Hotel setting and surroundings are beautiful and the design/layout is very relaxing. The villa's are very well equipped and an oasis of calm if you just want to relax in your room. Staff are incredibly attentive and helpful. Genuinely looking to improve your stay. We had an issue one morning caused by the hotel but the manager found us later on and apologised and sorted everything out, including some complimentary items - he completely defused the issue. The retention rates for staff is very high at the hotel and it's clear the staff enjoy working there. Food was really very good. Three varied restaurants with very good food. The Treehouse (Japanese) was excellent, but book in advance. The hotel may seem pricey at the outset but it's worth it. There is a reason why there are virtually no bad reviews.

It was disappointing that the Tennis courts were unavailable due to refurbishment but we used the Marriott's court which was next to the hotel. The hotel could do with some extra facilities for children, table tennis, table football - that kind of thing.

The atmosphere was perfect

There is no food variety you have 3 options in the main restaurant area. Western dishes are not in the menu, but they serve burgers and pizza. However, this needs improvement. The sea food restaurant is not up to the mark at all and was a waste of money. Mosquitos are everywhere despite spraying every now and then, still we got bites. I understand the situation, but they should look up for some solutions to improve the situation.

the resort is very tranquil and the villa we stayed is really outstanding. Bed is super comfortable, room cleanliness by the housekeeping is outstanding.

the choice of food for breakfast is ok, as we are a Muslim couple, we feel there is too many pork base product for breakfast that we can’t have. But we survived.

Great facilities and staff. Price in the restaurants are a bit high, but still ok. Breakfast was great! We had a little mosquito invasion but that can’t be helped.

Everyone and everything. Enjoyed doing a cooking class and market trip with chef Ton. The spa is excellent.

Everything...from the cold towel with lemongrass scent we have been given and the nice cold herb drink given...to the hospitality through the whole staying...magnificient...ohh also the location...everything 5min walking distance from pharmacy to big supermarkets

i was touched by the exceptional service. i have stayed in hundreds of hotels, and i never experienced in my life such outstanding service before Mai Khao’s Anantara. i was actually shocked by the lady working in the reception: her genuine consideration was palpable. she offered to call the airport and ask about our check in, which is so sweet of her considering we didn’t speak the language. she even asked if we would like to have a taxi booked for us in the morning, because they are hard to come by in such an early hour. AND she was more than happy to offer us a prepackaged breakfast since we were going to miss it. i doubt i will ever experience such a lovely host like her again. many, many hotels have got to learn how to bring back such service.

An amazing relaxing experience. Facilities and Service in all areas were second to none. Dining options were first class and quality and range of food was excellent.

Absolutely nothing - it was an amazing week!

1- check-in was smooth and albeit i reached earlier than the usual check-in time they had my room ready which was amazing after a long flight 2- one of the best house keeping quality and service i witnessed through my many travels 3- the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and were attending to any issue or request extremely promptly

1- not the hotel fault but its a bit far from the main attractions south of the island (around an hour away by taxi) 2- a bit too crowded over breakfast regardless of the time

The villa and the whole property was too good and very self sufficient. They had everything right from bicycles at no extra cost to roam around the property to kids play area to keep the kids engaged. The property was lush green and very well maintained. The staff was exceptionally good, kind caring and cooperative. The restaurant and the restaurant staff was also very good and helped you a lot with good customisation. It was a very good experience
