The location is ideal for a night out. A good size room. Comfy bed. The breakfast was lovely. The waitresses were helpful with my dietary requests. Chef provided a great meal. Best scrambled eggs ever.

It is not the hotels fault. It's an old building which is evident. Local conservation regulations will prevent a complete revamp. Which is a shame. Old sliding sash windows don't keep a freezing winter wind out. Unfortunately, if you are looking for a modern style hotel. This is not the place for you. However, if you love traditional style. This will suit you to the ground.

The location was perfect. Kim on reception is an absolute credit to the company. She was friendly, efficient and had a wealth of local knowledge as did the lovely girl serving breakfast the next morning. All the staff were amazing and our overall stay was lovely. We'd come to Dundee for a friend's wedding so the location couldn't be better. Our room overlooked the Tay and wow, what a view. The hotel itself although old and a wee bit worn in parts, added charm to a very comfortable stay. Would highly recommend. 11\10 for location, wonderful staff and fantastic breakfast. Will definitely return.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even upgraded me to the bridal "suite" which was definitely not a suite as it was only one room and was not particularly special. They also kept my luggage until check in and after check out. It was a good location for accessing all of the attractions and points of interest.

The hotel has seen better days in terms of decor. The windows didn't close properly. The layout of the room could have been better. e.g. the TV was in the wrong place.

I found the staff extremely helpful, I showed up before my room was ready but the lady on reception kindly said she could keep my suitcase until I came back to check in later to save me lugging it around. Room was bigger than I expected it to be, facilities were extremely comfortable and I got a very good night's sleep before I headed home to Glasgow the following day. Shower was easy to work and get to the correct temp for my liking. Would definitely recommend this hotel for others too!

Nothing to make any complaints about, had a fantastic stay

Perfect location, old world charme. I loved staying there and had a great view down Nethergate to the city centre. I remember that I’ve walked past it as a student, always thinking that I’d stay there when I get old and can afford it and I visit Dundee again. Many memories came up as we once had a Christmas dinner and Cailidh there when I was a student over 20 years ago.

Nothing really. Would have been great though if the bar had been open for a drink before turning in. But they are renovating, so should be remedied soon.

Loved the homily feel...and the friendly staff. Breakfast was great...lots of options and the staff were so helpful and welcoming .. Location is great..specially if you want to be close to the science museum for a family trip and have a night over...

The beds were so uncomfortable. I had to share a bed with 2 small children...there was 2 mattress on what we thought was a large bed..very uncomfortable sleeping on the middle of these ... this put me off booking here again for only that reason

My stay here was fabulous as a 62yo F solo traveller. Everything you need is within walking distance. Spoiled for choice with great cafes, restaurants and shopping options all within a leisurely stroll. Staff were charming and extremely friendly. Room size, facilities, cleanliness, free parking, comfort of beds exceptional.

Only food available at the hotel was breakfast. No lunch, dinner or bar atmosphere.

Room had lovely view towards the Tay and Rail Bridge, Spacious Room with good facilities. Lift available bonus in old hotel and there is ample parking free which is rare in the middle of Dundee, definitely a bonus. In great place to visit all Dundee attractions and the center of the town.

As hotel kitchen undergoing refit no dining options. Also window are old and rattle in the wind, but reflects the age of the building.

breakfast was fantastic, great staff made me feel welcome. very friendly. great location and easy to get into centre of Dundee. close to eateries and pubs. near to local transport . clean hotel and packed full of character

arguing next door neighbours in the early hours of the morning - although that was not the hotels fault. seagull noisy in the morning although that too the hotel could not help. being close to river they were there.

Perfect central location. Very clean and comfortable,,loved powerful shower. Staff very friendly, helpful and accomodating - couldn't have done more for us. Chef was out in dining area chatting and ensuring we were fully catered for. Kim on front desk was incredibly helpful and cheery.

Didn't realise nightclub/pub right next door which was a bit noisey, but did not effect my stay - we were all young once eh!
