This small local hotel was perfect for us. Communication with our host was excellent, before and during, and although it was nothing fancy, it was good value. a 5 minute walk to the river ferries made it a great location to see the main sites along the river. Self serve coffee and tea was appreciated. It was clean with great AC. The neighborhood and front Street goes very quiet after 6 pm when Wat Arun closes.There's few restaurants in the immediate area (a 711 is only a short walk) but a 5 minute walk to the ferry and a 5 minute crossing (about 20 cents) and you'll find many options.

Very clean, staff very friendly, fridge and ac in room worked well as did the shower. Good sized room.

A bit of noise but we always sleep with earplugs (some are provided too if you don’t have your own) so no problem at all sleeping. Found the bed a little hard but simply put spare duvet under the mattress protector which made it really comfy. Excellent value for money. Technically the ‘wrong side’ of the river but the 2 minute ferry crossing is just 2 mins walk from hotel so was no problem at all and very cheap. Hotel is almost next to away Arun. Felt safe here even at night.

There is something magical about this place. 2min walk from beautiful temple Arun Wat. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. Most importantly the owners are very friendly. Our room was spacious, beds comfortable, pretty big AND VERY CLEAN bathroom. I spent almost 2 months in Thailand and that was the cosiest place on our way. There is a kitchen on ground floor that you can use. Tea,.coffee, cookies, instant soups, kettle, juice. Plates, mugs, everything that you need. I actually felt like I'm visiting relatives, not that I'm staying in hotel. Thanks for that !

The hotel host went above and beyond to help us with everything from finding late night food to figuring out how to get to our next destination. I cannot recommend him enough. The room was extremely clean and quiet. It's a 4 minute walk to Wat Arun, and walking distance from the Grand Palace and the Flower Market. Rajadamnern muay thai stadium and Thon Buri train station were a 100-200 baht taxi ride. I would not hesitate to book this place again.

We loved the location, so close to Wat Arun and the ferry services, but in 'old' Bangkok. It was very good value for money considering its great location. It is an old building, and more like an air bnb than a hotel. This is simple style, clean, accommodation in a kind, genuine family home. The shower was good, and the air con worked well and was quiet. There is a fridge in the room. They say breakfast is not provided, but there were some packets of cereal and biscuits downstairs, along with tea and coffee. If you brought in some bread and butter, there is a toaster. The owners were very helpful organising taxis to and from the airport at a reasonable rate. It probably isn't ideal if you want nightlife!

The shutters and screens kept out the light, but not sound. Most of the time this was a very quiet location, except for the occasional dog and cat, and the very early morning trumpet reveille, we presume from the naval college!! Not a big problem, but maybe earplugs would be useful!

Ob Arun house was traditional-style comfort and in a quiet location perfect for Wat Arun temple and river transport. The only possible drawback for location is that ferries stop running by 7pm, but I was happy to rely on Grab taxi if needed after that, and the neighbourhood is charming. The hosts were incredibly helpful, including baggage storage and arranging transfers. I appreciated the tea and coffee and the downstairs dining space.

All good.

The room was a comfortable size for 2 of us plus luggage. Air conditioning helped cool off the room for sleeping. The family who owns Arun House was very helpful giving us recommendations for dinner and to access the ferry, a 5 baht short ride across the river to see the reclining Buddha and Royal Palace. It’s also a couple minutes walk from Temple of the Dawn and street market.

It is an hour drive from the airport. It’s not really a problem but be aware for planning.

This house is very well located and I had a perfect stay. You can walk to Wat Arun and also to the boarding pier to cross the River to visit the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless. The shower had good pressure and warm water (very important to people who loves a good shower after touristing all day). The best part of OB Arun are the owners. They go beyond what is expected to help you have a good time while in Bangkok. They booked my airport transfer and a taxi driver to bring me to further locations as the floating and railway markets. I had only 2 days in Bangkok and would never be able to accomplish all I did if it wasn’t for their generosity to help me. Thank you so much! I will recommend your home to everyone I know that plans to visit Thailand.

There is absolutely nothing to not like.

The location is perfect for traveler, It’s super close to Wat Arun and the pier to the Royal Palace! The facilities are also very good, the rooms are always so clean, there are also free drinks, biscuits and instant noodles in the common area, we really enjoyed them! The service is excellent as well, the householder is very nice and helpful! We love the stay here, will come back in the future!

Maybe get the window open sometimes

Both Oak and his father were exceptionally wonderful hosts. The property was very close to Wat Arun and river Chao phraya making our stay reasonably priced due to ferry rides to n fro the other side... talking of the property itself...everything was squeaky clean the room, bathroom, kitchen. I Highly recommended this place to all my friends travelling to Bangkok.
