I resevered my room and expected to arrive in the afternoon but having driven from Plymouth to Manchester back to Plymouth then up to Bridgwater the M6 especially made sure that didn't happen so i didn't get there till about 9pm. When I did actually arrive i was met at reception by a member of staff who should of finished her shift but she stayed late for the sole purpose of having someone there to welcome me which i thought was such a lovely thought and i thank her for that. At breakfast, again the staff were very nice and very helpful even going as far as to recommend things i could do with my 9 yr old son as that was my purpose for being in Somerset. Over all lovely staff comfy clean room and bed. Also they didn't rush me to book out the next morning either as so many hotels do. Thank you to all the staff and i would definitely stay there again

Parking could of been a problem with it being a town centre but i eventually got a space right outside after driving around a few times.

Warm welcome from receptionist. Appreciated early check in as room was ready Room small single as booked but super comfy bed super clean and bathroom and shower spacious Overlooking small courtyard. No road noise. Historic Tudor building Central location. Easy walk to all main sites. Bus station a few minutes walk across bridge. Train station easy flat 15 min walk Fast stable wifi so much better than some of the larger hotel chains Breakfast catered for vegans with cooked mushrooms tomatoes and a fresh fruit salad. Lovely ambience and so well looked after by young woman Much appreciated.

The stairs and upper narrow layout would be difficult for some folk but part of the character.

All I can say is if your staying in this area then you need to stay here. From the minute we checked in to our 3 rooms all of us were just impressed .the cleanliness was fantastic. staff were outstanding...Kim especially her lovely friendly manner is beyond words...from the second she engages with you she goes all out to serve the meals and drinks...always asking if she can do more...she many times made me coffee when I was just sat waiting .she never had to and i never expected it...it really shows the difference that this hotel has to many others...I could go on and on...I never got the lady's name on reception but she also was fantastic....loved this hotel by far the best place I ever stayed...please don't let the parking be an issue I stayed in local car parks a few mins away and it was very reasonable and a lot of the time you can park directly outside...just meet Kim and I'm sure you will also be more than impressed.....well done tudor hotel top marks all round...sorry forgot to say breakfast awesome full English really clean cooked no grease no issues just lovely tasty food...met the chef and yes you guessed he was a lovely chap...bye....

Nothing to say here

I was incredibly impressed with this hotel for the price I paid especially for a Saturday night! The car park they recommended is super close and was free after 6pm and all day Sunday so I didn't need to worry about getting up to move my car. The hotel was really nice and my room was extremely clean and very comfortable. The staff in particular went above and beyond in making sure the guests were happy, the night porter and the lady at breakfast were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They even let me check out slightly later as I hadn't arrived until midnight and was shattered. Would definitely stay again I think it was the best value hotel I've ever stayed in considering it included breakfast as well!

Amanda was a star! We couldn't have asked for anyone better to greet us or show us around the property. The staff were super friendly and helpful - which was really nice. Breakfast was great and included, which helped us sort our daily activities with increased ease. The location was central, so it was easy to scoot around town.

We did have some confusion around the radiator- when it was on and how to stop it from coming on at certain hours. Part of the heating seemed automated and the rest didn't. We don't have radiators where I'm from, so it was a bit confusing. However, we also didn't ask for clarification on how to use it - so that's on us. We would have loved to have that information included in the booklet in the hotel room.

The hotel receptionist, Amanda I believe to be her name, was excellent, very friendly and helpful. The food was first class including breakfast. The location cannot be beaten within a five minute walk to the town centre with adjacent bars and nearby pubs, restaurants.

I cannot say I “didn’t like” anything, it was more, it could have been better. The breakfast waitress, though very efficient and polite, seemed very busy on the restaurant side and I was not offered any bread or toast. The hotel has historical appeal, so expect to hear squeaky floorboards from the other rooms, particularly above, stairs and corridors. My particular room was above the restaurant/kitchen area so I could hear every door slammed, crockery and cutlery being washed or used, and, with the window open because of the sun shining in, the staff conversations. I woke up to this around 06:00 in the morning on the weekend of my stay. As with most hotels I stay in, there could have been more coffee and milk sachets too.

I really liked the building and the staff were great. Room was good and the breakfast very filling, with a good selection on offer. Ideal location for walking around Bridgwater and seeing the sites. Special thanks to Amanda and Kim, who really made me at home!!!

The bedroom blind was broken and needs a bit of tlc. Also, there seems to be a plastic bag full of something on the plastic roof. Didn't quite understand why room 5 was next to room 14. Had to keep on remembering that my room was next to 14, as 5 wasn't sign posted on the corridor signs.

It’s the hotel that just keeps on giving… the welcome from the staff was better than many 5* hotels we have visited. The food looked amazing, although we didn’t eat there. The service from the team at breakfast was personal, prompt and perfect. It was a great location, and easy to visit the local area from. Room was very comfortable, and we had a good sleep. Would highly recommend it.

Nothing. Having said that, guests should be aware (as pointed out on the website) that rooms towards the back of the hotel do require you to navigate a warren of stairs, but given that some parts date back to 1610 it’s more than acceptable. The company do own the bar next door, so do be aware that Ona Saturday night, and perhaps a Friday, there would be some noice up till about 11pm that permeates the walls… but not enough of an issue to change our opinion.

Friendly, family run Inn which they have owned for 70 years. The staff were exceptionally keen to please and genuinely wanted to look after their guests. The room/bathroom was very clean, the beds comfortable and everything was in good working order. It was a good sized room as well. We had an evening meal and breakfast, both were very good. Breakfast was fresh cooked and there were plenty of menu choices which was an added bonus.

It's a very old, historic building so there were a lot of stairs and uneven floors but that is to be expected.

an Interesting old building that has labyrinthine catacombs of corridors and staircases (the location of the room I booked was not ideal for guests with a glut of luggage or heavy bags but the friendly staff gave me assistance), the room I had breakfast in was not the standard breakfast room (as the hotel was having some celebrations for their 60th anniversary) but both rooms were comfortable and homely. The room I booked had no fridge (but I support that, not sure if other rooms have fridges or not but I expect this information is shown in the listings), the bed, chaise longe, window seat, and table and chairs were all attractive and comfortable and the whirlpool bath/shower was soothing, water was hot and the room was heated (I didn’t check to see if there was any way to modify room temperature), slept well, staff are friendly and helpful, would stay again, plan to stay again if I am ever in Bridgwater. Thank you.

Nothing, the issues with accessibility are linked to the age of the building, it seems to have been made more accessible than it was originally ally but I expect there are significant limitations to making it more accessible than it currently is without profoundly altering the structure of the building.
