This hotel was like a small oasis in Chiang Mai, set back from the road up a beautiful bamboo lined drive way, it was super quiet, very green and everything we wanted after being in Bangkok. The pool was fantastic and next to the bar / restaurant. Excellent breakfast and the room was awesome with a little balcony that overlooked part of the gardens. Great location from town, you can literally walk everywhere within the old town itself and probably further if you wished. I would certainly return and probably try for longer, we only did 2 nights and felt we didn't enjoy it as much as we could. They organised a transfer for us which was perfect, met by a lovely lady who drove us the short distance.

Nothing really jumps out, if I was being picky, there was no AC in the bathroom, only in the main bedroom area but this is a high level eco location. Also, the bar is a little more expensive - again this is a minor point and didn't stop us. A large beer was 230 baht (clearly I'm getting tight in my old age)

Breakfast was not great. Some proper jam would be nice.

The location is perfect - an oasis of peace and tranquility in the heart of Chiang Mai! The architectural style of the hotel is outstanding, typically 'Thai' - just beautiful. We were here 10yrs ago and upon arrival this time we received a card welcoming us back, how very sweet and thoughtful! Each room is different, some a little larger than others and some with a balcony. The beds are comfortable (I have stayed in four different rooms now), the showers are very good and great air conditioning. The breakfast is the best we have ever encountered with fresh fruits, cereal, yoghurt, dried fruits, toast and pastries, continental foods and hot breakfast items freshly prepared in front of you. The hotel Spa is amazing, so clean and expertly organised. I went for the 'Signature' massage and it was Bliss! My thanks to the great skills of NOM who helped to erase my back issues. The hotel provided special touches like fresh fruit in your room daily, when turning your bed down for the night a card was left which gave a wonderful story about 'Lanna' people, a citronella candle to help against mosquitos etc. and there is live, tasteful music in the restaurant most nights. The whole team of staff are so friendly and helpful, especially THIARA, head of reception, he is outstanding. In fact by the end of our 17 days I felt that we were part of a family and we were sad to leave! Should you be fortunate enough to be there for Xmas and New Year as we were then I can highly recommend the Gala Dinners. We thought they were a little expensive (compared to usual prices in Thailand) however we were impressed by the quality, effort and thought that went into the evenings. Lanterns adorned the grounds and the pool, tables presented beautifully, we had the most beautiful live music with singers, violinist and guitar, and an incredible buffet with a huge choice of wonderful food.

Having to go home!

From the moment we arrived, we felt like we'd arrived someplace very special. We visited Chiang Mai during burning season which I was a bit apprehensive about - especially after seeing the smoke upon landing at the airport. But as soon as I stepped into the hotel, it felt like a true oasis. The staff members were incredible - very welcoming, kind and helpful. The pool was delightful and much needed in such heat. The bedrooms and general decor of the hotel was very beautiful, comfortable and I loved how instantly relaxed I felt upon walking into my bedroom with the traditional music playing and candle burning. I also really appreciated the porters carrying my heavy suitcase up the stairs and for the housekeeping team to add a mosquito net which was needed. The restaurant and bar area was great - I recommend the 3 Kings Monument cocktail. The spa was actually the best spa I've ever visited - we ended up getting three treatments each! And as for the location, if you visit over a weekend - the Sunday Night Market is directly outside the hotel which was fantastic. We loved our stay here, so much so, I cancelled another hotel we were due to stay in once we returned to Chiang Mai in favour of this one - and I'm sure I'll return next time I visit.

The drinks service by the pool was a little slow, so I wonder if this could be improved with a better ordering system?

Very central location in the heart of the old city. Breakfast was good and our meal at the restaurant was very good. The staff were always very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed the complementary hand massage and every day they had some sort of short/simple activity under the tamarind tree. I really enjoyed the authentic Lanna architecture and the greenery throughout the property.

The room was a bit dark. Lighting was not great. Pool water had an unusual taste and smell. Probably too much chlorine.

The location is great and just walking distance to most attractions. Additionally the front street is where the Sunday market happens so you just need to go outside the hotel to experience it. The room was ok and it was offer to set a net to protect from mosquitos. Breakfast was also really good.

The hotel is an open concept of small buildings meaning that to move around the hotel you need to access open areas, so when it rain you need umbrella. In our room it was not possible to darken the room. The door has windows with a transparent curtains so the light heats you as soon as the sun shines, if you are a light sleeper, keep it mind or bring a mask.

The hotel is an architectural gem, such a beautiful sanctuary in the heart of the old city. There’s a magic to the place that starts on the street from the bamboo walkway. A very special feeling. The staff were excellent and the food, particularly breakfast really, really good.

This is all down to preference, whilst beautiful, I found our room too dark. If we’d opted for a balcony room that would’ve helped, so would do that next time. We needed an extra bed, so fitting that in did impede the windows, so we couldn’t really open for more light during the day.

Location is perfect for exploring Old Town Chiang Mai. The hotel is a peaceful sanctuary right in the middle of town. Amazingly quiet given its location! The boutique shop had wonderful goods, some of the nicest I found in Chiang Mai. Staff were professional, helpful, attentive, and very friendly. Breakfast was included and delicious. The grounds and facilities are very beautiful with a very special aesthetic, almost like a monastery.

I wish there had been a lounge/sitting area that wasn’t the reception area or right next to the pool. It would have been nice to enjoy the peaceful setting in a garden (rather than right next to the pool). The bed was VERY firm for me.

Great location, very pretty rooms, staff were friendly

Pool service was a bit lacking, initial orders taken but then no further service and not clear how to order additional drinks/snacks without having to go inside the restaurant in wet swimwear. Vegetarian menu for breakfast wasn’t advertised so initially we just had tea and went quite hungry. Was provided with the menu on the second day and had a good breakfast so this should be advertised as being available more

This is a small 40 room hotel with low rise two storey buildings built around courtyards; it has a very nice feel. Staff are excellent. There is a nice restaurant serving good food which we preferred to all but one of the restaurants outside the hotel. We stayed in the Spa Suite (6201) which is spacious with a bath and outside shower. It has its own patio area with lounging chairs. No traffic noise.

An annoying dog would bark at night! Not really down to the hotel!
