The location is lovely, right in the heart of Souldern which is a very pretty village. Johnny and Paul are lovely, very friendly and Paul is an exceptional chef. Nothing was too much trouble for Johnny, he was always ready to help or make sure that we had everything we wanted. It was my birthday when we were there and I got birthday balloons and party poppers at breakfast time! I like the aim of reducing waste in the pub.

I have a small appetite so smaller options on main meals would have been nice, and I would have liked cereals for breakfast rather than a cooked breakfast, although I understand that much of this wasn’t used and so had to be thrown away so they are reducing waste by not offering it, and the grilled tomatoes on toast were delicious.

We have a lovely last minute overnight stay in the Fox Inn, nestled in beautiful “Cotswold borders”!village of Souldern. Johnny was a great host. He met us on arrival and showed us to our room. Later he chatted with us about the surrounding area. The room was advertised as bijou and budget. It was perfect for us. It was spotlessly clean with a quirky cottage-yet-stylish look. The bed was made with smooth cotton sheets and was very comfortable. We had both dinner and breakfast in the pub. The food was excellent. All home made by Paul, the words on the menu just didn’t do it justice. Simple meals really well made. We had a lovely stay and hope to return soon.

The room was booked as a budget room. It was comfortable quirky and had all you needed. The bar are had been modernised but was done well with good areas. to eat and drink. A good choice of beers and wines. The menu had a good choice, the food was fresh, tasty and service good. Johnny the owner/barman etc. Was very helpful and we were well looked after.

Nothing, maybe a bit off the beaten track but that adds to it's charm

Staff were friendly. Breakfast was reasonably-priced and tasty. Parking is limited to 4-5 cars but is free. I didn't have any problems parking. Room was clean. It's an old building so the floors are quite creaky.

The bed was quite creaky too and could probably do with being replaced. I slept well though.

Our stay was made by Johnny behind the bar. So welcoming and accommodating. And the bar is so cute ! Its tiny. Evening meal was spot on. Good wine and decent beer. Breakfast was lovely although no beans ? Husband assures me beans with breakfast are very much a 'Northern' thing !

There was nothing to dislike. Book with confidence but be quick, as only 4 rooms, which added to the quaintness of it all.

Fantastic country hotel option. Jonny was awesome, food was fantastic, beers were cold and poured with love. Room was simple but fine, shower hot with decent pressure (once I had worked out how to use it) and I would definitely recommend/stay again.

Simple, clean functional country style accommodation. Nothing I didn't like but if your expectations aren't realistic then you may be disappointed and need to look for something different.

This pub and it’s owner made our stay a very welcoming and friendly experience. The food was excellent. Myself and my friend had booked a parachute jump in the area and decided to extend our stay at the Fox Inn by an extra night. Great location to visit the beautiful countryside.

The Fox Inn is a little gem! We would certainly stay there again. The village location is stunning. The Fox Inn itself is charming. The breakfast was amazing, as was the food from the bar/restaurant. The staff are welcoming, friendly and chatty.

Minor quibble. The room was a little small and too warm overnight. The latter due to the hot weather which is out of their control! We didn't really expect aircon. Some updating of facilities may be necessary but what the Fox Inn lacks in this respect it more than makes up for in others (see above).

Shower a bit dodgy. No door on the ensuite which was a novelty ! Saying that, it's an old pub so it's quirky.

Lovely old pub in a beautiful village. Quiet location. Staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable.

The plumbing in our shower room was playing up but the staff could not have done more to address the issue. They have only been there for a few months and have upgrades planned. Their approach meant we felt very cared for.
