My stay in that hotel was supurb! It was beautifully located and the view of the canal was amazing. The room was big, elegant and well maintained, I felt there was a slight problem with the AC but not something I’d complain of, and at nights the main street gets a little noisy. I enjoyed every bit of my stay, the cafe down stairs was so refreshing. It was close to all needed facilities; Tourist information, 7-eleven, modern Wash & dry, and food stalls were all within 5-10 minutes walk maximum.

The hotel and room were very nice, boutique feel and nice staff at reception. Strong pressure and hot water in the shower, which we enjoyed. The hotel has a cafe providing free coffee, tea, and snacks to guests. It's a nice touch :)

The breakfast was pretty minimal, I only took some fruit and tea. There was a bad musty/ moldy smell in the shower that spread to the entire room. Maybe the humidifier they have in the rooms can help with that. And worth noting that the rooms facing the canal/ moat can be a bit noisy as it's a main road.

overall, my experience was good. The hotel offered free water, which was a definite plus, and its location was convenient.

One aspect that disappointed me was the reception's unwillingness to lend me a fork to eat my takeaway food. Despite the presence of forks in the on-site café, they strictly denied my request, even when I offered to be charged in case of theft and asked them to mark it down. Additionally, the hotel did not have a bottle opener available for borrowing. These small inconveniences were a letdown, considering the otherwise satisfactory stay.

I liked the interior design and the decoration of the room. It was super cute. The staff was friendly but a bit impatient at the time of check out. They have free snacks for clients but they weren't fresh unfortunately.

Breakfast options were very limited. The snacks weren't fresh or new. The hot/cold water in the shower wasn't working properly. Sometimes it was cold when the hot water is on and vice versa. The walls were thin and sometimes I could hear the people in the next room.

Really nice and cosy hotel and a very good location (I had a scooter, that helps). Really nice concept, free coffee and snacks, everything I needed was in the room too.

There's noise from the busy road. But most important: although they clean every day, they didn't clean the room thoroughly ... under the bed, behind the fridge, ... dust, a sock and wrappers from previous guests ... nobody took the effort of cleaning under the bed for at least a month or more. That's simply disgusting and really should be taken care of.

A Beautiful hotel. Very nice to stay in a small independent hotel. The staff were very welcoming. Although breakfast was not available there was fruit, toast, treats and coffee/tea from the cafe provided complimentary. Very clean rooms. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This was our second stay in this good quality hotel and the reception team had read and willingly agreed to our request for a choice of room. This hotel, despite the small room sizes, is beautifully furnished and maintained to a high standard and has a great team of room service and front reception staff. It is easily equivalent to a four star hotel.

We had such a wonderful time at Sanae Oldtown. We extended our stay numerous times as we were just so happy that we really didn’t want to move anywhere else. The staff absolutely made our stay so amazing (notably Pat who was incredibly helpful and spoke to us about all the wonderful places to visit in Chiang Mai, she really is such an asset to the hotel). The location was perfect, rooms were clean and well maintained and free coffee/water and nibbles were an added bonus.

Rooms were a good size and the bed was super comfortable. Great location to old town Chiang mai and the free nibbles in reception were very tasty.

Bathroom could have used a bath and there was little balcony space

Safe and cozy ambience, free fruit, snack, bread, coffee at bar. I like the common area here, comfy and quiet, it is soundproofing though besides to the main road. And location is great as well since there is a very cute cat cafe nearby.

Temperature of shower water is not stable, which should be improved.
