Matress and pillows were very comfortable. Room was clean. Many different hot options for breakfast. If you have a ground floor room you can see some lovely rabbits around so it is quite cute. Food from the restaurant was amazing and big portions. Room was a bit boring without any kind of decoration but it was pleasantly big and there was a clean, modern bathroom.

Not enough fresh pastries for breakfast unfortunately. Room was noisy, definitely not soundproof. The location is a bit in the middle of nowhere, not close to the town and not close enough to the college where I needed to go. Unfortunately, at the middle of my stay the hotel closed down for unknown reasons so I had do move elsewhere. Refund was given but not compensation of any kind for the inconvenience. Unsure when it will open again.

This was my second time staying at this hotel, en route from Germany back to Ireland. Like last year, I again needed overnight accommodation not too far from the Eurotunnel terminal and the nightmare that is the M20 motorway, for myself and my dog. Having stopped here last November, I didn’t look any further when booking a hotel this October. I can really only echo my review from last year by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay. I had even asked for the same ground floor room not too far from reception, as I find it so very convenient for early morning and late-night dog walking. Although it is “just” a standard double room, it is spacious, very comfortable and well equipped including a great bed and bedding, and fabulous black-out curtains. As someone who hates wetting their hair in the shower, I was again pathetically happy with the thoughtfully positioned shower controls opposite the shower head, at the other end of the large shower tray. Importantly for me as I was travelling with my dog, we were both made most welcome by all the friendly staff, and we took advantage of the riverside walks very close to the hotel (down Kinney’s Lane). The grassy space to one side of the hotel is ideal for early morning and late-night walkies, but please clean up after your dog; there are plenty of bins provided.

We loved the position of the hotel and the very friendly staff especially on reception and in the bar area. The room was very good, clean and comfortable and was everything that was advertised.. NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL

I did not like the DOGS in the bar area where we were eating our food. One was occasionally barking at the other dog. My main complaint is that one dog was sitting on the owners lap at the table next to us eating food while we were eating our dinner. I do not think this should be allowed and I am sorry to say that I will not be eating there again.

The room was fine and bathroom was good with a good shower (within a bath). The meal in the evening exceeded expectations for a chain hotel and the breakfast in the morning was really good. I was particularly impressed with the crisp fried bread and hash browns. the sausages and bacon were also freshly cooked so it was a great start to the day.

The building is old and I expect that there is not a lot that IHG can do with the outside of the building as it is probably subject to a conservation order. Inside though the corridors could do with a freshen up. I am also not a huge fan of showers over a bath, I don't think there are as safe as a walk in shower

The room was clean and comfortable, although somewhat functional - a chair would have been useful. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good , with plenty of choice.

Bedroom lighting is poor, but that seems to be the norm in all Holiday Inns. If guests are asked to think of the environment and re-use towels, there needs to be adequate hanging space to allow them to dry between use. Two small rails is not sufficient.

Nice and friendly staff. Room was a good size and clean. Bed was comfortable. Good location from the centre,walking distance to bars and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay.

Only slight shame was that we could hear people walking in the room above us due to creaky floorboards, as we were on the ground floor, but thankfully this was not late night/early morning so did not disturb us very much.

It was perfect as my friend and I attended a conference at the venue .

The service was exemplary especially from james who on Friday night warmly welcomed us on the reception and then served us breakfast on Saturday morning at the conference ! James is a real asset to you and he is an excellent member of staff. He is friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make Saturday morning a success and cater for everyone’s requirements !

very close to the tunnel, clean, food was excellent and good value. left my Sunglasses on the table in the dinner area. we checked out early before I realised. phoned Thomas on reception who said he had them and would bag them for my collection when I I return from holiday what an honest chap! all the staff were excellent car parking also an added bonus

For my specific purposes, the Holiday Inn at Ashford was ideal and lived entirely up to expectations. The drive from the Eurotunnel terminal took only twenty minutes, and the hotel is only five minutes away from the M20. As expected from a Holiday Inn, there is plenty of on-site car parking available, including dedicated disabled bays. My spacious double room was clean and comfy, with great black-out curtains, super mattress, table & chairs, desk with desk lamp and plenty of plug points, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, LG TV with UK Freeview channels, and fast, free WiFi. The en-suite shower room was bright and modern, with a huge mirror and super-thoughtful shower controls at the opposite end of the large shower tray to the shower head – ladies, rejoice! I was travelling with my dog; this is a dog-friendly hotel and she was made most welcome, even being allowed into the bar lounge for dinner. Just around the corner from the hotel is a cul-de-sac (Kinney’s Lane) which leads to a tarmac river walk / cycle lane ideal for walking your dog. For a quick early morning or late-night potty trip, the lawns around the hotel are ideal. Please do clean up after your dog though. There are plenty of bins provided at both locations.

This hotel is clearly frequented by business people and contractors who get up early; as a result, expect lots of door banging from as early as 6 a.m. Room service breakfast arrived 24 minutes late which resulted in a delayed start of my long car journey to Fishguard. Also, food including breakfast is surprisingly expensive.

1. The receptionist Delphine deserves a special mention. She was without a doubt extremely helpful, friendly and wonderful from a phone call early in the day to my arrival and departure the following day. the room was lovely, breakfast delicious- the lady on duty for breakfast was really friendly and helpful too.
