Lovely family feel. The staff were great and the woman on the front desk was very friendly and super helpful, giving us tips and all the information we needed. Just little things like the breakfast, helping with transfers and even offering free beach mats was so appreciated. Would recommend! :)

Only one shower per floor but could just use others that were free. The door was also kind of annoying to open and close but really not much to complain about

One of the better hostels, if not the best, visited so far. The staff was super friendly and very helpful, her English is also good. The hostel is clean, the bathrooms have separate (!) shower rooms so the toilets doesnt get all wet like every other place. They are also big and clean. The dorm beds are spacious and it almost feels like a own little room. Excellent planning with storage, power plugs and curtains for each bed. Breakfast is simple but good, eggs, toast, some cakes and various drinks. Location near the beach and a couple good restaurants.

Review of Hub of Joys – Koh Lanta I recently stayed at Hub of Joys on Koh Lanta for three nights at the beginning of January, and overall, I had a great experience! This hostel offers excellent value for money, with so many perks that make it a fantastic option for budget travelers. Pros: Affordable: The price is incredibly reasonable, especially considering the amenities included. Location: It’s in a great spot, just a short walk from the beach and conveniently located near a small market and restaurants. Breakfast: The included breakfast was a standout—delicious and a perfect start to the day. Friendly Owner: The owner was kind and super helpful, making sure everyone felt welcome and taken care of. Scooter Rental: Renting a scooter directly from the hostel was easy and hassle-free. Security: The building and dorm rooms are secured with a key-card lock system, and personal lockers are available (with an option to use your own lock for added security). Comfortable Features: Each bed has curtains for privacy, a real duvet (not just a basic blanket), a power socket, and a personal light. The dorm is air-conditioned for a good night’s sleep. Clean Bathrooms: Each floor has 2 toilets, 1 shower, and 2 sinks, all kept very clean. Overall, Hub of Joys is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for an affordable and well-located hostel on Koh Lanta. They have "welcoming 🍨 desserts " for every newcomer. They have warm-hearted and helpful timetables of scenery points such as Koh Samui, Khao Sok, Khao Lak, Phuket, and so on. They have meals that can be ordered far more valuable than the other restaurants. And the price is reasonable and favor are up to you. The pictures about breakfast are 99% 👍 true, and the rest of 1% of the truth depends on the exploration of yourself. Anyway, be honest , this is a very foudimentally nice choice to settle down in "Hub of joys".

The staff were very nice and helpful, the beds were nice and wide with curtains for privacy, and there was always drinking water available, I stayed for a couple of weeks and they offered to change my sheets and give me a new towel every week, the food was reasonably priced and very tasty, there are lockers for your things, however they are small and in the lobby. When I left they organized a van for me to get to my next destination and even gave me some small goodbye gifts!

the mattresses are hard and the pillows are worn out, there is only one shower per floor, and it often smells, the sink drains are visibly very dirty, the airconditioning in the room is off between 10 - 4pm and the airconditioning in the public spaces is only on between 10- 4pm so it can get very hot in these places outside of those hours, the airconditioning does work decently well though.

This place has everything you want in a hostel. Clean, friendly staff, free breakfast, shops and restaurants right next door, the beach just 2 minutes down the road, a cool view on the mountains, comfy, tons of bookable activities, food to order throughout the day, coffee, tea and popcorn for free all day, a free water dispenser, warm water showers with free shampoo and gel plus towel provided, clean, quiet, social if you're not a complete introvert and is cheap. What more do you need? It has all a backpacker wants

The location was near to "long beach" so easy to access the sea. The hostel was always active with people hanging out, coming and going...so it is super easy to meet fellow travelers :) The curtains on the beds were REALLY great and gave a true sense of privacy. Moreover, the beds themselves, were quite big and totally comfy. Wifi was always fast and stable (we were streaming series). My personal favorite thing was the food served by the hostel. Breakfast is, as other comments mentioned, great! Fresh eggs and fruit. But you can also order food until 9pm, and not only was it a GREAT price, it was very tasty (the green curry chicken and rice...had it like 4 times). No mosquito bites in our 3 days at Hub of Joys!!

It's super easy to meet a lot of people here! The breakfast is great, and they have good dinner options as well! The dorms are clean, the beds have curtains, and you can rent a motorbike here.

I arrived with a bad cold and not feeling great, but I got even more sick (pneumonia) during my stay. I had a fever, was coughing my lungs out, and had a very bad cold. I booked a private room somewhere else because of that, but I wasn't allowed to stay one more hour in my dorm until I was picked up by the taxi. I understand that my bed needs to be cleaned, but I was obviously doing very bad, and she didn't really seem to care

The location was good - Phrae Ae beach is nicer than long beach (in my opinion). The breakfast and free popcorn was also a welcome addition!

The mattresses were really hard and made my hips hurt and I didn’t like the fact the air con went off between 10am and 4pm. This is the hottest point in the day and there was no where to cool down. This made me feel uncomfortable and not being able to get any respite. A better time to turn off the air con would be between 6am - 12pm when the rooms are cool and peoples body temperatures are lower from sleeping etc.
