Great hotel! Very cozy and amazing staff. The breakfast was pretty good too with lots of options. The bed is comfy and the AC is clutch in the summer heat.

The distance to the blue mousque and the Hagia Sophia is not that much but Saruhan is at sea level, so going anywhere to where the attractions are you have to climb a whole hill. That is a picky comment but good to know when booking.

Our room had everything one could need: enough place for things, reading lights, slippers, chair in the balcony, thick curtains, vanity with chair, furniture with local character. The view was even better then in pictures - whole 180° to the city and the sea full of ships. Greate for the sunrise. A big street is nearby, but the sound isolation in the room is really good. We had access to the breakfast room 'till midnight. Here we could make tea and coffee. It also has big terrace which is accessable. Breakfast was copious and various, with changes every morning (we stayed 5 days), local and international food, and also hot things. You could make yourself real turkish breakfast. The stuff was helpful and cheerful. Hotel is really cozy, in an old building (but with an elevator!) on quiet, clean and cute street next to a well kept park. A lot of nice restaurants around, small convenient stores and even a stand with local fish sandwiches. Really good place for a hotel (far from a lot of hotels in the neighborhood which aren't so lucky). 10 min walk from Hippodrome and the same to public transport (uphill). Warning about seagulls is serious!

Nothing.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Saruhan Hotel during my vacation, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped into the lobby to the time of my departure, every aspect of this hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel staff's warm hospitality and attentiveness were exemplary. From the friendly front desk personnel to the helpful housekeeping team, everyone made me feel like a valued guest. They were always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests, making my stay truly enjoyable

Breakfast was a cozy, intimate buffet. With just enough items to satiate one's appetite, it didn't go overboard. Toast, 3 varieties of cereal, sausages, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs plus sweet pastries made it an ample spread. There was also a wide selection of fruit, teas, filter coffee, milk, juice and even chocolate nesquick for kids. The lady who runs the buffet service is wonderful too. What makes this memorable is the location- the open terrace on the 4th floor which offers a stunning view of the Aegeus Sea and the squaking of the seagulls.

There's no complimentary water in the rooms. We have to buy bottles of water either from them or the mini market down the road. Water in the room is a basic amenity, is it not?

Staff were helpful, the security was exceptionally good: I normally feel worried about my young daughters staying in a separate room, but at Saruhan Hotel I felt safe and slept peacefully knowing there were CCTV cameras in all the hallways, lobby areas, at the terrace and staff available 24hr checking the cameras at the reception. If you call No.0 on the room telephone you can call reception directly if you have any issues and they pick up instantly. The reception staff speak a few languages, it was very helpful for them to be fluent in English as well. The cleaning staff were very friendly, the rooms were cleaned well. We felt comfortable leaving our passports and valuable jewellery when we went out and staff cleaned. Very trustworthy staff and easy to talk to despite language barrier. Saruhan was a piece of paradise, so close to all the sites yet so peaceful. It overlooks the Bosphorus and a beautiful park with a fountain on one side of hotel and a beautiful view of the courtyard and balconies on the other side: the views from all angles of the the hotel were beautiful. In fact we could see the Bosphorus and the Blue mosque from the terrace. The lady in charge of the buffet breakfast was very friendly and helpful, made us feel at home. When the omlet/salad/fruits/water was finished she restocks it and comes to the table or with her frying pan to make sure you get your share. Such a lovely woman, she made breakfast a treat. There is a wide range of food: different cereals, scrambled eggs/boiled eggs, sausages, yogurt, deserts (turkish delight, home made cakes/cupcake etc). If you are intending to have a long stay here, the breakfast menu changes ever so slightly so you won't be bored of the same food. During the day (up until late in the night) we had access to the rooftop terrace, tea, coffee and water was available which made eating takeaways on evenings easier, a very enjoyable view and vibe on the terrace in the evenings.

The WiFi was unreliable. Throughout the day we had to call the reception staff multiple times because the WiFi connection was poor or unavailable. However, I must say they were very quick to respond every time and within 5 minutes the wiifi would be back. Very good efficient reception service regading WiFi issues. Tip for those who have WiFi issues: you can also connect to the neighbouring hotel which has better WiFi. This wasn't a major concern for us because we were out all day.:)

1) Perfect location, very close to the historical center + nice small park opposite the hotel 2) Breakfast was varied and served on the terrace on the roof with a beautiful view 3) Staff was polite and very friendly

1) There is no door at the shower cabin 2) Uncomfortable threshold on the floor inside the room 3) Our windows were close to the buildings around the hotel, so you can see whats happening inside (we saw a naked man once) and vice versa, but this is about density at this area, not a hotel mistake

Saruhan is located in the more "turistic" area of Istanbul. This comes hand to hand with a short distance to most monuments (10min walk, a little bit of hiking) but also with a lot more expensive shops-resturants than from the upper side. Stay here, eat elsewhere. The hotel was really nice, warm (we went on Dec), the breakfast was really good with all the excellent ladies taking really good care of us, and super clean. Super good value for its money. Thank you Saruhan Hotel!!

The soundproofing was not so great.

Everything about this hotel was beyond perfect. It is within walking distance of most attractions. The room was amazing. It had a sea view. The breakfast was more than enough, the woman in the kitchen was nice warm and hospitable, very polite. The internet connection was excellent, we never had a problem. They allowed us to store our luggage with them after we vacated the room. I hope there are more hotels like this one. My rating is an excellent 6+

There is nothing we did not like, only we caught a lot of rainy weather. :)

Mr. Farahuddin was very helpful in the reservation process, and was patient with our many requests and modifications. The staff - specially the guy in the noon shift - are decent and very helpful. They helped us on many occasions (the guy in the night shift doesn't speak English!). The rooms are clean and well equipped. The breakfast is OK and the lady preparing it is nice. The view from the breakfast terrace is very beautiful, but be aware of the seagulls! They might snatch food from your table if you're not paying attention.

Some of the rooms are really small for a family of 4. The location is in a lively area full of attractions (Fatih / Golden Horn / Sultan Ahmed) but it's not suitable for elderly or non-athletic people as the streets around it is very steep and you need 10 minutes minimum to walk to Sultan Ahmed square. Also it's far from tram and underground metro stations, and these are the main means of transportation in Istanbul.

We had 7 nights stay in Saruhan Hotel which is next to kucuk Aya Sofia Cami and within 12 mins to Blue mosque and Hagia Sofia. All staff members are very friendly. Its a family run hotel. From the management to reception staff to the cleaner and the chef all were super friendly and welcoming. Our stay was made more comfortable by the services and guidance provided. A big thanks to Farahuddin, Ibrahim and the lady chef whose name we forgot to ask 🤪. Any tour organisation to arranging pick and drop you will get all sort of assistance, you just have to ask for it. We will rate them 10 for every single aspect.
