We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. We had large room with a large and comfortable bed and a bath in our en-suite, which I like. It was good to have a relax in the spa after an active day, although the pool was too small for a proper "swim". We waited a while for our food in the restaurant (Saturday) but both enjoyed our meals. The bar was a comfortable place to watch sport on TV. This was the best value hotel of our trip and we'd stay here again.

Swimming pool was smaller than I expected. We were very happy to eat in the hotel restaurant. For those wanting more choice, the hotel is more than 4 miles from the centre of Dundee (so not within walking distance).

The room was a good size and clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. I loved the spa, what a treat! The spa has a pool, steam room and sauna and the facilites were clean and pleasant. It was nice to get a bit of pampering in, and this is the main reason I will stay at this hotel again.

I was grateful for the reviews that pointed out how inaccurate the photos were, it managed my expectations so that I wasn't disappointed upon arrival. The rooms are in an ugly annexe, not the stately home, but the rooms themselves are nice - about the same standard as a Premier Inn. The bar and restaurant had a limited menu and the overall feel was shabby. It smelled of old grease and a few of the mismatched chairs were threadbare. The basic vibe here is 'faded grandeur' but for the low price I paid, I thought the hotel was excellent value. The staff were lovely and I will definitely stay there again for a bit more pampering at the spa.

Unfortunately I arrived late so didn't get to use the facilities. However in my short time there, the staff are helpful the room was incredibly comfortable the bed and pillows were amongst the best I've stayed in. However, I made a point to phone the hotel As I left a personal item in the room which was valuable to me but not valuable as an item. I was desperate to get this back and I spoke to a lady called Kelsey. She spoke to me several times , probably more than I expected to ensure that I've got the item back safe and sound. Many people think this is normal practice but in my experience you don't always get such good service with things like this. I would like To stress my thanks to Kelsey 🙏 and I called the hotel to ask that she be mentioned in any team meetings or complementary issues from customers. Willl definitely stay here again, for me staff is more important than a room, although this was good in both areas and was extremely good value and a great location for Dundee City

Staff were helpful and friendly, the setting is lovely and the food was excellent. The room was very large and clean.

The pillows in the room were too soft, which made it difficult to sleep. The restaurant is a bit of a puzzle, some days the dining room is used, with a full menu, the next day it is closed and service is in the bar with a reduced menu or you might get a full menu. Unless you are down early for breakfast, it gets busy and food and plates become reduced very quickly. The coffee machines are very temperamental, and at times there are not enough staff on to clear the tables.

The cost was excellent value for money and the location was excellent car park spacious the entrance is clean and presentable reception was extremely helpful and a lovely young lady The bar was extremely presentable very clean area although a little pricey as you expect from a hotel The staff we're some of the nicest people I have met and the young lady that night helped me with my food order and drink selection with a very nice chap who brought it out etc was warm and welcoming at all times My room was very nice very comfortable very very well presented I really enjoyed it although I do believe it's the little things that matters perhaps a little more coffee sugar tea milk and perhaps hot chocolate as it's a very cold place Dundee

Absolutely nothing the place is remarkable

The location is excellent - close to Dundee but easy to access from the highway. Free convenient parking. The property is well-maintained and clean, and the rooms are comfortable and well-furnished. Housekeeping staff very adaptable around some of our late morning starts. There was a comfy lounge where we could just sit and relax with a book and a beer. The restaurant food was good.

A very few minor quibbles. There was an ATM but it was out of service the entire time (maybe no one uses cash any more?). There were not enough staff in the restaurant so service was very slow. (Not the fault of the staff - they were working hard!). In one case we gave up on dessert and coffee because we had been waiting so long. The laundry service was also very irregular - it's outsourced and takes a day or two to come back, with no service on the weekends, so if you wanted clean clothes for Monday you had to turn them in the Wednesday before.

Loved the style of the hotel and the size of the room. Breakfast was one the best we have ever had. Such a good choice and evening meal was lovely. Pool was lovely and great facilities to have on hand. 100% will stay again and recommend it highly to others, especially for the value as well as the facilities

Overall, there is not much just little TLC in some areas like the sofa, and bathrooms need little silicone but don't affect the stay at all. Restaurant was a great enough choice but no salmon or macaroni for kids again. There was no huge deal but things you would expect to have.

Breakfast & dinner was very good. Room was clean, had a good shower and general facilities (kettle, complementary coffee, etc).

Travelling on business, I require VAT receipts for all purchases. Was told after ordering dinner that I would have to ask for my dinner receipt from the restaurant staff in the morning. The following morning I was told that I would not be able to be given a receipt as it was now too late. However 3 days later I was contacted by the hotel, asked to provide details and received a receipt. Just felt as if I was been "fobbed-off" by the staff during my stay....

The staff are the real asset in this hotel. They are pkeasant, helpful, efficient and very hardworking. The pool area is nice. My room was fine - perfectly clean and comfortable.

Some areas are a little tired. The bar area is cosy but some of the fabric armchairs are tatty. The furniture in this area, generally, needs updating. The restaurant furniture is better but noisy air conditioning and harsh lighting spoil the atmosphere somewhat. My room was rather warm, even with the heating off and window open a little.

The staff were really friendly the room was very spacious indeed.

After 12hrs on the road, I was looking forward to getting checked in and a bite to eat and then relax....but the restaurant shut at 8:30pm! The cost of drinks at the bar are high!!....and the lack of gas meant no drinks on tap eventually. Poor planning! Breakfast was a bit bland/basic considering the cost. We found an unflushed stool in the toilet on arrival, the heating wouldn't work and neither did the room phone - however the team did give us an extra hour before checkout which we were grateful for.
