I travel a lot, and this hotel was truly one of the best I've experienced! It was my first time in Istanbul, and thanks to this hotel and its amazing staff, my visit was absolutely incredible! The hotel's location is perfect, offering everything you need within reach. There are charming spots with picturesque views for breakfast, dinner, or simply taking photos. You can easily visit the Grand Bazaar, the hamam, and the Blue Mosque on foot, and the tram station is less than a 5-minute walk away. Upon entering, you're greeted by a beautifully elegant hotel lobby and the friendliest staff at the reception that you could ever hope to meet. The room was impeccably clean, had a refreshing scent, and was clearly recently renovated. The view from my room was absolutely stunning! I particularly appreciated the gesture of providing a large bottle of water daily. It's a small touch, but it shows their concern for the well-being of their guests, ensuring they stay hydrated. It was a thoughtful touch. As a light sleeper, I can confidently say that the room was remarkably quiet, allowing me to sleep soundly throughout my stay. Now, the breakfast was a true delight. They offered a wide variety of Turkish cheeses, an assortment of jams, cakes, biscuits, dips, and more. It was a breakfast dream come true! However, I've saved the best for last. While you can find hotels with great rooms and views, what truly made my stay exceptional was the hotel staff. They went above and beyond to assist me, especially since it was my first time in Istanbul. They provided invaluable recommendations, guided me on getting around the city, and showed exceptional hospitality. Their warmth and welcoming nature made me feel like I was at home. To top it off, they even celebrated my birthday, which moved me to tears and left me with a heartwarming feeling I will never forget. Gokhan, Aykut, Kenan, and Mehmet were the epitome of exceptional hotel staff.

The location was good, close enough to walk to some of the most famous sights in Istanbul, which if pressed for time, might make up for the price. The breakfast was acceptable (albeit with limited fruit and vegetable options).

The hotel was okay but it felt a bit too expensive for what it was. We were not expecting a huge room, but it still felt smaller than in the pictures (and no view). ALso, the location. It was soo close to everything popular, that taxis would often want to scam you or cancel trips if you did not accept their quadrupled fees.

The location is excellent. The staff are friendly, helpful and super nice. The water pressure and temperature control was awesome. The breakfast was also superb...

No car parking. Although, I asked for a room with a nice view and they responded to me politically through email, what I got at the end of the day was a room at the second floor with a miserable view of ACs and back view of other buildings.

Newly rebuild property in the old town, few minutes straight walk from the historic part and conveniently close to public transport stops for both of the airports. Very easy to find, signage is visible right off the main street with a tram line. Kudos to the architect and interior designers team: whole property had been modelled in a sober Nordic/European style (no gilded kitsch so usual for the region). Price offer (= low season) was simply unbeatable, which was probably an aberration, so don’t count on that. What will likely stay is the team at the reception - who all were very helpful, sincerely friendly and even endeavoured to show me what’s around. Top marks, keep on the great job.

All good, though my room was a bit UK-size. in my case that isn’t a problem, and the property has large rooms on offer, too. Just keep that in mind.

This hotel is situated in the heart of Istanbul, just few walks from Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. The breakfast is great - full of different dishes. The staff is very professional and always helpful.

We wish there was the terrace with a view for Bosphorus, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque open as it had been before the renovation. We were in this hotel four times and we are sure that the terrace was one of the best value this hotel has got.

Our first stay in Istanbul and the location was perfect - close to all the major attractions. Room was clean and comfortable. Handy having breakfast included so we could just set off sightseeing. Staff all very polite and friendly.

No complaints at all about the hotel or staff. However the policy of insisting extras such as taxis and tour guides be paid in cash, we did not appreciate, nor understand. Like most travellers we had travel cards yet were forced to go to an ATM to get cash. Cash withdrawals incurred large, and, in my opinion, unnecessary fees. I queried the reason for the policy with reception and did not find the explanation satisfactory. This is not something we encountered anywhere else. If it's a system shortcoming then it needs amending.

The location is perfect for visiting the top touristy sites. Sultanahmet tram stop is just three minutes walk away. We booked the terrace with sea view and was given the top floor Room 502, with spectacular view of Blue mosque, Hagia Sophia right in front and the Bosphorus and the Asia side in the far horizon. Room 501 has similar view.

Small room and compact bathroom and small bed.

Location very close to several tourist sites. Recently renewed, comfortable bed. Friendly staff

The photo in Booking.com was misleading. It shows a bedroom with balcony facing the sea and our two rooms where interior facing a wall (green wall)

Clean, recently renovated, modern design and fittings. Spacious breakfast area with a very good selection. Very comfortable stay, right next to the tram.

The manager views guests as a source of commision first and a hotel guest second. He is a very smooth salesman when it comes to upselling the stay with tours, mobile packages, taxi bookings, and restaurant reccomendations. If it’s convenience you’re after this is great, but know you can get everything he offers for 20-30% less if you’re willing to do your own searching (for example, he assured me 300 lira is the best rate I’ll find for a tourist 15GB mobile data and sim package, the electronics shop next door charged 250 lira, and I went to Turkcell and got a 20GB bundle for 230 lira)

Hotel Nena is a wonderful place to stay as a solo traveler or as a pair. Hotel rooms in the city tend to be small and designs a bit outdated, but Hotel Nena was recently renovated, so it feels modern, airy, and clean within the space limits. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is great with both a rainhead and handheld option. The breakfast area is absolutely beautiful with its glass ceilings and if you get a room with a view of the sea, the Blue Mosque, and the Hagia Sophia, it is a stunning sight both in the day and night. Hotel Nena's location is ideal if you plan on touring the Sultanahmet area, especially during the summer, since it is just a short walk away from major sightseeing points, including Topkapı Palace, Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and the ports. It is also right across the street from where they have the Whirling Dervish shows in the city center. If you need anything, ask, and you will receive! You will be offered tea or coffee by the front desk whether you're checking in early or coming in late, and you don't have to worry about buying tons of bottled water as it is provided as compliments of the hotel. You can also get very good local recommendations for sightseeing and food, especially from Gokhan, if you have the good fortune to find him at the front desk during your stay. If you want to practice your Turkish, you can be sure to have a fun conversation with any of the hotel staff--special shoutout to Aykut! The hotel also has a luggage storage room if you need a place to keep your things before or after checkout. You will also find it very easy to communicate with the hotel before, during, and after your stay through WhatsApp. Turkish hospitality is not lacking at Hotel Nena and all your needs will surely be met to the best of their ability.

A few minor things that some might find inconvenient (but are not unique to this hotel) are that the hallways are not air conditioned, the street in front of the hotel is very narrow and makes pick up/drop off a bit rushed at times, and the bathroom in the standard room is small and designed so that you have to close the door to access the toilet and towels. Note that the mini bars in the room are smaller than your average American ones and are not very cold or temperature adjustable, although they will keep drinks cool. I'm sure if you have something you need to keep very cold/frozen, the hotel staff will help you.
