurants and the old bridge and the view... the breakfast is good, especially the egg they prepared is quite good. (i mean the raw egg for boiling). i happen to stay there during the Thunfest, and the hotel informed in advance there would be loud music the whole night. i love music and ...when i open the window it's like i am sitting in the VIP room in a concert. that was fantastic!
