very nicely renovated property. nice large courtyard which would be nice to sit outside in when the weather allows. nice country building feel to it. Staff were very attentive and the breakfast was excellent.

nothing as such but even though the heating didn’t seem to work it was very warm in the room even for autumn and to be rather nip picky the coffee machine didn’t work as previous guests had obviously discovered going by the used pods left behind but that is being very fastidious. would be an idea to erect a mirror for the gate exit as it is very blind driving out off the gateway especially when school is commencing.

Stayed in the Baldock room, which was very cosy. Comfortable bed and pretty quiet. Nice bathroom, large TV, good shower pressure. Breakfast was very good and served quickly. The whole building has been very tastefully restored.

Overall the room was lovely. Not so much a complaint, but just a fact that our end of the lodgings has quite low ceilings, so you really need to watch your head. This may be most obvious in the shower in the Baldock room, where you may need to bend down. Only issue we found was the the water in the shower tray was rather slow to run away, this may be due to the high shower pressure or the trap needs unblocking, but it was a bit close to overflowing.

Loved the location and loved the quirkiness of it!

It completely shut down in the evening, we popped out and when we returned there was nobody there - we realised our room key served as the main entrance and our door key - we may have been told and overlooked this! Anyway just a small blip! Also no facilities while we were in the evening for food and drink. We were recommended the local pub which worked out fine for us

Comfortable, clean rooms, great facilities (coffee machine, parking, nice bath, good toiletries), easy check in, great VFM! No complaints.

Stayed in the Duff room and the doorways were comically short - I wiped myself out a few times coming in/out of the room and bathroom. Plenty of signage to warn you not to, and appreciate that these are the quirks of a period property so no complaints from me - just a warning for anyone above 5ft tall!

The team were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble, we received a warm welcome and felt so looked after. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. The facilities in and out of the room were fantastic. We were able to add our family for breakfast who'd had their hotel cancelled and had to stay elsewhere with no breakfast. The full english breakfast was really lovely and highly recommended. The whole place beautifully decorated, the room was gorgeous and had everything you needed including a hairdryer, lovely fluffy towels and white bathrobes, White Stuff toiletries to use, comfy bed, pillows a little soft but thats personal choice. Bed felt like it went up at the foot end but wasn't a bother. There was a fan in the room and a Nespresso coffee machine as well as a kettle, lamps, TV and complimentary water.. USB plugs were great and plenty of plugs around the room including each side of the bed. Grounds were neat and tidy and the place was spotless. Lovely cafe on site as well as a snug. We stayed in the Gill room

Parking was limited and after a long journey we had nowhere to park. Luckily we managed to move the car later. And nothing major but we couldnt turn the shower on which was a little worrying but after a call down to the team, we were told it was stiff and it was resolved. It would have helped to have a note about this so we knew but no big deal.

Comfortable room in main building, a quirky old coaching inn recently restored to a high standard. Each room is different, nothing is square and the combination is most engaging. We arrived after main hours and key was in keysafe. Breakfast very generous and nicely presented.

Steep stairs in main building might put off less sure-footed guests but easy-access rooms apparently available.

The quality of the cotton bedlinen and hypo-allergenic bedding was superb - I even stripped my bed to find out the who the manufacturers were! The property is over 500 years old and has an interesting history which is displayed chronologically on murals in one of the public tea rooms. The recent tasteful and high quality conversion has been sponsored by 'Heritage Lincolnshire' who saved the building in 2016 which explains the high quality of materials everywhere, like solid (not veneered) oak breakfast tables and the use of subtle paint colours. The staff were friendly, the Breakfast Menu was full of choice, the coffee was fresh and the cooked breakfast (with vegan options) was absolutely delicious... nice touches were how carefully the food was arranged on the plate and having brown toast served as the default without asking.

I found the self check-in a bit stressful, not being exactly sure how it would work until the day itself when I received details by email of how to access the property.

Convenient location. Excellent large comfortable bed, very up to date pleasing furnishings and tea/coffee making facilities. Individual parking outside own entrance. Plenty hot water for shower/ bath. and very clean. Close to pub or restaurant for evening meal.

Room too hot, no means of turning off radiator in bathroom which heated bedroom beyond comfortable level, and windows appeared to be locked shut.

The restoration of this historic building has been done very sympatheticly. A lovely setting. The bed was very comfortable as was the room. Breakfast was very nice. All areas very clean.

The door closers on many of the communal doors are set too strong, so are constantly banging shut, which is very annoying when in bed. Shame there isn't a bar or restaurant available after 4pm. No option on the towels being changed, therefore they changed them both mornings when no need, we didn't put them on the floor (not great for the environment).

Beautiful rooms, lovely big bathrooms, great showers, towels a lovely size and luxurious. Plenty of choice of Beveridges in the rooms and lovely biscuits. Breakfast was included and the full English was amazing, so was the sausage and bacon roll. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Anyone expecting a bar will be disappointed as there isn't one, but there is a pub over the road.
