Our stay at Cou Cou Hotel was unforgettable, thanks to the exceptional staff who truly go above and beyond. From the moment we arrived, we felt so special, and their kindness shone through when they surprised my son with a thoughtful small gift for his birthday. The coffee here is hands-down the best we had in Thailand, and the breakfast was so delicious we couldn’t resist dining there twice. The hotel is spotless, with a lovely ambiance that adds to the charm. The location is unbeatable—right on the edge of the old town, within walking distance of attractions, fantastic restaurants, and the vibrant night market.

While the road noise might be an issue for light sleepers, the hotel thoughtfully provides earplugs, which helped us sleep soundly.

A stylish hotel with a good location on the edge of the old town. Nice pool and the standard of the decor is superb. The breakfast is not included but there is an in house option or a couple of really good places nearby. Obviously this bumps the price up. Worth noting that next door is an open air BBQ restaurant which currently doesn't show on google maps so there is a bit of noise from there. We weren't bothered by it but thought it worth noting. Good location for Grab taxis to pick up and drop off from.

The room has two enormous cupboard that are about 8ft in the air so impossible to use. The bed side tables are small with massive lamps on so you can't put usual stuff on them without putting the lamps on the floor nor do the bedside drawers open. Weird interior design options.

The interior is amazing. Room is cute and clean. Staffs are super friendly.

There’s no safe in the room, personally I like to keep important documents in the safe while away. I really enjoyed the stay and love the hotel, Unfortunately there’s a big bbq restaurant called Bigbig Shabu next the hotel, it’s very popular among local people, and it’s busy every evening. There’s a lot of bbq smoke, and you can smell a bit in the room when no AC on as well. This restaurant will do a lot of dish washing from midnight and it last for like 2 hours and it’s pretty noisy, they talk and laugh and you hear utensils noise. So be careful if you are a sensitive sleeper.

What an absolutely perfect stay at Coucou. I was expecting great things given the outstanding reviews I'd read, and was not disappointed. Great location on the edge of the old town (better than being inside, in my opinion), beautifully appointed rooms with high quality fittings, quiet and comfortable. As others have mentioned, the breakfast is outstanding. But the best thing is the people - it is wonderful to encounter hotel owners that clearly love hospitality, going out of their way to make you feel welcome. If returning to Chiang Mai I would book again in a heartbeat. Fabulous place.

Leaving

The room was spotlessly clean. Electric kettle, hair dryer, mini fridge were equipped. 2 bottles of water were provided every day. Staff were excellently kind. Swimming pool was on the 2nd floor but located little separately (like half floor up from 2nd floor) so you can swim with little privacy. And the pool size was appropriate - not big but not too small like some other hotels in old town area. If I return to Chiang Mai, this will be my first option.

Only issue was the shower temperature. It was hard to set exact moderate temperature between hot and cold, but this is quite usual for most old town hotels so I didn't mind at all.

It's a hotel with characteristic beauty and elegance. After walking around in hot hot Chiang Mai, this place is like an oasis to chill and cool down. Yes, breakfast is not included, but that means the quality is great. I love the crispy bacon! It's located in old down, enjoying the convenient location means unavoidable noises from street. I brought ear plugs but never using them when sleeping. At the stylish pool, I just listen to my music and totally chilled. And the host is super helpful and friendly to share all info about Chiang Mai and Thailand.

Nothing I can complain.

Location is fantastic. Its a walking distance to one of my favorite restaurant: Baan Landai Fine Thai Cuisine, and music venue: The North Gate Jazz Co-Op. Despite its central location, the hotel is quiet and peaceful. The view from the pool is beautiful - You're in the busy part of town yet surprisingly peaceful. Nevermind that the room has no view - it has ample light, bathroom is clean, room is spacious. Despite a see-through bathroom, its well shield with blinds if you're sharing a room.

The WC seem to smell a little after flushing, but it resolves after awhile.

The hotel was super clean and the room very nice and comfortable. It's a very nice small hotel - room and en suite is nice clean and new. Great shower. The owner was very helpful to get transportation and make reservations for us. We also had the coffee and breakfast and it was delicious. The staff did a super job of keeping everything around the hotel clean including the pool area.

Only down side is the pool was a little bit noisy due to the hotel is on a heavily traveled road. I just put my head phones and it was nice a cool and relaxing. It's in the shade in the afternoon.

The property was clean and contemporary, really nice rooms, those few reviews who said the room was small was wrong they are really big. We loved our stay highly recommend to book this hotel. It is ran by a couple who are sooo friendly and really made our stay even better. So many recommendations from them and really nice to make you feel at home and ask how your day was when you got back or left :) We wish we can come back to Chiang Mai and stay there again! The coffee and breakfast is yummy and the cake shop next door is a recommend!

The water was lukewarm warm, personally I like my showers hot, I did feel a bit cold to take them. The swimming pool is very nice but very very cold. Probably as the sun doesn’t hit it, might be different when it is hotter, compared to the cooler months.

One of the best places I have stayed in Thailand, it’s so well constructed, styled and thought out. The owners are lovely people and always friendly and have a chat with you. The location was perfect, walking distance to the Sunday Night Market. The room was beautiful. Modern tv that allows you to login to streaming apps, beautiful bathroom. The pool overlooks the old town which is wonderful. There is also plenty to choose from for breakfast as well. I highly recommend this to anyone that comes to Chiang Mai. When we come back we will stay here longer!
