We absolutely loved our stay at the Blue Boar. It is a wonderfully old, historic building and very cosy. It was an easy distance to Stratford, where we were going for the evening. Our first evening we were there, we dined in the restaurant and the food was excellent. All the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Breakfast was good, but feel it may help to have a menu on the table (even just a laminated sheet with what is on offer). Other than pastries and cereal, it is just a full English and as I don't eat tomatoes or beans, it looked a bit paltry. The filter coffee on offer at breakfast was very weak and not very hot.

Fabulous staff in attendance throughout our short stay. They really made our stay lovely and even created a new vegetarian curry for my friend on the second evening after she mentioned the night before her veggie burger didn’t taste very nice. The restaurant food (especially the Indian cuisine) was excellent! Breakfast was pleasant with freshly prepared eggs, bacon, sausage etc and free flowing coffee/tea. Plenty of parking outside and no traffic noise heard from our room.

There could have been more places to put things on to in our room. No bedside table by the single bed, only a chair. And one tiny shelf in the bathroom. The beds were a little hard and there was no mattress protector on one of the beds (possibly forgotten). The door was extremely squeaky on opening and closing it.

We needed a twin room. As things turned out we were allocated a suite with two bedrooms. A double and a twin combined. Very very useful. Would have been great for a family. Was perfect for us. The food was excellent and served very quickly even though they were very busy. Staff helpful and pleasant.

We couldn't get through a locked door when trying to leave on the Saturday morning. We had to work out how to get out via a fire escape. This was difficult for my husband who has limited walking abilities.

Very friendly staff, we had a lovely evening meal and a good breakfast. Room was very clean, comfy bed and we had a very good night' sleep. Excellent location in the countryside for visiting Stratford, Warwick and there are some lovely national trust properties worth visiting in the area.

Not a complaint but a suggestion, maybe a menu of what's on offer for breakfast as we were just asked if we wanted a full English. There were some cereals and fruit juice that you could help yourselves to.

Beautiful building and surroundings. lovely decorations and a nice warm, cosy, clean room. The breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and attentive.

There was some obvious work being carried out in some of the rooms and so yes, our room did need a new carpet as the stairs upto the room which I’m sure will be done soon. The hot water tap was very very hot! and the bathroom a little dated. However the space having the two separate rooms was great! two TV’s and lovely comfortable beds, fresh linen and lovely pillows and nice fluffy towels made up for it. At breakfast I felt like I was up and down to get things, sugar, juice, salt, sauce etc, it would be much better to have these things on the table. The breakfast itself was lovely. Prices at the bar a little steep but was expected re location. Would stay again :)

Room was really spacious, we booked a double but got more like a family room. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was modern and clean. Furnishings were good quality, tea and coffee tray good and plenty of water. Breakfast was very quick and had great quality ingredients. Eggs cooked perfectly. Staff were so nice, there was some confusion over our booking I think but they rectified whatever the issue was very quickly. They let us take a bottle of wine up in an ice bucket after we had eaten down stairs. All were so polite and couldn't do enough for us.

Location was great for being able to visit various places in the area. Staff very friendly and really helpful. Facilities and cleanliness generally very good.

Rooms could with air-con as they get very warm on a summers night. Couldn't open the window fully as we were facing the road with traffic going past at various times. Cleanliness generally OK, although an empty cup and few other items left under the bed by previous visitors which had not been cleaned.

The pub was lovely, beautiful outside too. Lovely beer garden and good sized car park with electric hook up bays. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was good. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

We weren't asked about any preference for breakfast (as in fried, poached or scrambled eggs) and the toast was bog standard bread, I thought they may have had a local bakery loaf.

The helpfulness of the staff and the location I also enjoyed the food , very tasty . I think they must be fortunate to have a very good in house chef .

Unfortunately there had been some breakdown in communication in the booking system. My friend had been very ill and had mobility difficulties . The Blue Boar aware and had written saying they were booking the downstairs disabled room for her . When I arrived this room had already been given to some other people ( I don’t think disabled ) . No fault of staff , it had been allocated to other people on the booking system . Fortunately my friend a bit stronger and was able to manage the stairs but it could have been disastrous! Staff were brilliant and did as much as possible to make things as easy as possible for her stay . Couldn’t fault them .

The Blue Boar was lovely , staff very friendly , evening meal was fabulous . Room was a good size and very clean . Situation was close to Stratford .

Unfortunately there was a party in the bar and also outside and the music went on until nearly 1am which disturbed us . Our room also overlooked the smoking area which was noisy . I would like to return but I think a room at the rear of hotel would be quieter.
