Just absolutely amazing! Every member of staff was just lovely, it's obvious that everyone enjoys working there. We were made to feel so at home and so looked after. Jose taught our wee girl Spanish, Vivian taught her some Nigerian words. Hannah (wee Millie), Connor, Emma, Alim, Joe, Zakira, Claire, Zoe, and a special thanks to Katie! Everyone was just lovely! The pool was fantastic, food lovely. There is even a bug hotel in the garden. The hotel is ten minutes walk from Mickleover which is a lovely town with friendly people and some nice pubs, especially the Masons.

Some of the hotel is a bit dated, but the value and service totally outweighs this.

Lovely luxurious hotel with very comfy beds. Hair dyer provided along with tea / coffee making facilities. The kids loved the pool and you don’t need to bring your own towels! They sell goggles & pool accessories too. Food is served until 10.30pm which was great for us as we were late arriving. Free drink for everyone staying in the room if you don’t need your room serviced! Bar staff made me feel welcome as a single parent travelling with 2 children… nothing was too much to ask for. Reception were very accommodating when we needed extra bits for our room

Function music kept the kids awake on the first night but to be expected. Gym is only for over 16’s which is a shame as my 14 year old would have liked to use the facilities. Would have liked a mini fridge in the room but that’s being picky.

Staff friendly. Rooms clean. Room cleaned daily if you wanted it done. Iron and board in room. Plenty of tea, coffee etc.

Hotel was looking tired. Room had balcony but notice on window said you could not open it. What a shame could not sit outside. Around Swimming pool dirty. In particular, the stairs. Paint peeling off. Some families hogged the pool and were taking photos. Children were left alone and did not care that adults were swimming up and down. Should have had different sessions for families. Would have been nice to sit outside on loungers after swim. Saturday night. Not much choice in dining room for evening meal.

We were greeted warmly upon arrival, very friendly, helpful and informative. Easy to find our room and was lovely and clean with plenty of space for 3 women to share. Didnt have any trouble parking and was free! Location suited us well but we didnt know the area at all so i dont know how close trains or bus routes are. use of the spa and facilities were included in the price of our stay

Water pressure on our shower was about the only thing that was unimpressive. Also breakfast was not included so i couldn't comment on the food as we chose to eat out instead of incurring the extra costs. £10 pp

Room was a lot bigger than I expected, couldn't access the balcony but no biggie. Bed was comfortable, clean and had a bath which was nice. Air con was a nice plus. Staff were fantastic. The hotel itself was in need of a little TLC but it was due for maintance in weeks time. Breakfast was so good, and buffet style. Parking was different with a covered porch way in case of inclement weather, underground parking though I didn't use it. Above all a great hotel just outside of Derby and close to so much more.

Only quibble was the access to the hotel via a duel carriageway nothing else.

The signs which greet you throughout the car park are misleading. They clearly indicate that you must pay for parking on arrival to avoid a fine. This involves downloading an app or using a QR code and entering credit card details (they also try to get your email address and mobile number). Only when you are actually at the door to reception is there a tiny notice telling you that guests don't have to pay. Sure, they will reimburse you if you ask, but why not save all the hassle by making it clear at the time of booking or on the signs in the car park?

Staff were well mannered and always willing to help. Room was clean as was the hotel. Parking included. Easy access to main routes. Good bar and seating area. Nice terrace. Good restaurant/breakfast room.

Room was good but due to the proximity to major traffic routes there was some traffic noise. Perhaps triple glazing may help. External cooling unit was bit noisy. Breakfast was good, however, there should be more facilities for people with allergies such as plant based yoghurt. To many cigarette butts laying around the terrace to the rear of the dining area. Restaurant was a little pricey particularly side dishes. Swimming pool and sports facilities were good but perhaps there needs to be better facilities for disabled people.

The whole hotel was stunning, beautifully presented, with well dressed staff. The rooms were spacious and big for our little family. The breakfast selection was really good too.

The showers in the rooms need to be regulated more to prevent scolding, there had been a few moments when the water was at a very high temperature. Also, the amount of mirrors in the bathroom are not necessary. Especially for people who are already self-conscious with themselves. :( There was a lady in the breakfast area who looked like she did not want to be there. body language was poor as was her mannerism!

Friendly staff from the moment we arrived. The hotel is a lot better than it looks in everyway. The spa area is great and ideal to relax in, we stayed in there to long as the restaurant was closed when we got out! We had a bar meal which although was fairly pricey, was really good. The room was really good and comfortable, a lot better than expected. This was a stay before going to Alton Towers which is 30 mins away, will be staying here again when we return.

Could have stayed longer!

The room was absolutely great, big and very comfortable. The air con in the room worked too. The staff were brilliant and extremely helpful. One member of staff in particular stood out to us as being very friendly, polite, helpful and approachable was Zakira on reception who went above and beyond to help and make our stay perfect. 10/10

The only thing that we didn't like was the steps to the pool, spa, gym etc. Not great for guests with disabilities like ourselves.
