My wife and I got a great deal on the Presidential Suite 1602 and the room was incredible. The room was huge on the 16th floor with a complete bedroom suite, living room suite, two big screen TVs and a separate dining area. It was amazing! The beds were incredibly comfortable, the bathroom amazing, and windows all around with a great view of the city. The hotel breakfast was also amazing. For the price of a basic motel in Canada, the Kung Shang hotel was an incredible deal. And it is a short 8-10 minute walk from the train station. We happened to be nicely ensoncsed here when the typhoon went through Taiwan and would definitely stay here again.

Very good location, right in the city centre. Very big family room (exceeded our expectations, we can leave 3 luggages open at the sofa area) with reasonable prices. Front desk staff and the cleaner are all friendly and helpful. Always try to accommodate our requests. Breakfast is fantastic. Our kids love the variety. Self-service laundry and water dispensers at Level 3 are really convenient for family. A big thank you to the staff who have contacted us via booking to check out on the jacket we left behind.

The room and toilet are very clean. The daily breakfast buffet offers a variety of options suitable for both adults and kids, and the drinks include sugar-free options like iced soy milk. There are free daily tea snacks, but they are only redeemable in the afternoon. The location is excellent, with a supermarket and 7-Eleven just across the road. It's about a 10-minute walk to Kaohsiung Station

The Level 1 lobby does not have Wi-Fi for customers. The lift is small, too slow, and there are only two lifts. During the breakfast peak time from 9-10 am, the lift becomes heavily congested. The lift does not require a hotel keycard to access different floors, which poses a safety concern. My hotel room door does not close automatically, which can be troublesome at times. There are not enough facilities; the only one available is a game room for children, and there is nothing else for adults to do in the hotel.

The room size was fantastic for the price I paid. We could open all luggage and still had room to walk around. The dining area was such an interesting corner. It is located very near to the Liu He Night Market which is within walking distance. The hotel has laundry machines and a kids area too which I find it very accommodating. And the small bench to wear your shoes as well was a nice touch.

The little ledge before you go into the room and into the bathroom is quite scary. We almost tripped a few times.

The price/value ratio for my stay was incredible. I got a huge suite for a price of a room. So it realy was a pleasant and comfortable stay. The location was also very good. In the city center close to Kaoshiung famous metro station, also close to bus stations and Kaohsiung Station. Also all facilities avaiable very close around the hotel. The stuff was friendly. Also the hotel itself is a kids friendly hotel.

The common areas were to cold for me.The main lobby and the restaurant. It is subjective thing, I am sensitive to cold.The breakfast selection was generaly rich but limited in western options. This is also a subjective thing. I tried some strange combinations :-)

The location just 5 mins from the Red line metro was exactly what we wanted. Room was very large with a little sitting room as well. Very comfortable. Breakfast was super, a buffet with a huge amount of options, staff were super helpful. A real surprise was a complimentary afternoon tea from 1.30 to 4.30 with cakes snack and beverages. Dining choices for dinner are plentiful, with many options within 5 to 10 mins walk. Would not hesitate to stay again and recommend to anyone. Ps bathroom had a big bath which is unusual and would be great if travelling with kids.

Buffet breakfast was decent (mostly the same every morning with a change in the vegetables +/- meat dish). Also free afternoon tea as well from 1:30-4:30pm daily. The beds were also very comfortable, and the room was spacious. The hotel was decently close to Formosa Boulevarde MRT station.

There were only 2 elevators serving 16 floors. No stairs option from what I was aware of. Only 1 washing machine, and 1 dryer machine. Difficult when multiple people were trying to use the laundry services at night time.

We liked our stay overall except for the shower was very uncomfortable.

We were given an ADA room when we didn’t need one nor ask for one, the problem with this arrangement was that the shower head’s located super low to my shoulders height (I’m not a tall person at all), in order to wash my hair, I had to hold on the shower head in one hand and wash my hair with the other hand, adding the very strong water pressure, made the shower experience very unpleasant. Not sure if normal rooms’ showers might be better, but for the uncomfortable shower set up, I wouldn’t want to stay at this hotel again because a nice shower is much needed in a hot summer.

- Buffet Breakfast included which has a lot of choices - They have recently added a washing machine and dryer - The room was tidy and the lighting was nice & a large space to walk around the room The receptionist was friendly and invited us to have a tea dessert for each person and drinks as we arrived prior to the 3 pm check-in time

- The 2 lifts are a bit weak which has a limited number of people to get in. Also, it gets very busy and time-consuming during the morning which might need to wait quite a long time to reach the ground floor - The movie lists on the TV are extremely outdated, and have only basic news and entertainment channels

Probably, the best place to stay in the area. It's themed, so every room has its own theme, mine was 'Avengers' with all the fluffy Captain Americas and Thanoses scattered around the room! The room itself is quite big too, very clean, and comfortable. Hotel is 6-7 minutes walk from Formosa Boulevard station which is the center of Kaohsiung. You want to stay in the area to travel conveniently to any location. Overall, it is beautiful designer hotel with all amenities you might need, lots of cafes and convenience stores around.

To be honest, the only thing I can think of is the air conditioner. It was so loud that I needed to turn it off during night to get a comfortable sleep. But since it's very hot in Taiwan in summer, it's getting hot in the room pretty soon, so I got up the middle of the night, turned the air conditioner on again, waiting for like 10 to 15 minutes and then turn it off again, cuz it's hard to sleep with it on, so noisy it is...
