I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Chiang Mai! Upon arrival, I was surprised with a thoughtful bag of Christmas treats, and the staff were incredibly attentive throughout my stay. Special thanks to Lang, who handled my changing stay dates with ease, and the cleaners who accommodated evening requests perfectly. The location was excellent—close to the Night Bazaar and not far from the Old Town, making it easy to explore. Thank you to Lang and the team for your warm hospitality—I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning!

Excellent choice if you visit the city

Staff, food, rooms, cleanliness, everything was good. They even gave us a Christmas, New Year hamper, which was pretty good. Very comfortable bed and pillows.

One restaurant had limited menu. Shower over bath was not preferred, but it's just my preference, not a big issue. One thing that was annoying was wifi connection in the room. It kept disconnecting all the time and was quite choppy. It made things difficult and we had to go on roaming which worked out expensive for us.

What an amazing hotel, I could write all day after staying here for over a week. Empress is beautifully designed, immaculately maintained and with a lovely staff. The breakfast is solid with some American and Asian choices to satisfy everyone. The restaurant has limited choices but the food is good for a hotel. There is a lot of shopping and eating around the hotel but it's a taxi ride to visit the old city. It's definitely a pricier place for Chiang Mai but the luxury is worth it.

I'd say the restaurant and bar could expand their options, but what they have is good. Also, and this is a regional difference, there is no attempt to conserve/recycle plastic in South East Asia.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Empress Hotel for a week, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff at this hotel truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They were not only friendly but also incredibly helpful, always ready to assist with any questions or requests we had. The hotel's proximity to the Chabad House was a huge plus for us, as it made attending services and events there very convenient. The combination of the warm and welcoming staff and the ideal location made our stay at The Empress Hotel perfect for our needs. Overall, I highly recommend The Empress Hotel to anyone looking for a welcoming and comfortable place to stay in the area. I would gladly return in the future and extend my gratitude to the staff for making our stay memorable.

The hotel needs cleaning improvements

The hotel was well located, walking distance from amenities. There was a good selection at the breakfast buffet and staff were all very friendly and helpful. The highlight of our stay however, was the wonderful staff member Aoy at the front desk. Aoy greeted us everyday and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, from providing us a gift bag of snacks upon arrival and even sourcing us a box and arranging a free lift to the post office for us. Aoy made our stay a pleasure.

The only downside to our stay was that our air conditioning unit was broken, however Aoy immediately moved us to an upgraded room to solve the problem.

The staff at the reception desk were just wonderful Amazing service by oyo she was so gracious, kind and soooo lovely and welcoming . We were just amazed by her genuine nature.

The breakfast was dry disappointing compared to other hotels and very little choice for vegetarians and items were not labelled . We struggled with breakfast and we wished we had opted to eat out instead of paying for it. The hotel should consider more vegetarian options for sure.

1. Beautifully appointed and well maintained hotel. 2. The staff were welcoming, courteous and helpful always 3. The live band in the evenings was a treat 4. Proximity to the night market was big plus - only about a 15 min walk 5. Well equipped fitness centre 6. Many cheap laundry services and massage options nearby 7. Short drive to the old city ~25 mins

1. Spa reception was un-manned and reception at ground level was not able to explain what was included in the spa packages 2. Not many staff speak English so communication had to be a bit creative sometimes :) 3. The bath tub would get blocked frequently - staff were very prompt and helpful with sorting it out but it would have been better if the tub didn't get clogged so easily

We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights and it was amazing! !The staff were extremely nice.. they made sure we have the most comfortable and amazing stay we can have.. any request we had adressed very fast..we had 2 rooms with connecting door which was fabulous for our 2 adults + 3 kids family.. breakfast was very good.. less than 10 min walk from the night market and many local good resturanrs nearby..I would very recommend this hotel for a family holiday!!

Maybe only the beds weren't that comfortable but I think this is the standard in Thailand:)
